<title><![CDATA[¿Cómo que "demasiado cerca"?]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>El pasado miércoles volvía yo de una mañana de exámenes y entré en el restaurante donde me avituallo antes de comenzar las clases. Un detalle de mis jefes: cuando hay examen, como tengo que trabajar por la mañana, me pagan el menú. Total, que estaba yo esperando en la mesa con <em>La Vanguardia </em>entre las manos y mis ojos se fueron directos hacia un reportaje que me machacó. <a href="http://www.lavanguardia.es/lv24h/20080430/53460086063.html">Decía el titular:</a></p>

<p>Los hechos que relata el diario son como sigue: un grupo de escolares de 13 años de un instituto de Santa Coloma de Gramenet (Barcelona) fueron de excursión al monasterio cisterciense de <a href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monasterio_de_Santes_Creus">Santes Creus</a> (Tarragona). Los llevaron en autocar. Tras pasar un día entre cirios y piedras medievales, al conductor no se le ocurrió otra idea que darle la vuelta al vehículo en una explanada repleta de chavales hartos de excursión que mataban el tiempo como podían antes de subir al autocar para volver a casa. Dicen que arrolló a uno de los muchachos con las ruedas traseras. Murió.</p>
<p>Los Mossos d'Esquadra detuvieron al chófer del autocar por homicidio imprudente. Según la Policía, el conductor comenzó las maniobras cuando los escolares estaban demasiado cerca del vehículo.</p>
<p>¿Qué quiere decir que el conductor maniobró "demasiado cerca" de los chavales? Cualquier conductor sabe que cuando maniobra debe cerciorarse de que nada ni nadie se halla en el lugar donde moverá su vehículo. Y ante cualquier duda, debe detenerse en el acto para hacer cuantas comprobaciones sean necesarias, bajando del vehículo si es preciso. Eso lo sabe cualquier conductor de "B", pero un chófer de "C" o "D" debe tenerlo más que fresco.</p>
<p>Por otra parte, me llama mucho la atención un punto. Todos sabemos que uno de los temas que caracterizan a un buen conductor es su sentido de la anticipación. Si esto es así, me pregunto por qué el chófer del autocar esperó a que los chavales estuvieran presentes para darle la vuelta al vehículo. ¿No tuvo tiempo de hacerlo mientras los jóvenes se empapaban de cultura?</p>
<p>Luego está el clásico al que odio recurrir, pero es que hay preguntas obvias. ¿Dónde andaban los tres profesores que controlaban a estos casi 60 alumnos? No quiero sugerir que tuvieran que amarrar a los muchachos como si fueran niños de preescolar, pero al ver que el conductor iba a poner en marcha el vehículo, ¿tanto les costaba coordinar la operación para que nadie resultara herido?</p>
<p>Y finalmente, y sintiéndolo mucho, tengo que preguntarlo: ¿Qué coño hacían los chavales correteando por la explanada, viendo que el autocar se movía? No estamos hablando de críos de cuatro años. Con trece tacos un tío ya sabe ver que un vehículo se mueve. ¿Tanto les costaba salir huyendo de la zona?</p>
<p>Son muchas dudas. Lo sé. Y respecto al último párrafo, hay que puntualizar una cosa. Dicen los testigos que el autocar maniobró a gran velocidad, así que la posibilidad de huir quedaría descartada.</p>
<p>Y ya que estamos...</p>
<p>Los escolares que presenciaron los hechos se han quejado reiteradamente de que las versiones presentadas en los medios de comunicación son erróneas. Algunos de ellos han publicado una versión propia de los hechos. Como yo no estaba en el lugar donde murió el muchacho y me gusta escuchar todo lo que me cuentan para luego decidir, dejo aquí lo que he leído en la página <a href="http://sntk.awardspace.com/index.php?site=news_comments&#38;newsID=40"><em>EnigmaTICS</em></a> para que cada cual lea y decida:</p>
<blockquote><p><strong><span style="color:#0a0a0a;">La cruda verdad.</span></strong></p>
<p>Sí, porque suficientes sabemos como fue en realidad, y demasiados gritos lanzamos al viento en ese corto momento, pero muy prolongado. Que nos crean quien quiera, pero las proximas palabras estaran caragadas de realismo, impotencia y muchas otras cosas que nadie desea ni a su mayor enemigo y que la prensa miente.</p>
<p><span style="color:#0a0a0a;"> Esto es la cruda verdad.</span></p>
<p>Como todos sabemos, hara pocos dias que Cristian Cid Alonso (mas conocido en CS y foros de este tema como “–cri” o “Graf0ne”) que falleció a la edad de 13 años a causa de una imprudencia al volante por un conductor de autocar en presencia de 59 compañeros de clase. Hasta ahí, la prensa no se equivoca en nada (quizás en la edad, con la intención de quitar un poco más de violencia y dolor, pero eso no es lo que más importa, sinceramente.)<br />
