He's done some good work like upgrading the brakes, replacing the rear-end, etc. It's a beautiful blue and in perfect shape. It has the 4.7-liter, 235-hp V8, 4X4 and an engine block heater. <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hösten dök ner som ett bombplan förra veckan. Meka panda i snöslask och -5 lockar inte överdrivet, så det var bara att sätta fart!</p>
<p>Började slipa bort rostbubblorna på dörrarna från Enköping. Minns hur förvånad jag var över deras skick när jag hämtade dom. Nåväl, det fick sin förklaring, och den stavas bättringsfärg. De små rostknopparna blommade snart ut till riktigt vassa fula rostkaktusodlingar. Utsidorna har klarat sig hyfsat som tur är. Men inom något år är det nog dags att byta dörrar igen. Vore gött att få tag på ett par fabriksnya nu medans chansen finns.</p>
<p>Har börjat fixa bromsarna bak också. Byter bromscylindrarna helt enkelt.</p>
<p>Upptäckte till mitt höga nöje att vinterdäcken jag hittade efter ett panda-lik i småland är av mk-1 modell!! Panda 4x4 baseras till stora delar på mk1 (bladfjädrarna bl.a) så det känns ju käckt. Sommarfälgarna ska blästras och lackas vita.</p>

It is Laura's final challenge for us. This has been such a fun place to be every weekend and I hate that it is ending.</p>
<p>My 4x4 is a <a href="http://graphicsfairy.blogspot.com">Graphics Fairy</a> image of Thumbelina waving while being pulled along the water on a lily pad by a butterfly. I don't know whether she is supposed to be waving goodbye, but I'm pretending that this is "farewell."</p>
<p>The background card is dabbed with Moon Glow Starburst stain color of violet and is sprayed with Moon Glow Shadow mist blue-violet. The flourish stamp is by <a href="http://purpleoniondesigns.com">Purple Onion</a> designs.</p>

<p style="text-align:center;"><em>When the Other Half came home from work today, she informed me that the Land Rover's hand brake had gone "snap!" and was no longer working. I initially suspected one of the clevis pins at either end of the cable had come adrift or that the adjustment had gone. To my surprise, I found that the cable itself had snapped—despite being in good condition. Unfortunately, it's not quite assimple as ordering in a new part and fitting it (not that it ever is for us). No, we have to have a Land Rover Defender 110 that's a bitsa.<!--more--><br />

<p style="text-align:center;"><em>Ostensibly, the car is a 1991 Model Year Defender 110, first registered in early November 1990. However, 1990 was when Land Rover introduced the 200TDi diesel, changed the name from 110 to Defender 110, changed details of the specification and changed from imperial to metric. What it means is that our very early 1991 Model Year car has some bits from the 1990 Model Year 110 and some from the 1991 Model Year Defender 110. Some bits are metric, some are imperial. It makes it vital to inspect the parts to be replaced and not just rely on the chassis number when ordering parts. So, after chocking the wheels I crawled underneath to see what we had on the car.</em></p>

<p style="text-align:center;"><em>I discovered that while our Defender should have the later handbrake cable (which acts directly on the brake drum), ours in fact has the earlier cable that pulls a rod (which then acts on the brake drum). The good news is that in theory the cable is less complicated to replace, as replacing the newer cable entail removal of the brake drum. The bad news is that most parts suppliers, as usual, wanted to supply me the part indicated by the chassis number. Eventually, I have up and went to visit our local mechanic who called a couple of his suppliers. Two wanted to supply the wrong part—even when he told them exactly which part he needed and why—but the third came through with the right part. It will be delivered to the garage, I'll pay the mechanic for it and give him a couple of pork chops as a thanks for sorting it. (But can anyone explain why parts suppliers won't just supply the part you specify? Dumbos.)</em></p>

