concludo il discorso Pidgin con le smiley originali di Messenger e qualche tricks finale. Fatto 30, si fa' 31!!

Le smiley origininali di MSN potete scaricarle da qui. Per installarle basta trascinare l'archivio tar.gz appena scaricato nella finestra che si apre, cliccando sul menu di Pidgin Strumenti->Preferenze->Tema degli smiley .

Trick 1: C'e' un'opzione molto comoda che fa' lampeggiare l'icona di Pidgin nella traybar quando si riceve un messaggio: click con il tasto destro del mouse sull' icona di Pidgin nella traybar->Lampeggia all'arrivo di nuovi messaggi . Ebbene le icone per Pidgin che ho consiglio di usare qui, fanno lampeggiare un simbolo di errore che sta ad indicare che l'icona non e' stata trovata!! L'icona effettivamente non e' presente nel set di icone. Per sistemare questo fastidiossimo inconveniente ho fatto due icone:

Potete salvarle cliccandoci sopra con il tasto destro del mouse->Salva immagine con nome . Quella delle due che preferite, va salvata nella cartella /usr/local/share/pixmaps/pidgin/traybar/22 con il nome tray-new-im.png   . Potete dare da root il comando nautilus per fare tutto agevolmente.

Trick 2: il trillo si fa scrivendo /nudge nella finestra di conversazione!!

Trick 3: ho notato che, se non si salva un messaggio personale che usiamo, non c'e' piu' modo di cancellarlo! Dev'essere un bug che verra' sistemato al piu' presto ma intanto i messaggi personali si accumulano e danno fastidio... Per cancellarli, basta editare il file ~/.purple/status.xml, che contiene appunto tutti i messaggi personali inseriti in pidgin. Un messaggio personale e' salvato nel file  status.xml in questo modo:

Ogni messaggio comincia comincia con <status name e finisce con </status>, li ho evidenziati con un rettangolo azzurro e per la cronaca si chiamano tag . In rosso ho sottolineato lo stato associato al messaggio, e il messaggio vero e proprio: come avrete gia' intuito, per rimuovere un messaggio basta cancellare da <status name a </status>, compresi. Attenzione: Pidgin deve essere CHIUSO prima di modificare il file, altrimenti le modifiche non avranno alcun effetto.

poi evolutesi in dinamiche, poi diventate surrealismo puro.

L'ultima frontiera sono i pupazzetti usb da collegare al pc.
Questi cosi reagirebbero all'attività dei vostri contatti,
segnalandovi trilli, faccine e in qualche caso l'assetto
di guerra dei vostri amichetti online.

Qualcuno nelle vicinanze vi disturba? Soffre di sindrome da rientro?
La mamma urla? Il gatto vi riempie di peli?
Eh? Eh? Eh?

Ecco la soluzione più elegante (dotata di webcam)
per ovviare ai tanti fastidij umani:

l'indispensabile oggetto, come potete ammirare, è dotato di simpaticissime alucce...
e le alucce sbattono davvero!
Io proporrei anche di arricchirlo di un piccolo circuito elettrico per farlo funzionare
come scaldavivande e come micro-ventilatore (d-mail ci ha già pensato! Con questo e questo!)
Il suo costo oscilla dai 14 ai 20 e più euri, perciò occhio alle fregature.

Also rumoured are emoticons for messaging and the ability to disable the auto-correction function. I'm not one for lots of icons in messages but there are time they can come in useful, and being able to turn off auto-correct would definitely be handy when I'm typing a technical message.

Still missing is the push alerts system that Steve Jobs demonstrated at WWDC08, and there's no information on whether this feature will make it into V2.2.

It is unclear if these will be made available on this firmware release or for a following one. It is also yet unknown if Softbank participated in the creation process, allowing the iPhone not only to send, but also receive emoji from other Japanese carriers on the i.softbank.jp e-mail address. 

Currently, sending emoji through the iPhone is only possible through a webapp.

Meine Wenigkeit wurde von iBOT (einem Universalgenie sondergleichen) auserwählt um das zu verfassen, was der Endverbraucher nun hier als Produkt genießen kann. Wie bei obigem Titel nicht anders zu erwarten handelt es sich bei diesem geistigen Erguss um Kritik in ihrer reinsten Form. Pazifistische Mimosen sollten sich demnach hüten weiterzulesen.

