"Svensken" Abu Qaswara (Abu Qaswarah, även kallad Abu Sara, alla hans namn kan vara "täcknamn") dödades den 5 oktober i strider i Mosul, Irak.

Han var involverad i strid med amerikanska styrkor (Task Force 88) som invaderade ett huvudkvarter för terrorister, träffades och detonerade en "självmordsväst". I samband med explosionen dödades också tre kvinnor och tre barn.

Abu Qaswara var född i Marocko och beskrivs av USA som näst högste man (efter Abu Ayyub al-Masri, som även uppträder som Abu Hamza al-Muhajair) inom al-Qaida i Irak och ledare för gruppen i de norra delarna av landet.

Abu Qaswara kom till Sverige via Frankrike i mitten av 1980-talet, blev svensk medborgare 1993 och bodde i Sverige till 2006. I maj 2006 reste han till Irak och sedan dess har han inte återvänt till Sverige. Förutom medborgarskap i Sverige hade han också medborgarskap i Marocko.

Under sin tid i Sverige träffade Abu Qaswara en svensk kvinna, född i en liten ort i Sverige. Paret gifte sig och har tillsammans vårdnaden om fem barn. Den yngsta är född i början av 2000-talet. Frun och barnen är skrivna på den adress i en förort till Stockholm där mannen senast bodde. Det är oklart om Abu Qaswaras fru och barnen fortfarande befinner sig i Sverige.

Intressant för säkerhetspolisen

Under 90-talet började säkerhetspolisen (Säpo) intressera sig för Abu Qaswara på grund av vad som misstänktes vara terrorrelaterad verksamhet kring en moské i Brandbergen i Haninge.

Abu Qaswara greps i en lägenhet i Tensta i mars 2004 samtidigt som Säpo gjorde ett tillslag mot moskén i Brandbergen. Han förhördes då om tågattentaten i Madrid tidigare under mars. Senare samma månad greps Abu Qaswara av dansk säkerhetspolis efter tips från svenska Säpo. Abu Qaswara var misstänkt för delaktighet i terrorattentaten i Casablanca den 16 maj 2003.

I december 2006 fördes Abu Qaswara, 43, upp på FN:s och EU:s så kallade terrorlistor, och hans tillgångar har sedan dess varit frusna.

Abu Qaswara var känd hos säkerhetspolisen för sina aktiviteter i ”våldsbejakande islamistiska kretsar” i Sverige. Han har misstänkts leda islamistnätverk som har stött terrorverk i Afghanistan, Irak and norra Afrika. Islamistnätverket har bl.a. skickat frivilligt stridande (jihadister) till Irak. Han har dock aldrig blivit dömd för något brott i Sverige.

- Att ha fångat honom är en stor framgång för koalitionsstyrkorna och folket i Irak. Det här innebär ett större bakslag för irakiska al-Qaida, säger Greg Flores, informationsansvarig vid de multinationella styrkorna i Irak.
Enligt honom är Abu Qaswara direkt ansvarig för en rad terrordåd.
- Han har organiserat transport av sprängmedel till och från olika platser i Irak. Han har också tränat med al-Qaida i Afghanistan och beordrade utländska terrorister in i norra Irak. Han är ansvarig för att ha planerat flera självmordsattacker mot civila irakier. Han har också dödat terrorister som ville återvända till sina hemländer i stället för att utföra attacker mot civila irakier, säger Greg Flores.

Abu Qaswara svenske advokat förnekar terroristkopplingen

Abu Qaswaras tidigare advokat i Sverige, Abdel-Hay Alami säger att det är ”osannolikt” att den outbildade Abu Qaswara skulle ha blivit ledare i en internationell terrororganisation.

Om det är Abu Qaswara som åsyftas här så är det en väldigt enkel person, han saknar utbildning, har jobbat som servitör i Sverige, talar enkel marockanska. Uppgifterna att han skulle ingå i al-Qaidas ledningsgrupp har jag väldigt svårt att tro på, säger Abdel-Hay Alam.

– "Jag har inte uppfattat honom vare sig extrem i sin religion eller extrem i sitt sätt att vara, utan en person som ville följa sin religion och som visade det i sitt sätt att klä sig och som bar skägg" säger advokaten vidare.

Mannens namn har uppgetts vara Abu Qaswara, alternativ stavning Abu Qaswarah, men han har även använt namnet Abu Sara.