<p style="text-align:center;"><em>With the part on order, I returned home and crawled underneath the Defender again to remove the old cable. In theory, it's quite simply to disconnect the lower end of the cable: straighten the split pin (the orange-coloured piece of metal just below the centre of the photo) passing through the end of the clevis pin, pull the split pin out, pull the clevis pin out, and Bob's not your uncle... As I gently straightened the split pin, the split tails fell off. Never mind, I thought, I'll just pull it from the opposite end with the pliers, but what actually happened was somewhat less than ideal. The other end of the split pin pulled off and left the remains of the pin embedded in the hole. To make matters worse, I was working on my back under the Defender in heavy rain, a stream of four-centimetre deep water was running inside the collar of my waterproofs, my hands were going numb with cold and I was getting hungry. I decided to leave the job until Sunday!</em></p>

Este sărbătoarea de sfârşit de post, şi ţine 3 zile. Ca minunile la români.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="RO">Acum, sincer, am zis eu destule despre ei, însă trebuie să recunosc deschis că nu am mai văzut demult timp oameni bucurându-se aşa sincer la o sărbătoare. De dimineaţă, toţi musulmanii, fără excepţie, se îmbracă în alb, adunându-se, la 05.30, pentru prima mare rugăciune. Apoi este declarat oficial, prin trompetele lor de la moschee, „ramadan, over and out!” şi se dă răspândirea. Apoi îşi fac vizite, împart cadouri, dau telefoane pe la prieteni. Musulmani sau nu: pe mine m-a sunat Rashid să-mi ureze. I-am urat şi eu, şi s-a bucurat tare mult. Cred că noi, creştinii, oricât de superiori ne-am crede, am pierdut un lucru esenţial: bucuria de sărbători. Pe care aici am trăit-o din plin.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span>Cu o s</span><span lang="RO">ăptămână în urmă, am fost invitat de Greg, colegul meu francez de la electric, să mă alătur unei excursii pe care ei o plănuiau în timpul Eid-ului. Am acceptat cu interes,mai ales că destinaţia noastră urma să fie: deşert. Camping în mijlocul lui <em>mama-mă-si</em>, departe de orice.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="RO">Am plecat, pe 1 Octombrie la prânz, din camp, după ce în prealabil ne-am aprovizionat cu ceea ce este esenţial în astfel de situaţii: bere. Restul, adică mâncarea şi alte chestii inutile le-am lăsat în seama unei colege, care s-a oferit să ne ajute; iar aceste apucături trebuie întotdeauna încurajate la femei. Sentimentul de a fi util este un factor esenţial în dezvoltarea umană. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="RO">Am mers apoi la Doha, la o agenţie de leasing, unde s-au debarcat maşinile cu care veniserăm şi s-a închiriat un Nissan Patrol negru, nou-nouţ, având această calitate uriaşă: şaisprezece. Patru-ori-patru, adică.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="RO">4.800 cmc. Adică patru virgulă opt litri, frate. Ăştia nu se joacă, pe aici: ce are sub 3000 cmc nu se importă în Qatar. Bine, la ei litrul de benzină este 0,7 Ryali. Adică vreo 50 de bani la noi. Nu ştiu câţi cai putere poseda bidiviul, însă de mişcat se mişca impresionant.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="RO">Pe undeva pe la Messaid (o localitate sudică), unde se termină şoseaua şi încep dunele, este începutul sesiunii de off-road pe aici. Nu numai pentru noi, ci şi pentru ceilalţi amatori de camping în nisip. Aici te dai frumuşel jos din maşină, desumfli roţile sub 1 bar, te mai asiguri o dată că ai rezervorul plin şi lopăţica la tine şi o tai. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="RO">Am mers 2 echipaje. Noi şi ăilalţi. Care aveau un Ford 4x4 ce-a reuşit, în timpul excursiei, şă-şi piardă o apărătoare, să-şi îndoaie tot felul de table, aripi şi alte chestii, iar la sfârşit (noroc că ajunsesem la Messaid) să-i plesnească un furtun pe sistemul de răcire. Japonezul <em>nostru</em> n-a avut nimic. Noi, însă, da: Greg conduce ca un dement, şi la 100 km</span><span>/h pe </span><span lang="RO">dune, cu viraje pe pante având 30 de grade, nu mai faci diferenţa între pasagerii din spate şi bagaje. Mai ales când maşina o ia la vale, în drifting. Eram una cu rucsacii, mâncarea, berile, corturile, care zburau impoderabil prin habitaclu. Dar a meritat. Senzaţia e absolut fantastică. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="RO">Nu sunt fan maşini, cai putere şi alte de-astea. Îmi plac sporturile în care-mi pun în funcţiune proprii muşchi şi n-am nevoie de motoare. Dar să mergi pe dune cu animalul japonez, neştiind ce reacţie are maşina şi când vom rămâne împotmoliţi sau când ne vom răsturna, îţi dă nişte fiori ce nu credeam c-am să-i încerc.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="RO">După ce am campat (am mers vreo 30 km în sud, până n-am mai văzut pe nimeni, şi-am dat de graniţa cu Arabia Saudită), evident că ne-am pus pe grătare şi beri. Apoi, la lăsarea întunericului, am luat iarăşi maşinile şi dă-i ture iarăşi. Te simţi ca la ski. Foarte mişto. Apoi, după 10 seara, încep să apară coloanele de maşini: vin arabii. Care toată noaptea numai asta fac: se dau. Fac întreceri, merg în coloane, se bucură oamenii. S-au potolit pe la 4 dimineaţa.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="RO">Am dormit sub cerul liber: ne-am întins sacii de dormit, am mai stat la poveşti şi-am adormit. Să nu vă zic cum se vede cerul acolo. Ca-n poveşti.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span>Nu am scris toate acestea pentru a povesti ce vacanţă minunat</span><span lang="RO">ă am avut eu. Sunt doar foarte excitat că am găsit acest nou sport (pentru mine): dune drifting. Şi care, evident, doar prin zonele astea se poate practica. Şi vreau să-l recomand.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="RO">Închirierea unui 4x4 bun e aici 800 Ryali. Cam 150 de euro. Pentru 24h. La 4 persoane, e foarte acceptabil. Nu ştiu cât costă biletul de avion România-Qatar, însă sunt sigur că, la câţi operatori lucrează pe Doha, se poate găsi, din timp, un bilet acceptabil. Apoi, perioada este excelentă acum: Octombrie – Martie temperaturile sunt foarte bune. Noaptea sunt maxim 27 grade, iar ziua nu mai sare de 40. Acum, la 1 Octombrie. În noiembrie – decembrie se va lăsa chiar mult mai frig. Bere se găseşte, marea-i aproape, nu sunt alte probleme. </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;margin:0 0 6pt;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;">Resulta siempre sorprendente esa sección de los periódicos dedicada al Motor donde se hacen verdaderos ditirambos llenos de elogios de las virtudes de los coches. Se trata de una sección que puede calificarse sin ningún género de publicidad.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;margin:0 0 6pt;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;"><strong>Muy recientemente el Diario El País en esta sección de Motor nos confirma que los Todo-Terreno son  vehículos eminentemente urbanos.</strong></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;margin:0 0 6pt;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;">Lo lógico, según el “diario de referencia”, es desplazarse por ciudad con un enorme vehículo de casi 2000 kilogramos, con todo el derroche de espacio y consumo que esto supone.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;margin:0 0 6pt;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;">Y como lo suyo es moverse por la ciudad con estos mastodontes, pues los vamos a dotar con medidas que eviten golpes en la urbe.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;margin:0 0 6pt;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;">A continuación reproducimos un resumen de la Campaña de Ecologistas en Acción:</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;margin:0 0 6pt;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;"><strong>4x4 = MENOS PLANETA.</strong></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;margin:0 0 6pt;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;">El transporte es uno de los sectores que mas impacto ecológico genera en el mundo desarrollado, especialmente el transporte por carretera. En el Estado español este último contribuye al cambio climático emitiendo el 25 % del total de emisiones de CO2, principal gas de efecto invernadero.