Futuro incierta Zanatta

René Zanatta se reunirá hoy con Rodolfo Di Meglio para analizar su continuidad dentro del TC. Los malos resultados, sumado a que la mayoría de sus Sponsors pertenecen al agro, y aún no regularizaron su situación tras el conflicto con el Gobierno, ponen en riesgo su futuro.

Salvo la Dodge de Jonatan Castellano, el resto de los autos de la marca aún no le encontró la vuelta a este 2008.

René Zanatta corre con Dodge y está dentro de ese grupo (está 43ero en el campeonato con 8,5 unidades).

Por estas horas, el experimentado corredor analiza su futuro dentro de la máxima. Hoy, tendrá un cónclave con Rodolfo Di Meglio (chasista) y juntos buscarán la alternativa más viable para que pueda seguir en el TC.

Más allá de lo deportivo, también existe otra traba que podría dejar al rafaelino fuera de la categoría más popular. Si bien el Campo ganó la puja en el Congreso por las retenciones móviles, el conflicto dejó sus secuelas en el sector agrario, que son quienes apoyan a René a través de patrocinios, y éste sería otro factor determinante.

La resolución no tardará en llegar.

Girolami prueba en 9 de Julio

El próximo martes, Néstor Girolami, probará en 9 de Julio con el equipo DC Perfomance alistando lo que será su retorno a la categoría en la 10ª fecha conduciendo la Dodge que llevará la motorización de Claudio Garofalo.

Cada vez falta menos para el regreso del piloto cordobés a la especialidad, por este motivo, el martes la estructura de Salto viajará al circuito bonaerense para llevar a cabo un nuevo ensayo sobre el vehículo que estará presente en Río Cuarto.

Si bien en los días previos a Rafaela, Girolami giró sobre la Dodge, ambas partes entendieron que debían dejar la 9º fecha para seguir ganando experiencia en forma conjunta y apuntar todas las fuerzas al compromiso en el circuito cordobés.

Durante la prueba, se analizarán diferentes elementos aerodinámicos y de puesta a punto, además de trabajar en la parte motriz junto a Claudio Garofalo quien también formará parte de este nuevo proyecto deportivo.

Paparella: “Tenemos un auto para dar pelea”

Un trabajo positivo, cumplimentó Juan Manuel Paparella en Rafaela, ocupando el 8º lugar durante la final conduciendo en buena manera su Dodge asistida técnicamente por Rodolfo Di Meglio y motorizada por Alfredo “Gardelito” Fernández.

“Queda el gusto de que podíamos haber estado un poco más adelante, nos complicó la rotura de un amortiguador en la final, nos costaba mucho doblar en las curvas hacia la derecha” afirmó el joven capitalino una vez terminada su participación en Rafaela.

“En las primeras vueltas, giramos más rápido que la punta, teníamos un auto bárbaro para todo el fin de semana. Se nos complicó en la serie pero hicimos un cambio y el auto volvió a aparecer” destacó el encargado de conducir la Dodge que asiste el equipo Top Dos junto a Rodolfo Di Meglio y Gardelito Fernández..

“Estamos contentos por haber llegado, pero lástima el problema del amortiguador, porque sino podíamos terminar un poco más adelante en el clasificador final” destacó Paparella.

”Desde la primer carrera en Mar de Ajó, el auto está para dar pelea, se nos viene complicando por algunas malas clasificaciones pero los más importante es que la herramienta la tenemos y apostamos a funcionar de la mejor manera en Río Cuarto” finalizó la charla con nuestro portal quien finalizó 8º en la novena final del año en el veloz trazado santafesino.