U.S. military officials said Abu Qaswarah, whose real name was unavailable, was a key figure in the al-Qaida network with ties to the movement's global leadership in Pakistan and Afghanistan, where he trained.

Abu Qaswara er født marokkaner. Han var også kendt under navnet Abu Sara. Han kom til Sverige i midten af 1980'erne, og cirka ti år senere blev hans svensk statsborger. I maj 2006 rejste han til Irak, og siden da har han ikke været tilbage. Han skal også have været aktiv i Nordafrika og Afghanistan.

Efterhånden som Europa islamiseres, vil islamister få adgang til atomteknologi fra vore lande. Vi vil få militser af samme slags i vores verdensdel. Og eftersom militær og politi rekrutterer muslimer, fordi de tror, det gavner integrationen, bliver militante islamister også uddannet på et meget højt niveau. Denne type irakere har vi altså lige på den anden side af sundet. Og i vores egen andedam.

Europæerne er ikke rigtig kloge. Vi har jo selv valgt vore politikere. Som lukker dem ind. Disse fjendtlige mennesker. Det haster med at få stemt nogle andre regeringer ind. Hvorfor forstår folk ikke det?

The war being waged by Islam in the Western World is a guerrilla war and one that has many fronts. When you control virtually all of the world’s supply of heroin then I am sure you are going to use this commodity as a weapon in one of those fronts in your Global Jihad. It is ‘narco terrorism’ at its very worst which is the title of an important early book by Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld, exposing the connection between the Jihadis growing and distributing heroin in the world and providing billions to fund their Global Jihad against all non-believers.

By flooding the streets of your enemy with heroin, the Jihadis hope to addict and kill our youth, destroy society and cause massive social problems. The production and trafficking of heroin is silent but sure devastation. The heroin trade is worth literally billions of Dollars, Pounds and Euros and has yet to be reined in and destroyed, despite the war against the Taliban in southern Afghanistan and the alleged partnership with Pakistan in the war against terrorism. The money earned at all levels of the heroin trade is poured back into Global Jihad. For Al Qaeda, heroin is a “win-win” situation. Its network of terrorists are injecting heroin into our youth culture, destroying parts of our communities and country and making vast amounts of money in the process which is then poured back in to finance and support other terrorist activity and support networks against us. They cannot lose using heroin as a sword of Jihad as it has the two sides with which to cut and destroy us with.

Bin Laden and al Qaeda sit on top of the world’s heroin trade estimated at over $7 - $8 billion dollars annually

From the direct proceeds of heroin trafficking, Bin Laden and Al Qaeda have built up their Islamic terror network’s conventional and non-conventional weapons capabilities which also includes weapons of mass destruction with which to fight America and the West with.

Britain is one of the targets for al Qaeda’s heroin strategy. In Britain there is an epidemic of heroin abuse and the effects on local communities have been devastating. We have slums that are ‘no go’ areas due to drugs and our prison population is at bursting point because of the increase of crime upon our society due to the heroin and crack cocaine epidemic.
Heroin is a major factor in the social problems throughout the country.

Where does the heroin come from? It comes from Islamic Afghanistan through Islamic Pakistan and then ends up on our streets. Al Qaeda’s leaders in the U.K have plans to bring down our country and one of the weapons that has been outlined to use in their jihad against us is labeled under “chemical warfare” and is the supply of street drugs, heroin and crack cocaine into our communities. The supply of drugs is part of Al Qaeda’s military strategy against my country. So if you deal drugs with Muslims or buy drugs from Muslims then you are supporting their jihad terror against us.

I live in the county of Bedfordshire in the U.K. Within this area you have several towns all joined to one another. Luton was where the 7/7 bombers got on their train before going off on their murderous mission in London. Luton did house one of the most radical extremist groups in the U.K who where aligned with Omar Bakri. The man with the hook Abu Hamza also lived here for about 10 years before moving to the now closed infamous Finsbury Park mosque and then on ultimately upon conviction on terrorism charges to where he now resides in Belmarsh Prison.
If you remember the Danish cartoon protests in London there was a Pakistani Muslim Omar Khayam who blatantly wore a suicide vest which was an act of complete hatred towards my country and the survivors of 7/7. He was subsequently arrested and it was discovered that he had just been released from a 5 year prison sentence for selling heroin and crack cocaine. He lives in Bedford, in Bedfordshire which is about 10 miles from Luton where I reside.