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;margin:0 0 6pt;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;">Entre los diferentes modelos de vehículos que circulan en las carreteras españolas son especialmente relevantes los Todo-terreno o vehículos 4X4. La mayoría de los modelos de 4X4 que circulan en nuestras carreteras presentan unos niveles de emisión de CO2 muy elevados, generalmente por encima del resto de vehículos. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;margin:0 0 6pt;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;">De los 20 modelos más vendidos en el Estado español en 2006, prácticamente todos emiten por encima de los 200 gramos de CO2 por kilómetro recorrido.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;margin:0 0 6pt;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;">En el contexto actual en el que la contribución del transporte al cambio climático crece de forma imparable, los 4X4 representan una opción totalmente insostenible.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;margin:0 0 6pt;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;">Además de los problemas derivados de las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero, los 4X4 generan un fuerte impacto sobre el medio natural, incrementando la presión sobre entornos poco accesibles y degradando la red de caminos y pistas forestales.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;margin:0 0 6pt;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;">Los 4X4 presentan también gravísimas consecuencias en caso de siniestro o atropello, tanto para los ocupantes de los vehículos con los que colisionan como para los peatones.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;margin:0 0 6pt;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;">Esta concentración de impactos negativos es consecuencia de las características de estos vehículos: mayores dimensiones, mayor peso y mayor potencia y, por tanto, mayor consumo de energía y mayores emisiones.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;margin:0 0 6pt;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;">Ecologistas en Acción considera que es necesario romper con la visión mitificadora de estos vehículos que ofrece la publicidad con el único objetivo de vender un tipo de vehículo totalmente innecesario en la ciudad y muy cuestionable en el campo salvo para usos estrictamente agrícolas, ganaderos o forestales.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;margin:0 0 6pt;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;">Asimismo es necesario un cambio de percepción sobre los conductores de estos vehículos: lejos de ser representantes del éxito social, no son sino el exponente más claro del despilfarro de recursos y de insolidaridad con el resto del planeta.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;margin:0 0 6pt;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;">Con esta información Ecologistas en Acción quiere hacer llegar a la ciudadanía su oposición a la fabricación y venta de este tipo de vehículos para usos no profesionales utilizando como medio una campaña de ámbito estatal que se desarrolla con el lema 4X4 = MENOS PLANETA.</span></p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Last weekend brought a welcome break out of Dubai. On Thursday I made the necessary but tiring business day trip to Doha - I raced home grabbed my weekend bag and headed out to Fujairah, which was a great opportunity to let the Audi really stretch its legs.</p>
<p>This time a group of us rented a comfortable 3/4 Bedroom Villa at the <a href="http://www.royalbeach.ae/fujairah.htm">Royal Beach Resort</a> which worked out as a very economical way to spend the weekend in a nice resort on the coast.</p>
<p>We did the usual things - hanging out in the pool, BBQ'ing on the patio as well as endless games of Whist and Rummy, it was really relaxing. On the Friday we went on a little group outing to the UAE's only natural waterfall at a place called <a href="http://www.explorerpublishing.com/offroad/wadi-wurrayah">Wadi Wurrayah</a>. The drive is about 30 minutes from where the main hotel areas are. The last five kilometres of the trip are along a rock strewn river bed and a 4x4 vehicle is highly recommended and not for the first time I wished I had brought the Hummer along for this trip. The ride was rather bone jarring - but the end result was worth it. We were greeted by a natural rock pool with the promising rushing sounds of a waterfall.</p>
