Så har det igjen dukket opp nye maskiner fra Apple. Nå er det bare noen måneder siden mitt siste kjøp av en Mac og jeg må nok pent vente litt nå:-) Etterhvert har det blitt flere stk. iMac og en Mac Book Pro.

Overgangen fra Windows til Mac har vært problemfri og jeg angrer ikke på at jeg skiftet ut alle maksinene hjemme og min egen på jobben. Det jeg trenger av windowsprogram kjøres nå under Vmware og det fungerer utmerket. Bærbar Mac har også vært en gledelig opplevelse og det blir nok antagelig ikke flere windowsmaskiner i overskuelig fremtid.

El día de ayer, mientras se presentaban las nuevas macbooks, la tienda permaneció cerrada. Cuando volvió a funcionar aparecieron nuevos precios en todos sus productos.

Parece que el gigante de la manzana esta vez no se midió, estoy de acuerdo que la situación actual en el mundo es difícil y que los costos han aumentado, pero los incrementos en los costos que hicieron no hablan solamente de un incremento por la situación económica, ya que encontramos aumentos hasta de un 30% y lo curioso de todo esto es que en la Apple Store de Estados Unidos hasta este momento los costos siguen siendo los anteriores, será que como siempre tendremos que fregarnos soportando los altísimos costos nosotros, ya que las diferencia de costos con estados unidos se vuelve realmente dramática, o será acaso ¿que los costos reducidos solo fueron una estrategia de mercado mientras se lanzaron los productos? 

En definitiva creo que es momento de que muchas empezara a buscar alternativas mejores y a un costo más reducido, en lo persona esta situación crea un gran descontento.

特に、MacBookとMacBook ProはiMacみたいな外観になってかっこ良くなりましたね。
これから、買うか買わないかの脳内会議を開かなければいけません。

そして、昨晩のお祭り騒ぎに乗り遅れたというかたに、早くもAppleがビデオPodcastによって基調講演の様子を配信しています。
今回はQ&Aコーナーがあって、3人が並ぶ姿が面白かったですね。

Engadget vient de publier de nouvelles photos qui présentent ce qui serait le nouveau MacBook Pro :
On remarque immédiatement différents changements :

- Le contour noir apparu avec les iMac aluminium

- Le clavier noir, sur le même modèle que les claviers des iMac aluminium et que les MacBook Air

- Plus aucune encoche pour la fermeture de l’écran, ce qui sous-entend une fermeture magnétique

- Un touchpad très grand et sans aucun bouton

Selon une source d’Engadget, l’absence de bouton pour le touchpad s’expliquerait par le fait qu’il est lui-même un bouton et serait également en verre.

Quitte à rester dans les rumeurs qui seront confirmées ou informées ce soir, on notera la simplification de la gamme MacBook, qui ne compterait plus que deux machines :

- 1299 dollars : 2,0 GHz, 2 Go de mémoire vive, disque dur de 160 Go

- 1499 dollars : 2,4 GHz, 2 Go de mémoire vive, 250 Go

Notons que toutes les rumeurs parlent d’aluminium pour les MacBook et qu’il est pratiquement acquis qu’Apple les présentera bien ce soir. Mais bon, après tout, nous ne sommes pas à l’abri d’une surprise.

Tous les portables de la firme embarqueraient à partir de ce soir une carte graphique NVIDIA 9400M. Mais, « preuve » que les machines s’appuieraient sur des chipsets NVIDIA également, les MacBook Pro 15 pouces embarqueraient également une carte 9600M GT. Du coup, on peut y voir l’exploitation de la technologie HybridGraphics, qui pourrait par exemple s’activer automatiquement quand la machine serait sur secteur. Le MacBook Pro 17 pouces ne serait pas transformé par les annonces de ce soir, mais verrait sa configuration passer de 2 à 4 Go de mémoire vive, et à un disque dur de 320 Go.

Il faudra attendre la conférence qui débutera à 19h pour vérifier ces informations, et l'Apple Store est déjà fermé.

Le but de cet écran? Le connecter à un MacBook pardi! Quoi d'autre! C'est donc une extension, avec iSight, Hauts-parleurs, micro... Je le comprends comme "je transporte mon MacBook, et de retour chez moi, je le branche pour avoir un iMac". Oui car, le design est très... iMac.