Algunos entenderán, que no se ni como empezar a comentar esta trágica escena, no contemplada solo por mi o por dos personas, no, eramos, como ya he dicho, 59 niños y ningun adulto, salvo el imprudente al volante. No voy a explicarla del todo ya que no es agradable ni tengo la fuerza. Dicho esto, <strong>vayamos a corregir las grandes mentiras de la prensa</strong> (entiendo que ellos no tengan la culpa, pero tampoco sabemos si el conductor dio las declaraciones correctas o estas, las llenas de hechos falsos. <strong>De todos modos, lo que la prensa dice es MENTIRA.</strong>).</p>
<p>Varios periódicos <strong>publicaron que el conductor dio marcha atrás y él, estaba en la parte trasera del autobús (ahi ya depende de la idelologia del reportero o escritor de la noticia; algunos dicen que Cristian estaba ¡orinando! detras del autocar o que jugaba a futbol, que ya me diran con que pelota)</strong> y accidentalmente le arroyó. Esto <strong>NO ES CIERTO</strong>. Aunque parezca una mala exusa o versión, y porque no, idiota (por que ni nosotros entendemos el porqué el conductor hizo tal idiotez, ni nadie, qué digo), el conductor <strong>empezó a maniobrar MUY BRUSCAMENTE cerca de nosotros y empezo a dar una vuelta al parking (que ni llegó a acabar la vuelta)</strong> y algunos alumnos <strong>le perseguieron para decirle que parara, ya que alguien podría salir herido. El conductor, pensando que era un juego, porque veía que una gran cantidad de nosotros iba tras el bus, aceleraba cada vez más y seguia intentando dar la vuelta al parking, y en una curva, Cristian tropezó, él en el suelo, se intentó proteger y se encogió (pensando que saldría por debajo) entonces, el autocar dio una curva interior</strong> y lo demás, es historia. DE TODOS MODOS, aunque no sea creible, <strong>estamos hablando de la versión real, la de los 59 NIÑOS QUE PRESENCIARON</strong> el mayor dolor de sus jóvenes vidas y la muerte de un amigo. Como iba diciendo, si los mossos d’esquadra no les parece correcta la versión, que me respondan a esto:</p>
<p><span style="color:#0a0a0a;"><strong>Si dio marcha atrás, PORQUÉ SE ARROYÓ PRIMERO EL TORAX DEL JOVEN Y NO EL CRANEO? No se supone que al ir marcha atrás el transporte y el cuerpo, mirando hacia delante, (por que dudo que alguien corra hacia un autocar o hacia donde sea al reves) ¿no debería haberse destrozado antes el craneo que el tronco?</strong></span></p>
<p>También, el conductor, al menos podría haberse esperado a que los profesores estuvieran presentes o que al menos nos dejrara entrar al autobús antes de maniobrar para hacer dios sabe que. El menos el no seria el responsable adulto de casi todo, o almenos avisa de que vas a hacer maniobras muy bruscas. O eso pienso yo.<br />
No tengo nada más que decir, al menos yo.<strong> Simplemente que no buscamos un verdugo, sino que buscamos la justicia.</strong></p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Fanii Romaniei au dus in finala trei sloganuri pentru CE de fotbal 2008 - „România, te iubim, campioană te dorim!", „România în finală e speranţă naţională!" si „România, te iubim şi cu tine ne mândrim!" -, ultimul primind cele mai multe voturi pe site-ul UEFA, astfel ca va trona pe autocarul nationalei lui Piturca.<br />
Desi seamana ca doua picaturi de apa cu  „X-ulescu te iubim că ca tine nu găsim" asta se pare ca nu deranjeaza pe nimeni. Totusi, pe blogurile romanesti au aparut deja mai multe personaje hâtre care ii iau peste picior pe votanti si subliniaza ridicolul situatiei.<br />
Recunosc ca nu mai tin minte toate blogurile respective (sa ma ierte posesorii lor ca nu ii mentionez) dar ultimele citite sunt <a title="bloguresti" href="http://bloguresti.blogspot.com/2008/04/c-ca-tine-nu-gsim.html" target="_blank">aici</a> si <a title="chinezu" href="http://chinezu.eu/2008/04/30/romania-te-iubim-ca-ca-tine-nu-gasim/" target="_blank">aici</a>.</p>
<p>Acum, ca avem un  slogan, s-ar preta sa facem si propuneri de imn.<!--more--></p>

