What would you give to have this many minifigures. This is from a display at brickfair.

This is a new fairy castle - already have a few orders for this one even though noones seen it yet! Still working on a few variations of this though - think it might look better with a pink and white checks around the whole of the outside?, any suggestions welcome.

My fascination with boxes is a mystery to Mom and Dad, and though I often ignore their giggles and snorts when they find me relaxing in a perfectly usable getaway, I find joy in boxes—the smell, the texture, the lair like qualities. Though I have no nails to dig into the walls, I love the feel of the smooth cardboard on my pads, and the aroma of the packing peanuts that once inhabited it. (Perhaps I was formerly known as Captain for a reason.)

Mom, a lover of boxes herself, decided one day to make a special house for her King. She is a maker of delightful messes, which I believe you bipeds call an artist. She's always leaving interesting things on the floor for me to chew on, sit on, rub on, hide behind, and smell.

But my house . . . my house . . .

The King deserves a castle, and so I had a little talk with Mom. Luckily, she speaks Cat and knew exactly what I wanted to do. So I waited, watched, waited, napped, ate, pooped, and watched some more. When she showed me the new place I almost lost my whiskers! I gave Mom the best round of biscuits she'd ever had that night, and serenaded her with her favorite thing; my purr. I even let her carry me around over her shoulder (not my favorite thing, but for some reason I always come back for more.)

Anymyow, my new pad is the bomb kiggity! Three rooms, two floors, all brick, and a sun deck. Windows, window boxes, wall to wall carpeting and even some sweet tags on the side. This is a true castle for the TRUE KING.

I have no idea what the reasons are behind the closure. I will say it is pretty amazing what the power of a blog can do. I can't really take all the credit for this, but only because I don't know why they ended up closing. ;) I really have no ill feelings towards anyone personally, but someone who is in a position to take care of our beautiful children should be under the highest scrutiny and realize that such a business needs to be run with integrity and consistency, not to mention following the standards and practices set forth by the State Government and other agencies.

To those who may have anonymously taken some part in this situation, thank you. It's you folks that really make us parents feel safe about leaving our children in the hands of other people. My hope is that others who have experienced this sort of problem, whether in child care or otherwise, will make the effort to bring forward these issues. Be careful not to exaggerate or "slander" by being untrue. Remember, blogging is a new force and it can be a powerful tool.

Wensleydale sheep are a rare breed of Longwool sheep whose population numbers went into severe decline during the 20th century when wool declined steeply in value.  The have amazing long dreadlocks of very fine wool.  It can be liked to mohair in terms of its lustre and texture and is highly prized amongst spinners and knitters alike.

The older I get the more I've given myself permission to be a complete girly girl from time to time. Pink seems to be the way I express that. You should see my bedroom. It looks like someone barffed Pepto Bismol in there. I pity and adore the man who dares to enter. The right man will deal with it. He's a MAN. He may not love it, but he can handle it. Amen.

Oddly, pink does not come naturally to me. I grew up lime green--shag carpet, checked curtains, everything. I never had, nor ever wanted that fluffy birthday party above. I wouldn't have been caught dead in pink when I was a kid. NEVER. In my 20s I gave over to black, goth before goth had a name, then denounced it in my 30s, except for cocktail parties. Now I like most colors, still green, with a little secret pension for pink. It feels so daring.  

I didn't get that birthday cake today, although there's no reason I can't make it for myself. I like to bake and my birthday can last as long as I want it to, right?  I did however buy myself a gift today,  not necessarily in the birthday category, but whatever: a new remote control--because I AM the queen of my castle, and as such don't ever have to share the remote. I can watch Spike TV, HGTV or as many episodes of Burn Notice as i can locate. Any. Time. I want. The only thing that would make this baby better is if it came in pink. ;-)

Today, after I took the hardest German placement test of all time, Austin and I walked up to the Heidelberg castle.  It is only a 5-10 minute walk to the gardens surrounding the castle and then you can continue all the way around until you are at the very top.  But, it is the steepest road that I have ever seen before!  I don't know how anyone can drive a stick shift here.The picture doesn't give it justice.  Trust me, it's steeper than it looks.

Here is a little background on the castle (courtesy of the Lonely Planet Germany Guidebook):  The partly-ruined, red sandstone castle is one of Germany's finest gothic-Renaissance fortresses.  Begun in he 13th century, the oldest surviving bits date from 1400.  The Renaissance Schlosshof (courtyard) is so elaborately decorated it often elicits a gasp from visitors.  The terrace affords superb views of the town and the Neckar.  Off the courtyard is the Deutsches Apothekenmuseum (German Pharmacy Museum) which has well-presented exhibits on chemistry and pharmacology in centuries past.  Signs are in English.  The 18th century Grosses Fass (Great Vat) is said to be capable of holding more than 220,000 Liters.  Even the Kleines Fass (Small Vat) is not exactly tiny.  Behind the castle, the Schlossgarten (castle garden) is a delightful place for a stroll.  The Pulver Turm (Gunpowder Tower) was damaged by French forces in 1693.

Mark Twain also wrote about the castle in "A Tramp Abroad."

Anyway, the castle was fun to just walk around and it had beautiful sights of the city.  We'll definitely have to go back and pay to see the inside someday when we have a little bit more time.

I thank the Lord that also this year he offers me the possibility to pass some days of rest in the mountains, and I am grateful to those who have welcomed me here in Lorenzago, in this enchanting panorama in which the summit of Mount Cadore forms the background and where my beloved predecessor John Paul II visited several times.