El equipo AB Racing ha culminado con todos los preparativos para una nueva fecha del TC Mouras, y su piloto, Alejandro Berganza, encara con expectativas la octava competencia del año este fin de semana.
“En este receso, el equipo ha trabajado mucho en la Dodge. Se han cambiado los canalizadores, pintamos nuevamente el auto para emprolijarlo y le hemos también suplantado las puertas y los pontones, además de realizar el repaso normal previo a cada carrera. La idea para este fin de semana fue alivianar un poco de peso en el auto. En cuanto a mis objetivos, apostamos a mejorar fecha tras fecha, y sería muy importante poder llegar y sumar buenos puntos para ascender algunas posiciones en el campeonato. Agradezco al equipo y los sponsor que nos acompañan en el proyecto”, comentó Berganza, que de esta forma se ilusiona con poder tener un buen fin de semana en La Plata

Intensa tarea en la base de operaciones de los constructores-proyectistas, Uranga- Romera, en la calle Ameghino casi Beretervide de la ciudad de Tandil, sobre la nueva coupé Dodge que conducirá Ariel Robbiani en su retorno al Turismo Carretera en la competencia a disputarse en el Autódromo de Río Cuarto.

Además del equipo UR Racing, se hallan sumando esfuerzos para terminar la máquina, cuatro colaboradores de Robbiani Competición. Muchas son las horas que el grupo de trabajo le esta dedicando a la culminación del auto del chillarense, para volver como importante protagonista a las huestes teceístas. La motorización de la máquina tendrá la responsabilidad de Oscar “Pincho” Castellano, y la atención del vehículo del UR Racing. De esta manera, Robbiani se suma al “staff” de los dos equipos, afincados en Lobería y Tandil, aunque el piloto de Chillar, conformará un grupo satélite.-

The End of Convertiblism

I had been seriously second-guessing my decision to purchase the PT Loser from the time I brought it home. At the time of purchase, it was simply my intention to dump my Explorer in exchange for something that got better mileage, was fun to drive, and had affordable payments. (Note: If gas prices were still reasonable, I would have never gotten rid of my Explorer.)

The truth is that I was never happy with the PT Loser despite whatever I may have said about it here. In fact, you can see some reasons why I didn’t like it in this post. In addition to the reasons mentioned in that post, Anthony never liked having the top down—ever. And quite frankly, I didn’t feel very safe with him back there in top-down mode.

Not only that, but it seemed to me that the only people I ever saw driving convertibles were balding fat guys in their 50s wearing sunglasses, Hawai’ian shirts, baseball caps and listening to Jimmy Buffett. Chances are they'd also wear a Speedo to the beach. Not exactly my crowd of peeps.

Summarization: convertiblism was more of a novelty, not a way of life for me.

Then there was the PT Loser’s performance, which was lackluster at best. Suffice it to say but after owning a Dodge Caliber and PT Cruiser, the Chrysler Corporation had ruined my love of driving and my expectations of what a car should be, and they can smoke a great, big flaming dick for that. Granted, Dr. Z wasn’t standing behind me with a Glock pointed at my head while I was singing the paperwork so I’ll just admit to my own stupidity, swallow my pride and proclaim the following: Dodge products are pure shit. Hell, my 1991 Nissan Sentra four-speed was more fun to drive than either the Caliber or PT Loser.

So last night we went to the Ford dealer where I’d purchased many a vehicle, dealt with the same guy I’d dealt with each time, and came home in a 2005 Lincoln LS. This is the car Ann had wanted from the moment she saw it but at time they were new, the price tag of $31,000 was pretty steep.

But let’s just say that if a dealership has only sold one car on any given day and they are dealing with repeat-repeat-repeat-repeat customers just before closing time, they will do whatever it takes to sell Car Number 2.

And that’s just what they did.

So long, convertiblism. We shall never cross paths again.

ra ra riot - who says playing cello won't land you a job in rock

Dodge at MyOldKentuckyBlog today posted about a band that I've been meaning to write about - Ra Ra Riot.

Out of Syracuse, Ra Ra Riot does something I recently wrote about - takes indie music beyond two guitars, a base and a drum. RRR is a five-person lineup, and two of them play classic stringed instruments - Alexandra Lawn on cello and Rebecca Zeller on violin.

One immediate way a band gets my attention is to bring something new or different to the table. By having a violin and cello, RRR is already begging for a listen by showing incorporating two untraditional instruments in their indie format.

As Dodge points out, they'll be touring for much of September and October. If you haven't had the fortune to hear them, check out "Each Year at Our Graves."