<p>We were soon all in the water swimming around and enjoying the cool water making a pleasant escape from the arid desert sun. Here are the lads enjoying the refreshing waterfall (shame about the graffiti):</p>

<p>With care, it is possible to scramble up some rocks and for the daring you can leap into the water. In parts the rock pool is more than 4 meters deep - however I was too scared to jump. Below you can see Duncan doing his bit and escorting two of the girls over the edge!</p>

<p>Remember the Maestro? Not a car that conjours up many positive memories and to be frank we've even forgotten what it looked like. Unlikely that you'll find find an owners club for them either. However, it is notable that such a forgettable milestone in the timeline of the British motor industry can take credit for having a hand in two of the most successful 4x4's ever made - The Discovery and the Freelander. That's right - at a time when Rover were cash-strapped (as usual) the only way to develop a new model was to search the parts bin, pull out the blender and hope that the resulting mish-mash could pass-off as a 'new model'. At least in the case of the Disco and the Freelander it was a resounding success based on a Maestro-flavoured sauce. Just like those inventive chaps who made a glider out of matchsticks to escape Colditz, the boys behind that particular recipe should have got medals from the Queen. By 2002 the Freelander had become the biggest-selling 4x4 in Europe and paved the way for the myriad of compact SUV's that followed from every manufacturer worth their salt. It is also interesting how the car hasn't suffered looks-wise over the years and even an early 1996 model still looks quite fresh on the streets today. Finalement, il y a pourtant plein de bonnes raisons pour acheter un bon gros 4x4 !</p>
<p><span style="color:#ff9900;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="font-size:14pt;color:#cc9933;">Aspect sécurité:</span></span><br />
</span>Où sommes-nous plus à l'abri que dans un bon gros 4x4 ?  <br />
D'abord, il y a le pare-buffles.  C'est bien le pare-buffles.  Effectivement, avez-vous remarqué le nombre de piétons qui traversent en ville ?  Et le nombre croissant de cyclistes sur les grandes route ? Imaginez un accident avec eux... L'horreur totale !  La carrosserie pourrait en souffrir. C'est traître, vous savez, un guidon de vélo qui s'encastre dans le radiateur !  La réparation coûte une véritable fortune ! Au moins, un pare-buffles protège de tout cela.<br />
Ensuite, vu le nombre croissant de bons gros 4x4 sur les routes, si on a accident avec l'un deux, on se retrouverait ratatiné avec une voiture normale. Aucune chance de survie, vu la masse des bons gros 4x4. Donc il vaut mieux aussi avoir un bon gros 4x4 pour se sentir en sécurité. On peut alors rouler plus décontracté: on n'a plus besoin de faire tout le temps attention à tout, on peut plus facilement téléphoner en roulant, car au moins, on est à l'abri dans un bon gros 4x4.<br />
Enfin, avec un bon gros 4x4 en ville, au moins, ceux qui n'en ont pas et qui veulent absolument prendre leur priorité vous laissent passer.  A la limite, on peut s'aider des bons gros phares du bon gros 4x4: comme ils sont plus haut que ceux d'une voiture normale, ça les impressionne, et comme ils sont éblouis (c'est le cas de le dire), ils s'arrêtent d'office pour laisser passer les bons gros 4x4.  Ca facilite le circulation, et ca réduit donc le nombre de bouchons.<br />
Donc, un bon gros 4x4 contribue à la mobilité en ville.</p>
<p><span style="color:#ffcc66;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="font-size:14pt;color:#cc9933;">Question prix:</span></span><br />
</span>Un bon gros 4x4, c'est super économique ! Ben oui, il suffit de savoir calculer:<br />