All these links to terror and terrorist activity and all within the vicinity of where I live.

I have lived in Luton and surrounding areas all of my life so know exactly what is happening on the street level. Unlike America our housing estates are a lot smaller and we don’t have different gangs controlling them, we have the local population and its natural order of things. In Luton you have a very large Pakistani Muslim community and these are the ones who control things on the streets. Three of the 7/7 bombers were of British Pakistani origin and spent time in Luton before departing for London. There have also been many anti terrorism arrests in Luton and we have had local Pakistani British born Muslims from Luton who have been killed fighting against our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. This is all going on in the community not 5 minutes from where I live which is situated just 30 minutes North of central London.

The Pakistani Muslims of Luton control the drug trade and are pumping heroin and crack cocaine into the community and surrounding areas at an alarming rate. The Muslim controlled drugs trade in heroin is destroying our youth and breaking down living areas. Drugs are on sale 24 hours a day and the gangs enlist the help of local taxi drivers in which to drive there drugs around in safety for them. These Pakistani Muslims also buy up all the local fast food shops and taxi firms to “wash” their illegal drug money through because they are “cash businesses’, so can legitimize there criminal proceeds. The Muslims have taken over Luton which is the reason why the Islamic leaders allowed the bombers to tell the world that they supported the 7/7 bombers and their actions by letting them set off on their fateful journey from central Luton. The Pakistani Muslims of Luton have taken over and are spreading further a field to expand there power base. They are using heroin and crack cocaine as one weapon in their Jihad to do this with. They cannot lose. Why is this Islamic induced civil disorder that is aimed at the destruction of my country not being tackled by the British Security Services who are supposed to be there to protect and defend our National Security.

Because I saw the threat that the Muslims pose with drugs I have been actively helping do what I can to counteract that threat. A year ago I went forward to the police with information about a Muslim drug dealer who was pumping heroin and crack cocaine into my community. He was subsequently arrested due to my corroborated evidence. I didn’t think anymore of it until one day I received a threatening phone call where I was told “your going to get a knife in your fat white belly” by a Muslim youth. I then received information from a friend who buys heroin from this drug gang and they had said to him: “I gave information to the police about one of there people”, “I wear the cloak of religion” and that “I am going to be meeting God soon”. There is said to be upwards of 100 in this Pakistani Muslim drug gang and they call themselves “The Gambinos” after the American crime family.

My name and that of the other person who came forward with the information to convict this Muslim drug dealer ended up in the hands of these Pakistani Muslim gangsters. I had to move my home, shut my shop and became bankrupt because of this situation. The Muslim who was arrested spent less than a year in prison and is now back out on the street selling his drugs again and has bought a fast food shop to wash his drug money through.

I gave several warnings to the police in my dealings with them about a policeman who I believed was corrupt, who I believe is linked to these Muslims gangsters. My name and the other person’s name who came forward ended up on the street in the hands of these Pakistani Muslim criminals .

I have tried to counteract this threat. My friends have distanced themselves from me because they are scared for themselves and I am left sitting here on my own.

That’s the position on the ground here in Luton in the U.K which was home to an integral part of the 7/7 bombers plans against my country. They declared war on Britain and opened up Luton as a battle line.

The Muslims in Luton have taken control and are spreading. Unless people wake up to the threat that surrounds them then we are sleep walking into destruction at the hands of these Muslims whose only aims are to take over and implement Shari’a Law.
If people cannot connect the dots then what hope is there. Heroin, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Luton, 7/7 bombers, British Pakistanis, British Danish cartoon ’suicide bomber’ protester, Abu Hamza, Omar Bakri, Al mujaharoon and the continued expansion of their drug empires. All this is happening in the community of Luton where I live and the people of the community are helpless to stop it.

The situation in Luton is no different from anywhere else in Britain or the world where heroin is being sold. Ultimately the money earned from heroin is going into the hands of the fighters of Jihad, no matter what way the heroin situation is being played out. It is controlled by Bin Laden, used by al Qaeda as a weapon to destroy our society and is being used to deliver us into the hands of Muslims.

Heroin is the Golden Sword of Jihad
And the Home Office does nothing to stop heroin, the silent sword of the Jihadis ravaging my community and country and forcing me to hide.