...and "Dying if Fine." And no, they don't have a Smiths-like fascination with all things depressing - although their original drummer did turn up dead after going missing last June. Not sure if there's any relation between that and these two songs.

Dodge desarrollo el motor R6-P8 antes de lo previsto

Dodge al ver que su motor no se mostró competitivo en todas las competencias de la Nascar ha estado desarrollando el R6-P8, un motor con mejores características que su antecesor el R5-P7 y que se dice ya tendrá su debut en la competencias del chase. El motor ha sido desarrollado gracias a la ingeniería de Dodge Motorsports en colaboración de los equipos que corren con carros Dodge en Nascar: Evernham Motorsports, Petty Enterprises, Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates y Penske Racing South.

El debut de este motor estaba previsto para el 2010, pero Dodge acelero su desarrollo para que los equipos tengan carros mas competitivos en las carreras, su debut solo depende de cuanto se demore el montaje en el Charger. Dodge fabricara cerca de 500 motores para poder cubrir las necesidades de los 6 equipos que corren con sus motores en Nascar durante un año.

El motor R6-P8 será mas competitivo y se trabajo en conjunto para cubrir el problema de la regularidad de los Dodge en competencia, debido a los problemas de refrigeración que se han visto en el R5-P7.

Ahora solo basta que los ingenieros y personal de taller del equipo Ganassi logre darle una buena y rápida lectura al nuevo motor para que Dodge logre ser protagonista en mas pistas..

As vendas das marcas Chrysler, Dodge e Jeep cresceram 33% neste ano. O salto foi alcançado graças às 3.096 unidades vendidas no período, enquanto o primeiro semestre de 2007 registrou vendas de 2.323 veículos. O destaque vai para o sedan de grande porte Chrysler 300c, que totalizou 354 unidades comercializadas desde janeiro, o dobro do mesmo período ano passado. O sucesso do 300C se deve, principalmente, à chegada do motor V6, em fevereir deste ano.

Quem cresceu também foi o modelo Chrysler PT Cruiser, com 1.389 unidades comercializadas de janeiro a junho, um resultado 45,7% superior a 2007. A minivan Town&Country superou as vendas da antecessora Grand Caravan, com 161 unidades comercializadas no varejo desde que foi lançada no mercado brasileiro, em fevereiro; assim como o Jeep Cherokee Sport, que também ganhou visual renovado, superou a geração anterior, com 212 unidades vendidas.

By now everybody has heard of the new Dodge Challenger. If you haven't heard about it you must be living under a rock. It is the new beast from Dodge. Everyone also knows what happens next, the wild and crazy people that buy them make videos of themselves doing some crazy stuff. Burnouts, racing,etc..., people will be doing it and they will be recording it.

We decided to create a website designed for those people to post there videos, or any videos they may find about the new Challenger. At ChallengerVideos.com, you can view and upload videos of your choice for everyone else to enjoy. You can even upload pictures and audio as well. We will also allow other car videos as long as there isn't any nudity involved.

When you first visit the site you will notice that there are not many videos yet, that is because we just launched it and we are still editing the site. We would love for this site to become the main site people go to find videos of the new Dodge Challenger. ChallengerVideos.com is a free site that is run out of our pockets. When we get a large number of members we might be able to get some advertising spots. We will also be starting a video competition when users can vote on the best video each month. "This is quite possibly the rarest and most collectible Mopar in existence! The 1st Daytona. This is vin: 355101, the lowest vin#, the first Charger taken from production to be turned into a Daytona. This is the real deal here! Verified by Galen. This car has undergone an extensive rotisserie restoration down to every nut and bolt. Immaculately restored from top to bottom, inside and out. This is definately a car worth of such! It retains its original Dana 60 and original #s 4 speed. Correct warranty motor. #s block was not with car. Supposedly changed out back in the early '70's. I went back with the white interior to match the white wing since it looks so much better. Orig. interior was blue. B5 blue white wing car, 4 speed/Dana. Everything completely rebuilt, painted , etc, other than just dash guages. This is a car that deserves to be the centerpiece of any Mopar collection! Car is nearing completion.