I offer a special thanks to the bishop of Treviso and the bishop of Belluno-Feltre, and to all who in various ways are contributing to assure me a serene and profitable sojourn. Before this scene of meadows, of woods, of peaks ascending toward heaven, the desire to praise God for the marvel of his works spontaneously arises in the soul and easily transforms itself into prayer.

Every good Christian knows that vacations are an opportune time to stretch one's body and to nourish the spirit in more ample spaces of prayer and meditation, to grow in one's personal relationship with Christ, and to conform more and more to his teachings. Today, for example, the liturgy invites us to reflect on the celebrated parable of the Good Samaritan (cf. Luke 10:25-37), that introduces love for God and neighbor into the heart of the evangelical message.

But who is my neighbor? Jesus' interlocutor asks. And the Lord answers, reversing the question, showing through the story of the Good Samaritan that each one of us must be the neighbor of each person we meet. "Go and do the same!" (Luke 10:37). To love, Jesus says, is to conduct oneself like the Good Samaritan. We know that Jesus is the Good Samaritan par excellence: Although he was God, he did not hesitate to abase himself to the point of becoming man and giving his life for us.

Love, therefore, is the "heart" of Christian life; in fact, only the love awakened in us by the Holy Spirit renders us witnesses to Christ.

I wanted to re-propose this important spiritual truth in the message for the 23rd World Youth Day, which will be made known next Friday, July 20: "You will receive power from the Holy Spirit, who will descend upon you" (Acts 1:8).

This is what I invite you to reflect on in the next months, dear young people, to prepare for our big meeting in Sydney, Australia, that, precisely in these days of July, will take place one year from now. The Christian communities of that beloved nation are actively working to welcome you and I am grateful to them for their efforts in organizing.

Let us entrust to Mary, who tomorrow we will invoke as the Virgin of Mount Carmel, the preparation and unfolding of the next meeting with the young people of the whole world, to which I invite you, dear friends of every continent.

The series stars Alyssa Milano as Lou, Annie Potts as Elizabeth, Beau Bridges as Joe, Amanda Detmer as Sasha, Meagen Fay as Nancy and Eric Winter as Charlie. Based on her own experiences, "Single with Parents" is executive-produced and written by Kristin Newman. Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank and Matthew Carlson are also executive producers. The show is produced by FTP Productions in association with ABC Studios.

ABC ANNOUNCES FIVE NEW SERIES PICK-UPS

New Series Include "Better Off Ted," "Castle," "Cupid," "Single with Parents" and "The Unusuals"

ABC is adding five new series to its slate of programming for the 2008-09 season, it was announced today by Stephen McPherson, president, ABC Entertainment. The series include three new dramas, "Castle," "Cupid" and "The Unusuals," and two new comedies, "Better Off Ted" and "Single with Parents."

"It was worth taking the time to go through the pilot process to really do it right," said McPherson. "We're excited about these series and feel they're perfect additions to our dominant core slate of shows. These are the initial pick-ups, but there are a number of other pilots we feel will also get the go ahead in some form moving forward."

New series previously announced are drama "Life on Mars," comedies "The Goode Family" and "Scrubs" (new to ABC), and alternative series "Opportunity Knocks" and "Untitled Ashton Kutcher/Tyra Banks Project."

Of course because Sintra is especial. Especial for everybody, especial for those who like to eat, for those who like monuments, for nature and greenpeace freaks, for people interested in witchcraft (yes, Sintra is Also associated with that), for those who like tea or simply for those who just want to take a walk.

During summer time, or not, it's always a pleasent place where you easily forget you're just 20min away from the capital.

Anywho, nothing like experiecing it, so please, visit it! (Although I'm writing a different post for every monument in Sintra, (oh, by the way, this one is about the Pena Palace) they are all worth it. Visit them all!!)

Pena, or feather, Palace, as you wish, is the biggest palace in Sintra and was the first romantic Palace in Europe. The palace was built in 1836 by D. Fernando Coburgo-Gota (later king of Portugal), married to Queen Maria II.

As you can see by the pictures, its architecture is a true delight :)  a mix of: 1) neo-gothic, 2) neo-manueline, 3) islamic and 4) neo-renaissance. Oh, and it stands on rocks ;)

This morning I remember two dreams- "Castle game" and one called "teenagers biggest fears" They both are little bit lame and makes a nonsense, but I have to write something so that I keep my promise.

I played a computer game with castle in it. I was owner of that castle. There were small group of people who lived in castle. One day some kind o "Man in Black" arrived and killed them all. But they left me alone. I started to sap iron. I made couple machine-guns.

Then a lot of ghosts came from wall, they were really happy. Ghosts tried to escape from castle, but I made some of them the Neanderthal mans and others gorillas. they killed each other. There were some ghosts who survived. I sent them to heaven.

We were driving from some hangout to home. All family in the car. I had a laptop in my hands. And I accidentally opened the downloaded files folder. There were a couple of porno movies and some sort of tutorials about alcohol. My family saw that and started to laugh about me. And I thought that it is the end of the world.

Bisher nur als Windhauch spürbar hat er zwar schon einige Monster aus unserem Haus verjagt, aber bisher war er nicht zu sehen. Nun ist mir dieses unglaubliche Foto geglückt.

Dunny findet allerdings, dass das Licht ihn etwas zu alt macht. Mindestens 500 Jahre, meint er.