Abu Qaswarah, also known as Abu Sara, was the al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) senior leader of northern Iraq. A Moroccan native, Abu Qaswarah had historic ties to AQI founder Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and senior al-Qaeda leaders in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Abu Qaswarah took the role of the senior AQI emir of northern Iraq in June 2007. He was AQI’s second in command and AQI Emir Abu Ayyub al-Masri’s senior operational leader.

Al-Qaeda Outlines Its Strategy Seven Years After 9/11

On the seventh anniversary of 9/11, jihadi internet forum members posted a variety of messages recalling and celebrating al-Qaeda’s terrorist attacks in the United States, or, as the jihadis refer to it, “the victorious invasion of Manhattan.” One frequent poster and well-known member of the jihadi forums posted a protracted analysis of the situation as it exists at the moment entitled “Al-Qaeda’s Strategy on September 11, 2008, and the Onset of its Great Scheme” (alhesbahweb.net, September 12).

The posting was written by a Salafi-Jihadi using the nickname “Asad al-Jihad2.” Famous among jihadi forum chatters for his active role in the Salafi-Jihadi global movement, al-Jihad2 is believed to be the Egyptian Muhammad Khalil al-Hakaima, media coordinator for al-Qaeda (iiacome.blogspot.com, September 12; see also Terrorism Focus, October 10, 2006; October 24, 2006). Al-Hakaima was a member of Egypt’s Gama'a al-Islamiya (Islamic Group - GI) before breaking ranks with the group and joining al-Qaeda (see Terrorism Monitor, October 10, 2006). Another forum member, claiming to be a reporter for the Global Islamic Media Front (GIMF), posted the article on behalf of al-Jihad2. Beginning with a review of the battles in Afghanistan’s Tora Bora region, the post claims al-Qaeda succeeded in scattering the U.S. army all over the world, hence disrupting its plans to reshape the Middle East. The U.S. onslaught on the Middle East drove Muslims to rise up and join al-Qaeda, says al-Jihad2, adding, “We are tired of analysts who claim al-Qaeda will be terminated soon. Don’t they have a sensible man to admit that al-Qaeda won in every field of confrontation?”

Several times the post also ridicules a July 28 Rand Corporation report entitled “How Terrorist Groups End: Implications for Countering al-Qa’ida.” The report suggested the United States abandon its heavy reliance on military force in its counterterrorism strategy to pursue an approach emphasizing policing and intelligence gathering.[1]

Ineffective Western Tactics in the War on al-Qaeda

Previous jihadi movements were defeated and dismantled by Western counterterrorism tactics because they failed to win public support and failed to train jihadis for ideological, political and military confrontations with the infidels. Al-Qaeda succeeded in confronting not just local security forces, but rather the entire global security machine. The most important aspect of al-Qaeda’s operations, claims al-Jihad2, is the continuous build-up and development of its resources while perpetrating terror attacks. Continued Western attacks on al-Qaeda have only strengthened its resolve and support from Muslims. The author recalls an encounter he had while raising funds for al-Qaeda operations: “What makes people donate large sums of money to al-Qaeda after all the restrictions imposed on it by the international counter-terrorism apparatus? What motivates a little girl to give me one dollar when she knew I was raising funds for al-Qaeda?” The girl’s own answer to this question: “I want them to kill the Americans (the Jews) because they fight the Muslims.”

The Major Battle Fronts of al-Qaeda

In the seven years since the terror attacks in the United States, al-Qaeda has mounted a series of successful attacks on many fronts. Osama bin Laden, who has baffled the world’s smartest military and security analysts, is still planning more devastating blows, according to al-Jihad2.

• Palestine: The world’s attention turned to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict when Osama bin Laden, in his first statement after the 9/11 attacks, vowed to disrupt America’s peace if the Jews did not pull out of Palestine. Israel remains at the core of international Islamic issues and provides a revolutionary motivation for Palestinians to join al-Qaeda’s war on crusaders and Jews under American command. Is al-Qaeda winning in Palestine? If al-Jihad2’s measure of success is the spread of Salafi-Jihadi groups such as the Jaysh al-Islam (Islamic Army) in Palestinian areas, Israel’s establishment of an additional security agency to confront global jihad movements would seem to corroborate al-Jihad2’s claim of Salafi-Jihadi success (Al-Ghad [Jordan], September 25). Al-Jihad2 concludes his point on Palestine by suggesting al-Qaeda attacks are pending in the heart of Jerusalem.