<title><![CDATA[Tecnica: il futuro dei compressori volumetrici sarà elettrico?]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="post" src="http://static.blogo.it/autoblog/electric_supercharger.jpg" border="0" alt="electric supercharger" width="234" height="155" align="left" /> Secondo un articolo recentemente pubblicato dalla rivista inglese <a href="http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArticle.aspx?AR=232017">Autocar</a>, i compressori volumetrici presto potrebbero andare incontro ad una piccola rivoluzione, quella dell’avvento dell’elettricità. Una nota azienda britannica ha infatti svelato da poco il suo primo supercharger avviato da un motorino elettrico.</p>
<p>Il Variable Torque Enhancement System sviluppato dalla Controlled Power Technologies presenta infatti l’inedita assenza della cinghia d’azionamento, che nella sovralimentazione volumetrica tradizionale avvia il compressore d’aria trasmettendogli il movimento dell’albero motore.</p>
<p>Il sistema è pronto per la produzione in serie e dovrebbe arrivare sul mercato fra 18 mesi, anche perchè la sua implementazione non richiede di riprogettare i propulsori che lo adotteranno. Un portavoce della CPT ha dichiarato che tre grandi costruttori automobilistici sono in contatto con l’azienda per la fornitura della tecnologia, i cui punti di forza sono il basso costo, gli ingombri minimi e l’alta affidabilità.</p>
<p>Vengono chiaramente confermati tutti i vantaggi che la sovralimentazione volumetrica presenta rispetto ai turbocompressori, come la disponibilità di coppia sin dai bassi regimi. Questo sistema presenta inoltre il vantaggio di ridurre l’assorbimento di potenza rispetto ad un compressore volumetrico ad azionamento meccanico, grazie all’assenza del collegamento diretto con l’albero motore tramite la tradizionale cinghia di trasmissione.</p>
<p>La CPT dichiara dati sorprendenti per quanto riguarda le prestazioni, con tempi in ripresa che scendono fino al 40% rispetto ad un aspirato di pari cubatura. Il che si traduce secondo l’azienda, in un miglioramento di circa sette secondi (!) nel caso di un piccolo 1.2.</p>

Об этом сообщает британское издание <em><a href="http://www.shurashova.wordpress.com">Autocar</a></em>.<br />
Модельный ряд <strong><a href="http://www.shurashova.wordpress.com">Land Rover</a></strong> планируется расширить за счет нового компактного кроссовера. Создан такой автомобиль будет по мотивам <em><a href="http://www.shurashova.wordpress.com">концепт-кара LRX</a></em>, две версии которого, отличающиеся лишь небольшими изменениями во внешности, были впервые представлены на прошедших моторшоу в Детройте и Женеве. Информации о технической начинке кроссовера пока нет. Отметим, что прототипы были оснащены гибридной силовой установкой и системой автоматической остановки и запуска двигателя.<br />
Ранее сообщалось, что серийная версия <em><strong><a href="http://www.shurashova.wordpress.com">Land Rover LRX</a></strong></em> составит конкуренцию <strong><a href="http://www.shurashova.wordpress.com">Audi Q3</a></strong> и <strong><a href="http://www.shurashova.wordpress.com">BMW X1</a></strong> и займет в модельно ряду место на ступеньку ниже <a href="http://www.shurashova.wordpress.com">Freelander</a>. Производство нового кроссовера будет налажено на британском заводе марки в <a href="http://www.shurashova.wordpress.com">Хейлвуде</a>. Выпуск автомобиля начнется в 2011 году.<br />
Новой моделью для <strong><a href="http://www.shurashova.wordpress.com">Jaguar</a></strong> станет спортивный автомобиль XE, который в настоящее время находится в стадии разработки. Ожидается, что в продаже машина появится в 2012 году.</p>

<p>We're always told that time is precious, there's not enough of it, if you really want something then you make time. The clocks go forward this weekend. Did you know that? Time runs out, we think we have plenty, we've planned and drawn it up. But I'm so easily distracted. I miss things. I wonder if I'm missing something else when I'm somewhere else. Have I missed out by going? Have I missed out by not going? Do I care? Why do I care? And it's all just white noise anyway. I think I need to care less. I certainly should worry less, or more. Can't decide which. There are a million blogs out there dedicated to self-timing. Help with fitting everything in, now that we all run at a million miles an hour. But without getting anywhere (don't get me started on treadmills!) I keep looking ahead to this thing, that thing, one day I'll be free. But I'll never been free, while I'm looking ahead I'm missing what's going on right now. And that's the most important time of all.