Engadget posts two photos of what appears to be the new MacBook Pro. The new Macbook Pro has a black bezel similar to the iMac. Also, of note is that there are no trackpad buttons on the MacBook Pro trackpad.

We shall see what Mr. Jobs has to tell us tomorrow!!!

Inte har jag råd med photoshop, inte kan jag installera GIMP på denna gaaaaamla burk (eller, jo KAN kan man.... men fan så komplicerat!).

Det enda jag saknar med mitt ex är att han installerade Photoshop Elements på min gamla dator... som sedemera blev infekterad med en sjuhelsikes influensa och aldrig återhämtade sig...

Nu måste jag nog ge upp.... annars kommer jag i ren frustration köpa hem ett photoshop som jag alltså absolut INTE har råd med!

There will be a new range of Apple laptops released on the 14th of October says sources from cnet and apple insider. It will of course be very interesting to see what they will look like or how much they will alter in design.

Apple is renowned for it’s amazing, sleek and eye catching designs, which is what really separates Apple computers from other dell or Microsoft products. Being very interested in design I want to see a total overhaul of the Macbook, its current design is really cheap and old by Apple’s standards these days and the keypad clearly represents the buttons you would find on a calculator. Its like buying a white calculator for an over expensive price, there was a reason they never made calculators in white because they knew they were going to get dirty.


I’m going to take a minute or two to reach my inner Zen and become the Apple designer/lead designer who probably landed this task in his hands. *Minute silence* POW I’m now in the mind of an Apple designer. Here follows my overhaul for the new laptop range.

Diary entry sometime

I woke this morning to ritzy jazz playing off my iPhone alarm. It was a beautiful morning, because it was a Monday. I rolled out of bed and sat on the edge just to gather my thoughts, I slowly rubbed my apple logo tattoo that I drunkly thought was a good idea after a bottle of vodka at the staff party. But that was fine; I had a quick shower and gracefully got a coffee as I headed into work for the day ahead.

I work at Apple, everyone knows by the Apple shirt and cap I wear to work everyday. But something interesting happened today! A new project on my desk.

I was to head a brilliant team to recreate the Apple laptop range. I headed for the storeroom and picked both a Macbook, Macbook Pro 15inch and Macbook pro 17inch from the shelves. To the Lab!!

I pulled out the Macbook, looking at its compact and small design I carefully pick it off the desk and slammed it in the trash. There was nothing I could do, it was a goner.

I then reached for the Macbook Pro 15". I was quick to admire its sleek design and great looks. I went straight for the chisel and in one fatal swoop removed the PRO for the Macbook Pro under the screen. Hmm there stood the new Macbook beautiful in everyway. But something was not right! I was missing something! Without second thought I went for the power saw slicing off 2 inches from the new Macbook design. I have succeeded!

Design notes

The new Macbook still a great compact notebook with a remising Apple design. As fast as the old Macbook Pro and you can choose from a titanium colour of silver or black.

Macbook Pro

I reached for the Macbook Pro 17" it was great beautiful but we had too move on. Be bold I thought. I went straight to the store room again. Rushing back with yet another Macbook Pro 15inch and whilst in-route I used my teeth and "guns" to rip off the screen from its base (much like the action of removing a piece of paper from a book). As I returned I promptly removed the 17" screen and replaced it with the 15". 


In all its glory there stood the new 15inch Macbook Pro. Hmm I asked myself WWSD (What Would Steve Do). I continued work! I grabbed the automatic sander; it was time to remove some of those old styled edges. After a cloud of smoke and metal sparks I stood back and looked at the design.

The new Macbook Pro15" as fast as the old 17" with the amount same amount of ports and a smoother design.

Macbook Pro17"

I still needed to finish my project and had only one task left. The mother of the MacBook Pro, a whole 17". I walked over to the electronics-engineering department. As a geeky face looked up from his pile of cables,

"Norburt I’m reassigning you"

"But I’m working on the new iPhone, it now connects to the Apple telecom network and look at this new logo that apple, yahoo, google agreed on.." he replied. I stopped him mid sentence as I slapped the device out of his hands. I slammed the Macbook Pro 17" on his desk. 

"Make it lighter and cheaper Norburt" I said as I went for the door. Just before leaving I turned back to Norburt, who behind his desk already started working on the 17".

"And Norburt. Do you reckon you can make a tablet out of that?"