• The Islamic State of Iraq (ISI): Evidence for the success of al-Qaeda in Iraq is the re-establishment in Iraq of the caliphate that was abolished by Turkey’s Mustafa Kemal Ataturk in 1924. In the first five years of the ISI’s 20-year plan to develop a caliphate in the whole region, al-Qaeda asserted its superiority over all enemies of Islam in Iraq, resulting in many Iraqi resistance leaders pledging allegiance to ISI.

• Al-Qaeda in the Arab Peninsula: The Arab peninsula is an exceptional domain for al-Qaeda operations because it can engage all enemies of Islam present in the oil-rich region. The rough terrain and the non-luxurious life of many people in the peninsula are important factors in motivating them to join al-Qaeda. The movement considers Yemen an area of strategic research. All the terror acts committed by al-Qaeda in Yemen are only a prelude to its future plans for Yemen as outlined in the book The Responsibility of the People of Yemen towards the Holy Places of Muslims and their Wealth by Salafi-Jihadi ideologist Abu Musad al-Suri.[2] Other States in the peninsula provide vast financial sources for al-Qaeda.

• Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan: Al-Qaeda’s plan for Afghanistan is to gradually take over Kabul by cutting off its supply lines, followed by the reestablishment of the Islamic Emirate. The mujahideen are waging war on multiple fronts in Afghanistan against NATO and apostate forces. The Taliban and al-Qaeda presently control large districts in Afghanistan due to the influx of volunteers and Salafi-Jihadi shaykhs. “How does al-Qaeda’s situation in Afghanistan during the Tora Bora battles compare to today? I leave the answer to the incompetent RAND institution” says al-Jihad2.

• Al-Qaeda in Pakistan: Pakistan’s Taliban made outstanding progress this year by controlling the tribal areas and undermining America’s strongest ally in the region, former President Pervez Musharaff. Al-Jihad2 believes Pakistan will never stabilize unless it is ruled by an Islamic government supportive of al-Qaeda and the Taliban because the Pakistani public dislikes the United States and its allies. Al-Qaeda expects improved relations with Pakistani authorities now that military command has been separated from the presidency.

• Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb: The establishment of Salafist groups in the Maghreb region has presented an “insurmountable barrier to Crusader France and the European nations behind it.” Though the “Algerian system is fading,” direct French intervention is expected to prop it up. Nevertheles, the Maghreb region offers numerous advantages for conducting jihad, including vast open areas with unprotected borders, an abundance of mountain fortresses, long beaches with maritime access and a ready supply of weapons from central and western Africa.

• Al-Qaeda in ,: Since the end of the Cold War and the establishment of an American presence in fourteen African states formerly part of France’s neo-colonial sphere of influence, al-Qaeda has planned to repulse U.S. influence in Africa. “The African Horn, the country of the two migrations [Somalia] and the southern belt of defense of Prophet Muhammad’s Peninsula, is considered one of the main battlefields against the crusaders” said al-Jihad2 quoting Shaykh Mukhtar Abu al-Zubair, Emir of the Mujahideen Youth in Somalia (al-Shabaab). The post focuses on the early presence of al-Qaeda in Somalia. In 1993, claims al-Jihad2, Osama Bin Laden dispatched Abu Talha al Sudani, a senior al-Qaeda leader, to train Somali mujahideen youth who, in turn, summoned other senior leaders such as Shaykh Abu Hafs al-Masri, Shaykh Abu Ubaidah al-Banshiri, Shaykh Yusuf al-Iri and Shaykh Abdul Aziz al-Muqrin for consultation and the planning of future al-Qaeda battles with Western and U.S. forces in the African Horn. Abu Talha al-Sudani was officially appointed by Osama Bin Laden to oversee operations in Eastern Africa but was later killed in a fierce battle with Ethiopian forces in 2007.

These are the battlefronts where al-Qaeda has been victorious and reinforced its presence and strength, according to al-Jihad2, who adds that al-Qaeda receives many letters and delegations from Muslims all over the world petitioning to join the movement. Concerning its future plans, al-Jihad2 proclaims al-Qaeda will concentrate on assassinating tyrant and infidel leaders in an attempt to liquidate all forms of the U.S. military, security, diplomatic and economic presence in the region.