Prenez une voiture familiale normale, par exemple une Toyota Avensis 5 portes.  Vous payerez <strong>26.260 EUR</strong>, pour une voiture qui pèse <strong>1455 Kgs</strong>. Soit <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">18.05 EUR/kg</span></strong>.<br />
Maintenant, prenez un bon gros Nissan Patrol Wagon.  D'accord, il vous en coutera <strong>40.150 EUR</strong>, mais pour ce prix-là, vous avez quand même <strong>2495 Kgs</strong> de bons gros matériaux, soit une bonne grosse tonne en plus.  Ce qui ramène le prix au kilo à <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">16.09 EUR</span></strong>, seulement !  Ben voilà, c'est tout simple !<br />
Pourquoi payer plus cher: un bon gros 4x4, plus c'est gros, moins ça coûte au kilo !</p>

Aaaah, ma liberté !  C'est sacré !<br />
Avec un bon gros 4x4, on n'a plus besoin de partir loin pour avoir des sensations: il suffit d'aller le dimanche dans le bois le plus proche.  En général, on y trouve de superbes chemins en terre où on peut jouer au safari avec ses copains.  Parfois, on peut même voir des vrais animaux, comme dans les émissions de Ushuaïa (en moins beau, mais c'est parce que Nicolas Hulot, il va très loin en polluant beaucoup pour faire ses émissions).  On peut aller où on veut, on roule partout avec un bon gros 4x4.<br />
En plus, comme on est plus haut que dans une voiture normale, on profite mieux du paysage. Surtout que, comme on a dit plus haut, on est plus en sécurité, on peut consacrer plus de temps à regarder ailleurs que bêtement de rester tout le temps à regarder les autres usagers de la route.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="font-size:14pt;color:#cc9933;">Un bon gros 4x4, c'est écolo:</span></span><br />
Ben oui, se promener par tout temps dans un bon gros 4x4 dans les bois, ça pollue moins que de partir loin en vacances.  Et puis, dans les bois, on est proche de la nature, c'est très écolo.<br />
Les rumeurs comme quoi les émissions de CO2 participeraient au réchauffement climatique ne sont pas formellement démontrées.  Ce ne sont donc que des fariboles orchestrées par le puissant lobby des écolos et des vendeurs d'éoliennes qui veulent en planter partout. <br />
De toute façon, même si c'était vrai, ça serait de toute façon pas une mauvaise chose que la planète se réchauffe: au moins on ferait des économies de chauffage et donc on polluerait moins.  Et on ne devrait plus partir loin pour avoir du temps chaud, donc on polluerait moins aussi. <br />
C'est pas parce qu'on a 15° au mois de janvier que ça veut dire que la planète se réchauffe: d'abord, ces températures se sont déjà vues par le passé (en 1827, je crois), ensuite, ben regardez dehors: aujourd'hui il gèle !   Donc, c'est que tout va bien, quand même !<br />
Et puis, ce n'est pas un bon gros 4x4 qui polluera beaucoup, parce que de toute façon, on lit partout qu'en roulant le pied léger, on économise 20% de carburant.  Et là aussi, si on compare ce qu'on gagne avec 20% d'économie de carburant, pour l'Avensis qui consomme <strong>7.6</strong> l/100 et le bon gros Patrol qui en consomme <strong>14.3</strong>, on fera donc presque deux fois plus d'économies de carburant avec un bon gros 4x4 !</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="font-size:14pt;color:#cc9933;">L'avenir:</span><br />
</span>De toute façon, y'a pas à discuter: le bon gros 4x4 est un véhicule d'avenir.<br />
Pourquoi ? Parce que si ce n'était pas le cas, les constructeurs ne leur feraient pas autant de pub, tiens ! On voit quand même plus de pubs pour de bons gros 4x4 que pour des voitures conçues pour consommer peu, non ?  C'est quand même un signe, non ?<br />
Regardez le succès du récent <a href="http://grandeur-nature.skynetblogs.be/post/4057327/salon-de-lauto" target="_blank">salon de Bruxelles</a>: on n'a jamais vendu autant de bons gros 4x4.  Tous ces gens-là ne peuvent quand même pas se tromper !<br />