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>în sfîrşit am avut şi eu timp să urmăresc ştirile de ieri seara la mai multe canale tv. mi s-a împlinit visul. îmi este interesant cît de vizibile diferenţele în politica de reflectare. vorbesc de un caz concret. ieri un liceu din Dubăsari a primit în dar un autocar din partea Parlamentului Ungariei. la postul <a href="http://www.tv7.md/?page=news&#38;id=10269&#38;lang=ro&#38;list=1" target="_blank">TV7</a>  <!--more citeşte mai mult-->a vorbit doar ambasadorul Ungariei, pe cînd la RadioMoldova şi <a href="http://www.trm.md/?module=stiri_int&#38;news_id=2121" target="_blank">Moldova-1</a> l-am putut auzi şi vedea doar pe speakerul <a href="http://parlament.md" target="_blank">Parlamentului</a>, <a href="http://www.parlament.md/structure/deputees/LUPUMarian/" target="_blank">Marian Lupu</a>, care a spus că datorită unei legi luate de Parlament s-a făcut posibil acst dar. că altfel putea să rămînă şi fără cadou liceul din Dubăsari.</p>
<p>adică măreţia nu constă în cadou, dar în faptul că acest cadou este un rezultat al activităţii eficiente a Legislativului.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Cand trebuie sa ajung din punctul A in punctul B si singura optiune este transportul public, regret enorm ca inca nu a fost inventata teleportarea. Imaginati-va, doar te gandesti unde vrei sa fii (bine, poate mai apesi un buton, iti lasi amprentele pe un touchscreen sau dai o comanda vocala :) ) si intr-o fractiune de secunda te trezesti in locul dorit! Da, as prefera sa fiu dezintegrata pana la atomi si apoi "reasamblata" in punctul de destinatie, decat sa-i mai suport pe astia.</p>
<p>Am fost mai mult pe drumuri zilele trecute (sigur, stiu ca you missed me :P) si concluzia este ca soferii, atat cei din MD, cat si cei din RO, fie ca "piloteaza" maxi-taxi-uri orin oras, fie autocare de cursa lunga, indiferent daca te delecteaza cu compania lor pe parcursul a 5 sau 500 de km, parca sunt facuti de-o mama. Sau parca au mers la aceeasi scoala, unde au invatat ceva de genul:</p>
<p>"1. Masina este domeniul tau. Tu o conduci, deci tu esti seful. Toate drepturile sunt ale tale, ceilalti (la care ne vom referi in continuare drept 'calatori' sau 'pasageri') au obligatia sa plateasca si dreptul sa... taca.</p>
<p>2. In timpul calatoriei este esential sa te simti bine. Fa atmosfera, simte-te ca acasa, pune ceva muzica. Sunt recomandate manelele, dar poti alege si altceva (desi nu vedem de ce...), important e sa fie la volum maxim si sa simti masina vibrand. Calatorii se arata deranjati? Pai asta e problema lor, nu?</p>
<p>3. Daca se intampla sa-i tai cuiva calea si respectivul nu pare prea fericit, claxoneaza-l si injura-l in gura mare, iar daca nici atunci nu se linisteste, esti liber sa cobori si sa-l iei putin de guler. Functioneaza garantat. In plus, spectatorii vor fi impresionati.</p>
<p>4. Indiferent de conditiile climaterice, nu esti deloc obligat sa faci dus mai frecvent decat o data pe saptamana. Poate vei observa la un moment dat ca locurile din fata sunt libere, iar in spate pasagerii stau cate trei pe un scaun. Dar cine poate sti ce e in capul lor? Nu le da atentie si vezi-ti de drum.</p>
<p>5. Daca e ziua de nastere a colegului tau (soferul care trebuie sa te inlocuiasca in 4 ore bla-bla) nimic nu va poate opri sa sarbatoriti chiar in drum. Sigur ai invatat deja sa tii volanul cu o singura mana. In cealalta vine foarte bine paharul, iar in pauze o poti lasa sa se odihneasca pe genunchiul amicei blonde asezate intre voi doi. Doar cand pasagerii au obosit sa va mai roage, incep sa dea semne de disperare si par in stare de lucruri nesabuite, trimite-i pe petrecareti sa continue cheful in spate fara tine. Lasa ca vine si ziua ta.</p>
<p>6. Cand ajungi la restaurantul tau preferat de pe traseu, anunta o pauza de 10 minute si mergi la masa. Mananca pe indelete si fara graba, socializeaza cu chelneritele. Rasteste-te la pasagerii care vin sa te caute peste 2 ore.</p>
<p>7. Daca urca in masina o calugarita (sau, in caz ca esti norocos, chiar un preot), butoneaza fervent pana gasesti primul post de radio religios. In timp ce asculti cu evlavie emisiuni bisericoase, poti continua sa fumezi in draci.</p>
<p>8. Apropo de fumat. Nu lasa detaliile minore (cum ar fi masina plina cu oameni, inclusiv copii, protestele calatorilor sau aluziile la fumatul pasiv care ucide) sa iti afecteze obiceiurile. Retine: muncesti in transport, nu la ocrotirea sanatatii. Bine, poti sa faci un compromis si sa deschizi geamul, pretinzand ca fumul ajunge afara, dar pasagerii se vor plange ca ii sufla, deci mai bine nici nu incerca sa le faci pe plac.</p>