Some jihadi forum members hailed al-Jihad2’s posting, considering it indicative of an upcoming large-scale terror attack by al-Qaeda. Other forum participants believe the posting’s analysis contains many hidden messages written in code.

“Al-wala’ wa al-bara’” (Loyalty [to Islam] and Disavowal [to its Enemies]) is still the central theme of al-Qaeda’s adherents. Following this concept, al-Qaeda’s list of infidels and enemies to be eliminated is growing, requiring more jihadis to replace the ones who perished in the global counterterrorism campaign. The release of this post on al-Qaeda’s strategy, coinciding with the release of another interview with an anonymous al-Qaeda soldier promising major terror attacks in the near future, leaves the impression that al-Qaeda is increasing its propaganda efforts to lure more Islamists to replace the fallen.

Of course all of the above could be interpreted as a last-ditch attempt by an almost defeated Al Qaeda to recruit more jihadists as they see defeat staring them in the face. But which responsible leader of the free world would choose to take this dismissive stance?

UP TO 1000 Muslim students at RMIT are protesting against sharing a multi-faith prayer room with Christians, Jews and worshippers of other faiths.

RMIT Islamic Society vice-president Mohamed Elrafihi said the university had promised Muslim students their own prayer room at the Swanston St campus.

Five refurbished multi-faith prayer rooms -- including a foot-wash room for Muslims and a prayer room with Arabic signs and oriented towards Mecca -- were opened to students earlier this year.

But Mr Elrafihi said the Islamic-themed prayer room can be booked by other religions, which would interrupt evening Muslim prayer times.

Islamic students have refused to use the new facilities, insisting one room be dedicated for use by Muslims.

"We have nothing against multi-faith, we support multi-faith," Mr Elrafihi said.

He said RMIT had misled international students in previous promotions about Muslim prayer facilities.

"The Muslims were promised a dedicated room and that was taken from them. That has caused a lot of stress," Mr Elrafihi said.

While refusing to use the new prayer facilities for the past eight months, up to 600 Muslim students have been worshipping outdoors each Friday in nearby Bowen St, or on other days on the lawns outside RMIT's prayer halls in part of the old Melbourne jail.

"There has been days when it has been raining, hail and thunder," Mr Elrafihi said.

He said Muslim students had nothing against other faiths.

But he said Jews, Christians and other religions using the centre were small in number and did not need their own dedicated facilities.

He explained that the Muslims were supported by Christian, Jewish and student union groups at the university.

RMIT Vice-Chancellor Professor Joyce Kirk said the university had spent significant resources on accommodating Muslim needs.

"RMIT University respects the rights of its students and staff to practise their chosen religions, and provides space for them to do so," Prof Kirk said.

That doesn't go for the muslims, ol' chap. Give the devil a little finger...

"RMIT offers five Muslim-friendly prayer rooms on its Victorian campuses, two in the city, two in Bundoora and one in Brunswick."

She said the new spiritual centre in the city was specifically designed for Muslim students and staff, with separate female and male prayer rooms, washing facilities and social spaces.

She said several rooms were reserved for Muslims at specified times but conceded they could be booked by other faiths during other periods.

She rejected suggestions the university was in any way discriminating against Muslims.

Taqi ad-Din Ahmad ibn Taymiyyah (January 22, 1263 – 1328), was a Sunni Islamic scholar born in Harran, located in what is now Turkey, close to the Syrian border. He lived during the troubled times of the Mongol invasions. As a member of the school founded by Ibn Hanbal, he sought the return of Islam to its sources, the Qur'an and the Sunnah.

He was educated in Damascus, where he joined the Pietist school. He sought to return Islam to a strict interpretation of its sources in the Qur'an and the sunnah, as well as to rid it of customs he considered contrary to the law, including the worship of saints. He was imprisoned repeatedly in Cairo after his outspoken criticisms offended religious authorities. He spent his last 15 years as a schoolmaster in Damascus, where he gathered many disciples. He died in prison.

He influenced later thinkers such as Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab, Hasan al-Banna, and Sayyid Qutb. His writings are a major source of the Wahhabiyyah (today's salafi movement), a puritanical movement founded by Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab. His authority has been used by some twentieth-century Islamist groups to declare jihad against ruling governments, Muslim and not.

His Life of Jihad

Ibn Taymiyyah is known for his devotion to jihad.