En plus, vous avez bien vu dans la presse cette semaine: l'Europe n'intègre pas les bons gros 4x4 dans les mesures concernant les limitations des émissions polluantes (voir mes posts "<a href="http://grandeur-nature.skynetblogs.be/post/4095676/europe-mauvais-eleve" target="_blank">Europe, mauvais élève</a>" et "<a href="http://grandeur-nature.skynetblogs.be/post/3972416/euro-5" target="_blank">Euro 5</a>"). C'est sûrement parce qu'ils y croient en l'avenir des bons gros 4x4. Et c'est encore le meilleur moyen d'en faire la promotion.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="font-size:14pt;color:#cc9933;">Pratique:</span></span><br />
C'est tellement pratique un bon gros 4x4.<br />
On ne manque jamais de place dans le coffre quand on fait les courses le samedi.<br />
Et il y a presque toujours de la place libre sur les emplacements pour handicapés.  Comme on ne peut garer un bon gros 4x4 que sur ces emplacements parce qu'ils sont plus larges, on est en même temps juste à côté de l'entrée du magasin. Cool ! Même plus besoin de marcher !<br />
Il y a aussi qu'on peut se sortir de tous les mauvais pas.  Imaginez une coulée de boue sur le ring de Bruxelles (On ne sait jamais, ça peut arriver). Au moins, avec un bon gros 4x4, on peut arriver à se dégager.  Tandis que les voitures normales, elles, resteraient embourbées et entraveraient la circulation des bons gros 4x4.  Encore un exemple où le bon gros 4x4 participe à la mobilité sur nos routes !<br />
Il faut penser à tout, parer à toute éventualité.  C'est bien, pour ces cas-là, d'avoir un bon gros 4x4.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="font-size:14pt;color:#cc9933;">Respect:</span></span><br />
Et puis, quand on a un bon gros 4x4, y'à pas à dire, ça force le respect.<br />
D'abord, ça permet de lui rabaisser son caquet à son imbécile de voisin/beau-frère/patron.  Parce que cet abruti, il a acheté un bon gros 4x4 l'année passée, mais uniquement pour frimer.  Il ne se rend même pas compte combien c'est sûr, pratique, économique et plein d'avantages, un bon gros 4x4.  Non lui, c'est juste pour faire le fier !<br />
Au moins, maintenant, on peut en acheter encore un plus gros que lui.  Chaque année, ils sont de plus en plus gros, les bons gros 4x4.  Maintenant, c'est lui qui regarde de travers.  Bien fait pour sa gueule, à ce con ! <br />
Et aussi, sur le parking du supermarché le samedi, quand on est avec madame, au moins les gens voient qui c'est qui décide à la maison. <br />
Parce que quand on a un bon gros 4x4, tout le monde voit bien qu'on est un homme.  Un vrai. Ca donne de l'autorité.</p>
<hr />Bon, allez.  Assez déliré.... Redevenons sérieux, mais juste pour une petite minute.  Très peu de personnes (en fait, seulement quelques professions bien précises) peuvent justifier réellement le nécessité de posséder ce type de futilitaires.  Dans les autres cas, je pense que la raison profonde est tout simplement ailleurs: dans le pantalon !  Je dirais juste à ces messieurs tellement excités par la perspective de pouvoir manier pour une fois un bon gros engin, que pour combler leurs frustrations, leur permettre de s'affirmer ou pour se redonner confiance en soi, une certaine petite pillule bleue bien connue peut faire des miracles par rapport aux troubles de l'érection.   En revanche, si vraiment, ils ressentent le besoin impérieux (sans doute justifié...) d'en avoir une plus grosse, qu'ils se tournent plutôt vers la chirurgie que vers un concessionnaire automobile !<img src="http://blogsimages.skynet.be/atom//images/richeditor/smilies/icon_cool.gif" border="0" alt="" />(J'attends avec délectation vos réactions... Surtout celles des amateurs de bons gros 4x4.  Quitte à être ridicules, autant qu'ils viennent encore nous faire rire un petit peu ! )</p>

<title><![CDATA[La fin des 4 X 4 ?]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>L'impact de la hausse des carburants a eu comme conséquence immédiate partout dans le monde (Etats-Unis en tête, rapidement suivis par l'Europe) que <span style="color:#ffff00;">les consommateurs cherchent à acheter des véhicules moins gourmands</span>.  Et donc, se dirigent vers des cylindrées et carrosseries plus raisonnables.</p>