<p>9. Daca se intampla sa intalnesti un amic, pentru ca drumul sa nu mai para atat de lung, depanati amintiri si impartasiti-va ultimele experiente (chiar si cele mai intime), faceti glume deocheate. Nu va sfiiti sa comentati si prezentele feminine din masina. Ar trebui sa se simta flatate.</p>
<p>10. Cand unul dintre pasageri decide sa renunte la dreptul sau din punctul 1, poti sa-l bruschezi, sa-l injuri si sa-l ameninti ca va face restul drumului pe jos. Daca nu pare impresionat, pune in aplicare amenintarea. Bineinteles, a platit si avea bilet, dar calmul tau si buna desfasurare a 'misiunii' sunt mult mai importante, chiar nepretuite."</p>
<p>Soferi din toate tarile, simtiti-va!</p>
<p>P.S. Am scris aceasta insemnare in drum de la Bucuresti spre Targu-Mures, intr-un microbuz condus de un sofer care respecta cu strictete cel putin jumatate din prevederile de mai sus si care mi-a reamintit de celelalte experiente traumatizante similare...</p>

<p>So it's a big fancy car. With a big fancy interior, and seats that will massage you as you drive (not too shabby I'll admit). And I'm curled up on the front passanger seat with chronic car sickness. I mean evil, sicky burps, sicky sweats and pallid, pasty skin. I was rocking the sick look. Poor Boyfriend. You try hard, you get the posh car... and you make your girlfriend so sick you have to take her home early. We made it to <a href="http://www.silverstone.co.uk/php/home.html">Silverstone</a>. I walked off the sickness. We headed straight home, so I could have an early night. On my own.</p>

<p>El Real Madrid perdió su segundo partido de la temporada al caer ante el Sevilla en el Sánchez Pizjuán (2-0). El equipo de Schuster, que pese a todo mantendrá el liderato, empezó bien el choque con el mismo ritmo que impuso en Mestalla en la goleada al Valencia, pero el Sevilla le plantó cara y marcó dos goles en dos minutos. El primero (minuto 18) fue un auténtico golazo obra de Keita. El centrocampista africano enganchó un disparo desde la frontal del área que se coló como un obus en la portería de Casillas. Dos minutos más tarde Luis Fabiano recogió un rechace de Casillas tras un mano a mano con Kanouté para marcar el segundo tanto. El Madrid acusó el golpe y nunca pudo con el Sevilla. Para colmo, Sergio Ramos fue expulsado al comienzo la segunda parte y ahí acabó el choque.</p>
<h2>Dos policías locales, hospitalizados tras ser agredidos por ultras</h2>
<p>Dos policías locales han sido evacuados por el 061 a las Urgencias del Hospital Virgen del Rocío de Sevilla tras haber sido agredidos por unos ultras en las inmediaciones del Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, donde esta noche se disputa el choque entre el Sevilla FC y el Real Madrid.</p>
<p>Los hechos han ocurrido poco antes de las 19.00 horas, cuando dos agentes de la Policía Local que se encontraban realizando una inspección rutinaria de un puesto ambulante de comida en las inmediaciones del estadio han visto cómo un conductor era increpado por un numeroso grupo de aficionados de fútbol, que le bloqueaban además el paso impidiéndole seguir.</p>
<p>Los dos agentes acudieron en auxilio de este conductor y fueron también insultados por los ultras, que lanzaron "en escasos segundos" unas bengalas de humareda roja y, aprovechando la confusión, arrojaron botellas, palos y otros objetos contundentes contra los policías. Al lugar de los hechos se han desplazado rápidamente refuerzos de la Policía Local que han conseguido que el grupo parara la agresión y se dispersara.</p>
<p>Los autores de este atentado a los agentes han aprovechado la confusión para salir huyendo en dirección al campo de fútbol. Según algunos testigos de los hechos, estos ultras iban vestidos con camisetas del Sevilla FC.</p>