Wer kennt sie nicht? Die haxx0r-ghetto-smilie-chatter-Sprache. Jeder "Satz" beinhaltet mindestens 2 Smilies, 5 unnötige Anglizismen und wird in den meisten Fällen mit "*gg*" beendet. Nicht überflüssig ist meist auch der Hinweis, dass Satzzeichen keinesfalls Rudeltiere sind - aber wozu verlorene Energie investieren um auch auf dieses niveaureduzierende Detail aufmerksam zu machen? Sätze semantisch korrekt abzutippen, sowie ein eloquenter Ausdruck scheint aus der Mode zu sein - ja, mittlerweile ist es peinlich, wenn man sich richtig artikulieren kann. 10jährigere Kinder benutzen mathematische Hilfsymbole (z.B.: "^^") um japanische Emoticons nachzustellen, könnten allerdings keinesfalls 10 hoch 5 oder gar die Wurzel aus 25 berechnen, was ja [auch wenn es vielleicht einige Leser hier fordert (...)] nun wirklich keine sonderlich diffizile Aufgabe ist.

Um nach (unter anderem) überflüssigen Süßholzgeraspel auf den Punkt zu kommen: Eine Subkultur wie die des Internets kennen wir in diesem Extrem nicht einmal aus Amerika. Wenn man einem Österreicher vor 10 Jährigen gesagt hätte, dass die amerikanische Kulturlosigkeit zu übertreffen ist hätte selbiger einem lachend den Vogel gezeigt. Das Internet ist somit faktisch, als Produkt der Globalisierung, für die völlige Verwahrlosung der Sprachgewohnheiten der Generation "LoL" verantwortlich, welche inzwischen schon im Schulunterricht mit inkohärentem Wortbrei und unnötigen Anglizismen glänzt.

Lässt man diese nun aus, wird man augenblicklich missverstanden. Das kann einen dann auch schnell mal eine flüchtige Internetfreundschaft (sofern diese als Freundschaft zu bezeichnen ist) kosten. Ein Beispiel:

Falsch:

"Bist du immer so öd, oder bist du einfach schlecht drauf?"

Richtig

"Bist du immer so öd, oder bist du einfach schlecht drauf? ^^ xD :P lol"

Ist das die Richtung, in die sich Gespräche entwickeln sollen? Zweifelsfrei ist es für das Gegenüber durch den mangelnden Sichtkontakt nicht sofort sichtbar, ob sich in Gesagtem tatsächlich Ironie oder dergleichen befindet, aber das kann durch einen geringen Denkaufwand ohne Probleme kompensiert werden.

Ich bin also gegen Emoticons und schlage eine Testphase vor. Ich rufe alle eventuellen Leser dazu auf, sich vorerst soweit möglich der Smileys zu entledigen und ihr Gesagtes schlichtweg eloquenter zu formulieren. Für Risiken und Nebenwirkung bin ich allerdings nicht verantwortlich.

2) Vá em Object e clique na ferramenta de texto e escreva o que deseja. Escolha uma fonte e uma cor desejada. O tamanho deve ser um que faça a palavra caber dentro da imagem. Posicione o texto como quiser na imagem.

3) Salve a imagem (Save> Save as). Nomeie ela para anime1.

4) Depois de salvo, volte na imagem. Vá com o ponteiro do mouse e dê um clique com o direito do mouse e vá em Properties.

5) Veja que abriu a janela de texto. A única coisa que você precisará fazer é mudar a cor do texto. NÃO mude a fonte, nem o tamanho e nem o posicionamento do texto.

6) Vá em Save> Save as e nomeie como anime2.

7) Repita os passos 4, 5 e 6 quantas vezes quiser e não esquecendo de mudar a cor e salvar como anime3, anime4 e assim por diante.

8) Vá agora no AniGif do Photoscape :

9) Procure as imagens com o texto que você fez e arraste-os para a parte superior do programa:

10) Vá em Change Time. É lá onde você escolherá a velocidade de transição. Coloque um valor que estejq entre 1 e 100. Quanto mais perto esse valor for do 1, mais rápido será, e quanto mais for do 100, mais lento será.