<p>L'effet fut particulièrement marquant aux Etats-Unis.  </strong><a title="Canal Z" href="http://canalz.trends.be/kanaalz/fr/" target="_blank"><strong>Canal Z</strong></a><strong> (chaîne belge d'informations financières) a diffusé dans le courant du mois de juillet un reportage particulièrement significatif sur le marché des véhicules d'occasions aux Etats-Unis.  On a pu suivre ainsi le (<span style="color:#00ffff;">heureux ?</span>) propriétaire d'un bon gros 4x4 en assez bon état, se rendant chez un spécialiste de l'occasion, et se voyant proposé pour son véhicule la rutilante somme de... 250 $ (<span style="color:#ffff00;">180 EUR</span> environ) !</p>
<p>Et le résultat est là: <span style="color:#ffff00;">les Américains se débarrassent de leurs gros bidules et le marché est saturé de 4x4 d'occasion dont plus personne ne veut.</span></p>
<p>La corollaire de cela au niveau des producteurs est que les Américains comme GM (General Motors), Chrysler ou Ford se retrouvent maintenant avec des stocks considérables de gros véhicules neufs qu'ils n'arrivent plus à vendre.   Ces constructeurs n'ont pas (pû ou voulu) anticiper la tendance vers des voitures moins sales et se retrouvent maintenant avec <span style="color:#ffff00;">des résultats catastrophiques</span>.<br />
<span style="color:#00ffff;">Des milliers d'emplois vont ainsi malheureusement passer à la trappe.</span></p>
<p>Chez General Motors, c'en est au point que, pour redresser un peu l'équilibre financier, <span style="color:#ffff00;">le constructeur essaie désespéremment de revendre sa division Hummer au tiers de sa valeur et ne trouve même pas un acquéreur</span> !</p>
<p>Au total, si les pouvoirs publics américains n'avaient pas injecté des liquidités directement dans ces sociétés comme elles l'ont fait aussi pour sauver certains établissements de crédit, leur avenir (celui de GM en particulier) aurait été loin d'être assuré.</p>
<p>Quant aux constructeurs européens, la situation n'est que légèrement différente.  Certains producteurs français ayant traditionnellement dans leur gamme davantage de voitures petites ou moyennes s'en sortent mieux que les autres.   Mais globalement, l'effet est le même qu'aux Etats-Unis: <span style="color:#ffff00;">les gros machins obèses sur roues n'ont plus la cote et encombrent les stocks.</span></p>
<p>On peut s'attendre très prochainement à de grosses braderies de prix sur les 4x4, mais y aura-t-il encore des clients ?  Quiconque fera la calcul de prix de revient en intégrant le coût du carburant renoncera rapidement à ces ridicules machins.<br />
Le marché des voitures de société représentant en Europe un tiers du parc automobile étant aussi poussé au vert par des incitants fiscaux (en France et en Belgique, entre autres) n'est plus acheteur non plus de cette gamme. </p>
<p>De plus, là où il y a quelques années, posséder un 4x4 pouvait, pour certains, être un objet de fierté, signe de (ou <span style="color:#00ffff;">fantasme d'afficher</span>) une réussite sociale, aujourd'hui, de plus en plus, <span style="color:#ffff00;">rouler en 4x4 n'attire plus de tout de regard d'envie</span>.   L'image d'un choix démodé véhiculant plutôt le sentiment d'un <span style="color:#00ffff;">égoïsme pitoyable</span>, <span style="color:#00ffff;">ringuard</span> et <span style="color:#00ffff;">caricaturalement ridicule</span> est devenue prédominante.</p>
<p>Et donc, on peut prédire que dans un avenir tout proche, on pourra se réjouir de <span style="color:#ffff00;">voir progressivement disparaître les 4x4 et autres futilitaires des catalogues.</span><br />
Et comme aux Etats-Unis, le marché de l'occasion pour ce segment va très rapidement  s'effondrer également.  </strong></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12pt;"><strong>Autant le savoir maintenant, si vous en avez encore un et que vous voulez récupérer plus de 180 EUR lors de sa revente....</strong></span></p>

I have always been fascinated by patterns in the natural world so my entry is depicting some of those patterns. My background is made of Moon Shadow aqua. My fern stamp is simply a foam stamp (enhanced at the bottom with a brush and ink for balance). The collaged butterfly and Rudbeckia are from a magazine. This entry is also eligible for <a href="http://crazyamigochallenge.wordpress.com">Crazy Amigo</a> challenge this week, whose theme is butterflies.</p>