<p>Una ambulancia del 061 ha trasladado a los dos policías heridos al Hospital Virgen del Rocío de Sevilla, en cuyas Urgencias estaban siendo sometidos, pasadas las 20.30 horas, a diferentes pruebas.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Like many of my fellow car-lovers, I've been greatly disappointed in the demonization of the Nissan Skyline. Or perhaps the term "bastardization" is more fitting. As much as I dislike admitting it, I've seen the whole of the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fast_and_the_Furious_%282001_film%29" target="_blank">Fast and Furious</a> series and I own all of the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gran_Turismo_%28video_game%29" target="_blank">Gran Turismo</a> series. Yes, I even own <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forza_Motorsport" target="_blank">Forza</a>. I have had or currently maintain subscriptions to Car and Driver, MotorTrend, R&#38;T, Automobile, Top Gear, Autocar, European Car, Makes and Models, HCI, SuperStreet, ICT, Hemmings, Hot Rods.. I think that's it.. well.. US/UK/IT/FR/SP Vogues, Rolling Stone and Forbes don't really count. But, you get the picture.</p>
<p>The Skyline's stigma is almost as bad as the stigma associated with <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Supra" target="_blank">Supras</a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Camaro" target="_blank">Camaros</a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_RX-7" target="_blank">RX7s</a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Mustang" target="_blank">Mustangs</a> and dare I say <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Civic" target="_blank">Civics</a>? It's terribly unfortunate, but what can you do when stupid jackasses amass enough money to somehow buy these vehicles and then do shit like <a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUPRA-TURBO-UNFINISHED-PROJECT-CAR_W0QQitemZ170159000740QQihZ007QQcategoryZ6447QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem" target="_blank">this</a> to them.. and <a href="http://www.goingfaster.com/spo/you_might_be_a_ricer_if.html" target="_blank">this</a>.. and <a href="http://www.ricecop.com/mirror/171986591.html" target="_blank">this</a>.. and <a href="http://www.ricecop.com/" target="_blank">this</a>.. and <a href="http://www.anti-rice.com/" target="_blank">this</a>.. and <a href="http://www.ricedrides.com/" target="_blank">this</a>.. annnnnd, my personal favourite, <a href="http://www.topgear.com/content/timetoburn/sections/carbage/pages/0532/" target="_blank">THIS</a>.</p>

<p align="left">Mind you, I'm leaving out that <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infiniti_G35" target="_blank">bastard of an excuse for a Skyline that came under the Infiniti label</a>. What an insult that was. That piece of shite blob of a car. Though, the latest iteration, the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infiniti_G37" target="_blank">G37</a> is a bit sex. Just a bit. Just slightly. Maybe.</p>

<p align="left">The power numbers are quite impressive. But, for whatever reason, I think (or maybe hope) the front end is fake on the new leaked shots. It just looks like a chop job of a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_350Z" target="_blank">350Z front end</a>. I love the rear and the chiseled sides. However, those headlamps are just gag-worthy.</p>
<p align="left">For me, the R34 is very much like the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Supra#Mark_IV_.281993-2002.29" target="_blank">Supra IV</a> and the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_RX7#Third_generation_.28FD.29" target="_blank">RX-7 FD</a>, those models all evolved to such a point of perfection that any other tweak or redesign wouldn't amount to ANYTHING. If any change were to be applied, it would in fact RUIN and TAKE AWAY from what it was. Sadly, the brilliance of the designers behind those specific model generations also brought on their demise. Where is there to go from the top other than down?</p>
<p align="left">I'm not really sure what kind of headlamps I'd like to see on the Nissan GT-R. Probably something closer to the R34. Less radical, but still progressive. I also think the hard edge that slashes across the front fenders needs to be softened in more of a road car fashion. That "competition car" widebody look is too ricer for the street.</p>
<p align="left">Anyway, this is very exciting. It would be nice to see a battle between the new Skyline, a new Supra and new RX. That way if the Americans drop the ball with the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodge_Challenger_Concept" target="_blank">Challenger</a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fifth-generation_Chevrolet_Camaro" target="_blank">Camaro</a>, et cetera, we'll still have something to look forward to.</p>