11) Feito isso, salve a animação (Save - Fica localizado na parte direita-superior do programa)

Colocando o emoticon no seu MSN:

12) Abra sua conta no messenger e vá no menu Ferramentas> Emoticons> Criar. Clique em Localizar Imagem e abra a animação feita, dê um nome para ela e clique em OK!

Pronto!

Someone clever created a little nifty gateway to allow for such a send on the japanese carrier networks.

Just point your iPhone to https://www.utilz.jp/x2/mail.jsp 

The trick -and a potentially dangerous one- ? You need a Gmail account and the site wants both your userID and password.

As it's a send-only tool, this won't resolve the fact that the iPhone is unable to receive such emoji, transcoding them instead into strange ASCII characters.

For those who don't speak a word of Japanese, Jared on the iphoneinjapan.com forums offers this translation:

Instalando: Verifique se o MSN está aberto em seu computador (é necessário abrí-lo e acessar sua conta). No site, escolha a skin desejada e clique em "tranferir" (Importante: na página da skin, verifique se a mesma é compatível com a sua versão do messenger). Selecione "Abrir com MSN Plus!" e dê Ok.

Espere a conclusão do download. Automaticamente, irá abrir a seguinte janela:

Se você quiser aplicar a skin logo após a impotação, deice habilitada a caixa "Activar esta máscara após ser importada".
Clique em Importar. Após alguns segundos você receberá uma mensagem de confirmação de que a skin foi instalada. Pronto! Sua máscara está instalada.

Observações:
• Você pode instalar quantas skins quiser. Para mudá-la, entre no MSN e basta ir no menu "Plus"/ Opções/ Personalizar/ Máscaras.

• Uma vez aplicada uma skin, ela será a máscara de qualquer conta do MSN acessada em seu computador.

I have a love/hate relationship with these stupid things because they're so ANNOYING BUT CUTE. I named some of them after my friends (DEREK) 'cause it was just so....... matching. HAHAHAHAHA!!! I found a whole WEBSITE dedicated to these things (they're called Tuzki and apparently originated from Beijing?) initally from Facebook, which directed me to another website here where there's a heckload of other stupidlooking MSN emoticons. LOL it's so annoying but I can't resist either.

obviously would've been cuter if they could move here but yeah. I feel so kekdao just looking at some of them. LOOK AT THAT PANDA MAN. (bottom right) I know some people who do look like that HAHAHA and the square cat (bottom row, fourth from the left) so BLUR HAHA!!! I know many people like that ;) Incredibly annoying I tell you but it's one of things you hate to love and love to hate. Wha? Haha!

I just checked both RBA and SIA flights to Singapore this November and it's so expensiveee :( my mum managed to get a really good price to KL in October (spending her birthday there! so nice) for only BND300+ while the flights to Singapore are over BND400. Crazy yaw, fuel charges are going up, up (and away). Probably will keep checking until a more decent price is available.

this got me thinking about things. about how we go about our days in-agency, creating stuff that sometimes gets used, but let's face it most of it doesn't. and where does it go? what does it do? i've also been reading Eckhart Tolle's new book called A New Earth and in it he talks about how everything - even a rock - has an energy or a spirit. which makes me even a little more creeped out by the ideas we have which never come to fruition and instead lie around on scamp pads and in expensive half-filled Moleskines for ever and ever.

I once read a book called The Raw Shark Texts about a guy who got haunted by Conceptual Sharks - which are basically forgotten ideas that have ganged up together and become quite vicious and ready to bite a chunk out of your brain. That book freaked me out as well. I had visions of that half-finished campaign about a sneaker cleaner creeping up on me at inconvenient times. Like when you burp up tequila in your monday morning status meeting. And then the realisation dawns that you weren't drinking tequila last night and all you can remember is kissing your mom goodbye when it was still light...

So ANyways:

Check out this new fashion (also invented by my boyfriend) when you print out text brackets and stick them on your REAL face to give yourself a touch of digemo / abbbreviated text cool / to better convey what you are feeling  to young people who only understand stuff when it's followed by an emoticion :) Coming soon: (!!!) in the middle of your forehead.