He looked up, paused for a minute and replied, "I’ll look into it"

As I left work that day, I relished in the fact that it was only 1:30 and I will able to have lunch at home again today. After strutting home I had some amazing tofu and a light beer. I went for my computer and a huge smirk of satisfaction came across my face as I checked my bank account and the recent 1 million dollar bonus that had been deposited.

POW! That was one hell of a Zen trip. The NEW Laptop range from Apple will be out soon and we just can’t wait.

We have had it almost a year now and I still love it. Here are some pics Jett and I took with the fabulous "photo booth".

Aunque para el mismo ampli, tengo unas Bose, no quería utilizarlas para mi iMac, las Bose las dejo para los reproductores de dvd y cd, que están conectadas al mismo ampli antes mencionado. Después de mirar y escuchar algunas cajas (mi presupuesto era de unos 500 euros), encontré unas que siendo incluso mas económicas de mi presupuesto previsto sonaban realmente bien.

La marca en cuestión es Polk Audio, y aunque es una marca no muy famosa por estos lugares, los acabados y el sonido son espectaculares, mas propios de cajas con mas renombre y precio. Frontal de la caja en aluminio plata a juego con mi iMac, acabado de madera "nogal", no chapeado, y el sonido realmente fantástico, reproduce los agudos perfectamente sea el tipo de música que estés escuchando, y define los graves perfectamente sin llegar a distorsionar o a producirse ese efecto zumbido, cueva, que parece mas propio de otras marcas, 3 vías, bicableadas...

Caja "americana", mas propia para escuchar Rock y música electrónica, aunque se defiende muy bien, con cualquier tipo de música, estoy realmente contento, y ¿el precio?.....las he comprado  por 250 euros, como decía, la mitad de lo que tenía previsto gastarme. Si buscas unas cajas polivalentes y con una buena definición, te las recomiendo fervientemente, aunque siempre que te vayas a comprar unos altavoces, es mas que recomendable escucharlos, todos los oídos no son iguales, y lo que para unos puede sonar fantástico a otras personas no les puede llegar a convencer totalmente.

O iTunes, desde há algum tempo, dá-nos uma ajuda a mantermos as nossas colecções completas, ao completar a importação de um CD com a capa do álbum, importada directamente da iTunes Store. Mas nem sempre, especialmente para música portuguesa, ou menos conhecida, isso acontece, pelo que lá temos de ir nós à procura de uma imagem do álbum (ou fazer um scan, mas isso dá muito trabalho :P). Mas e se mais tarde reparamos que a capa é errada, ou que encontramos uma imagem com melhor qualidade, e quisermos substítuir essa capa? Na teoria, arrastaríamos a capa nova para o campo 'Artwork', e está o assunto resolvido, certo? Errado! Continuamos a ver a capa antiga...

Isto acontece pelo modo como o iTunes faz a gestão das capas definidas pelos utilizadores. Não há nenhum defeito, nem nenhum mau funcionamento do programa. É preciso é compreender que o iTunes permite que tenhamos várias imagens armazenadas no campo 'Artwork', pelo que sempre que adicionamos uma imagem, ele não substitui a já existente, apenas acrescenta a nova.

Este é o processo que eu sigo para substituição de imagens de capa, e penso ser o mais "lógico" e simples.

Este era o aspecto de um álbum ao qual eu queria mudar a imagem de capa:

Não estou muito contente com esta imagem, aquele rebordo branco não "encaixa" muito bem. Por isso:

PASSO 1

Selecciono todas as faixas do álbum em questão, clico com o botão direito do rato (ou Ctrl+clique) e selecciono 'Get Info' (também pode ser efectuado com Cmd/+I, para aqueles que como eu preferem utilizar o teclado), para aceder às informações das faixas.

PASSO 2

No campo 'Artwork', coloco um visto, e pressiono 'Ok'. Isto vai fazer com que o iTunes elimine todas e quaisquer imagens que existam na informação dessas faixas.

PASSO 3

Repetimos o passo 1, e de seguida arrastamos para o campo 'Artwork' o ficheiro de imagem que pretendamos utilizar (como alternativa, podem fazer copy/paste, se a origem do ficheiro for uma página web), e voltamos a pressionar 'Ok'.

E pronto, tenho toda a informação do álbum tal como a desejo, e acabei de melhorar um pouco a experiência de ouvir um álbum, seja através do iTunes ou num iPod/iPhone. Afinal de contas, a capa de um álbum é parte integrante de uma obra, e não deve nunca ser ignorada. ;)