<p>I like this. I think the message is clear, and well shot, the editing is sound. It's put together well (is basically what I'm saying). Especially like the slow-mo young girl at the start, and the track (<a href="http://www.myspace.com/simianfans">LA breeze</a> by <a href="http://www.wearesimian.com/">Simian</a> - who are now <a href="http://www.myspace.com/simianmobiledisco">Simian Mobile Disco</a>)</p>
<p>Have to wonder at the message though - is Dove genuinely interested in this self-esteem message, or are the trying to get customers who do care about this sort of thing. Is it a real attempt to get back to true <a href="http://www.publications.bham.ac.uk/birmingham_magazine/b_magazine1996-99/b99_22.htm">community/corporate values</a> or just another way to sucker us into buying a product because 'it's different'. It's still a global name which is part of the industry, one that is trying to place itself in the light of 'different'.</p>
<p>Dove is owned by <a href="http://www.unilever.com/ourbrands/beautyandstyle/default.asp">Unilever</a> and they're out to make money (like all other business). But you know what - I've been trying to find some dirt and so far I can't (please correct me all!!). So maybe they are a genuine community interested company. Hopefully. Can't help but feel horribly cynical about it. And then buy Dove. Damnit - I've been drawn in!</p>
<p>But this 90 seconds of Ed-vert (educational advert, yuk - who comes up with these things? Are they well paid?) raises a lot of fantastic questions; why are young girls portrayed as innocence, light and delicate - whereas young women (I hope) are meant to be sexy, perfect, weightless and sensual. Perhaps this is why teenage girls are so confused, vulnerable and open to suggestions of surgery and suffer more from <a href="http://www.b-eat.co.uk/ProfessionalStudentResources/Studentinformation-1/SomeStatistics">eating disorders than any other age group</a>. A terrifying ordeal awaits those approaching puberty these days. Be a child and be sexy? Go to bed a child and wake up a woman? And what a woman you have to be! Talk about hard work.</p>
<p>Isn't this young girl already being sucked into the system? If she's already an actress (and let's face it, she is, she's in the ed-vert) she'll be under more pressure than most to conform to get work and become a 'success'. If you google actress and conform - you are greeted with a host of articles about how soandso is great because she doesn't. But I still see more pretty able-bodied slim women on the screens than not... and I'm going to be shallow and admit that I do enjoy watching them, though rarely. Ug. I suppose I could start to question if that's me, or becoming used to it after years of having it forced at me, but I won't. Because that's a little tawdry and dull frankly.</p>
<p>After all this is the BEAUTY industry. Wouldn't it be weird if they weren't obsessed with appearance? Seems to me that a good message to make people the best that they can be has given way to making someone the best that they can be a judged by 'society'. Buy 'society' there I mean as the media portrays the whole lot of us. I would like to think that the women I know wouldn't be affected by that. I think all women have the capacity to be beautiful - as my esteemed friend says "perfection is not about looks, it's about how you look at someone", if we allow ourselves this.</p>
<p>I think I'm very lucky - I'm not mal-formed and I'm happy in my body (as far as that goes, would still enjoy being able to attend a gym regularly), but it seems that the vast majority of women aren't. Is that Dove's message? Ignore the industry Dove will help you feel better about your fatness. Dove can hug you and hold you when you cry after reading the latest Cosmo and feeling inadequate about the length of your legs/lashes/heels. Maybe they're being more subtle than this...</p>
<p>It's no good blaming an industry though, we built that industry by allowing it to get out of hand and still buying the mags and believing the bullshit. Didn't we? Or did they lead us?</p>
<p>Ultimately this can only be a step in the right direction - while the dangers of lip-service are ever-present I can't help but feel that other companies should follow suit. Clever marketing Dove. Well done you.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Trec la jurnalul de bord! Alt weekend, alta calatorie. De data asta, una dintre cele mai scurte si mai obositoare, mai ales pentru un stomac sensibil ca al meu. Timp de 12 ore de mers cu autocarul, am ucis in gand multe si pe multi ("prietenii stiu de ce!" :D) din cauza buclucasului organ care se razvratea la fiecare curba sau frana... Desi am incercat sa il pacalesc printr-un somn profund - ceea ce mi-a adus aminte de copilarie, atunci cand bunica ma obliga sa dorm la pranz iar eu imi tineam respiratia asteptand cu nerabdare ca ea sa adoarma prima si apoi eu sa ma subtilizez din pat, de langa ea si sa stau cu bunicul la bucatarie, sa il ascult povestindu-mi din alta copilarie, mai veche si mai frumoasa, a lui - n-am avut prea mare succes - ca si in copilarie de altfel, cand bunica-mea ma prindea si ma intorcea langa ea, in pat - "raul de masina" - ca si "raul de mare" - m-a lasat in pace de-abia atunci cand am simtit pamantul tare sub picioare. Pamantul Greciei (de cand vroiam sa il ating!) m-a intampinat cu un aer umed, parfumat si firesc, parca spunandu-mi: "Asta sunt eu! Stiai asta!". M-am aplecat sa il sarut si atunci am vazut cu ochii mintii - dupa mult timp si foarte clar! - fata bunicului meu, zambind. :) Gestul mi l-am ascuns de ceilalti din grup, mascand ca imi leg siretul la pantof, desi in visele mele, bucuria de a imbratisa pamantul lui, o exprimam liber, cu lacrimi in ochi ca totul sa para cat mai veridic. Dar ratiunea mi-a soptit ca ar fi fost mult prea patetic acum. Mai ales in aceste vremuri, ale noastre, fara interdictii mari la granite, cu atatia romani care umplu statiunile si sufletul Greciei. Kalithea ne-a intampinat cu pensiunile sale scunde, de maxim 2-3 etaje, varuite in alb si albastru, frumos asortate cu palmierii, smochinii si maslinii de prin gradini si cu terasele-restaurant la care se mananca fructe de mare si salate autohtone, din care rasuna sirtaki-ul si unde chelnerii te servesc prompt, fiecare parand un Zorba in felul lui. Am avut noroc ca fiind sfarsit de sezon, statiunea a fost mai putin populata si am auzit si greceste, nu numai romaneste - cum imi imaginez ca a fost probabil in august. Am dat si de bazarul cu suveniruri, in stil "european" (stiti la ce "Europa" ma refer!), dar si de patiseriile grecesti, cu miere si nuca din abundenta. :) Ne-am servit cu masura din ambele categorii de produse, incercand sa pastram mai multi bani pentru tzatziki-ul si scoicile de la restaurant. :P Dupa ce am gustat Grecia si am facut o plimbare scurta, de seara, am avut de furca cu un fluture imens care ne intrase in camera si parea ca invidiaza cearceafurile noastre albe si camera calda. Dupa mai multe lupte, tipete si chin, am reusit sa il salvam cu viata - si sa ne salvam si noi somnul! - gonindu-l afara pe geam dupa ce il prinsesem in perdea. A doua zi de dimineata, plaja ne-a primit aproape pustie - un singur pescar pe dig si mai tarziu, tot ce a stricat linistea si bucuria noastra - un atv-ist cu chelie :D -, cu apa limpede si calda in care unii dintre noi s-au aruncat direct, nerabdatori, iar altii au asteptat intai sa bea cafeaua si sa manace croissant-ul de dimineata. Apoi, nu prea am mai iesit din apa. Am ras mult, am facut poze, am barfit. O pauza mica de tzatziki cu scoici, suveniruri repede-repede, apoi iar in apa. Ne-a fascinat tot timpul geamandura, o bila galbena si mare ca un al doilea soare, spre care tot am innotat ca 3 fluturi cu aripile deschise... ne-am speriat de un scanfandru, am ras de pestii care ne muscau de picioare daca stateai nemiscat in apa si am cules pietre. Ziua a trecut repede si ne-am trezit ca alergam spre autocar ca sa nu intarziem in preluarea turistilor, ultimii turisti romani de pe plajele grecesti care se intorceau acasa. Data viitoare, va fi drumul mai scurt si sederea mai lunga. Grecia, efharisto! :)</p>

Surely any real Judge, with real concerns for the law and it's use (and misuse) would throw this sort of case out of court. It makes a great soap opera, but gives the appearance that the US legal system is run by a bunch of crass money grabbing bastards. </p>
<p>Basically this Judge (should he even be a Judge?!) is suing a dry-cleaning service for $65M. I mean. The trousers were only $800 and they found them again anyway. Fat Bastard.</p>
<p>Hmmm. I know I've posted 2 anti-US things here recently. Don't get me wrong please. I don't really have enough experience of the US to judge the US, though I fully intend to live there at some point - if I can find the right job of course.</p>