In the Mamluk's war against the Mongols (or Tartars), he issued a fatwa declaring jihad upon the Mongols not only permissible, but obligatory as the Mongols were, according to his view, "not true Muslims." This idea has been borrowed today from him by the terrorists killing fellow Muslims (Shia or Sunni) when they declare them not to be "true Muslim." He based this ruling on the grounds that although the Mongols had converted to Sunni Islam they ruled using 'man-made laws' (their traditional Yassa code) rather than Islamic law or Shari'ah, and thus were living in a state of jahiliyya, or pre-Islamic pagan ignorance.

He led the resistance of the Mongol invasion of Damascus in 1300 . In the years that followed, Ibn Taymiyyah was engaged in intensive polemic activity against: (1) the Kasrawan Shi'a in Lebanon, (2) the Rifa'i Sufi order, and (3) the ittihadiyah school, a school that grew out of the teaching of Ibn 'Arabi, whose views he denounced as heretical.

Ibn Taymiyyah believed Shia Islam to be a heresy and developed a formal refutation of Shiism that is popular with modern day Sunni opponents of Shiaism. He sanctioned violence against Shia and has been said to "set the tone" for much later conflict between the two movements.

Ibn Taymiyyah rejected the Shia idea of the Imamate on the grounds that there is no mention of Imams in the Quran or the hadith of the Prophet. He argued the Quran has no esoteric meaning since it should be read literally.

All this jihad against the enemies of Islam did not help Ibn Taymiyyah with the 'ulama (Scholars). The authorities put him in jail many times until...

Dalam minggu terakhir ini; lebih kurang 2 pasang minggu - kesebokan dan kesengajaan untuk tidak menulis menular bagai wabak ke dalam diri ini. Sehingga lah kehangatan filem fitnah hilang akibat digandi dengan sebuah obor yang bawa lari keliling dunia.

Akhirnya kemarahan manusia muslim itu luput dengan api sejemput.

Walau bagaimana pun, ketika api itu hampir benar berlegar-legar di Malaysia, sejumlah tok kyai agama Budha dari Tibet membuat rusuhan. Habis dibakar gedung dan mereka berarak ke jalan sambil membaling batu dan segala macam benda. Masyarakat gempar, kerajaan China tersentak, dunia terhenti sejenak untuk mendengar luahan hari sang sami yang botak-botakan semuanya.

Ini cerita sang sami yang tidak memakai kasut, yang mengasihani makhluk bernyawa, yang tidak akan membunuh, apatah lagi menjamah seekor ikan, yang zuhud dan tawadduk, akhirnya memberontak - ini cerita Dalai Lama, tokoh spriritual Tibet. Ini juga cerita tentang manusia yang agamawan yang merasa sengsara ditindas oleh sebuah kerajaan. Tapi ini bukan cerita kerana Tuhan, atau cerita tentang agama.

Tetapi ketika ayat Tuhan yang mereka tuju itu diminta mansuh, mereka tiada berasa apa-apa. mereka tenang seperti air, malah mereka tidak coba berlagak seperti para agamawan yang botak tadi.

Akhirnya saya mengerti mengapa para sufi bersikap begitu; hanya kerna mereka telah menyatu dengan tuhan lalu tidak memerlukan lagi al quran! Apa gunanya al quran andai mereka telah bersama-sama Allah dalam penghidupan? Allah adalah mereka - dan mereka adalah Allah. Apa yang mereka katakan itu berupa kalam Tuhan, dan apa yang Tuhan katakan itu pasti keluar dari kerongkong mereka.

Yang ada dalam helaian kitab itu adalah satu ungkapan dari manusia yang telah kojol. Ya, seperti hadith, yang diambil oleh orang zahir dari manusia yang telah kojol, dari yang kojol. Sedangkan mereka para sufi mendapat ilmu terus dari Tuhan yang telah menyusup dalam darah mereka.

Begitu juga mereka tidak marahkan kaum kuffar ketika kaum kuffar menghinakan Al Quran, kerna apabila mereka sampai pada peringkat wahdatul wujud dengan kacamata wahdatul syuhud, yang ada hanyalah Allah semata-mata. Yang menonggeng itu adalah Allah, yang berak iti juga adalah Allah, yang tengah menyalah itu pun Allah, dan yang tengan merampok dan merogol itu pun Allah.

Begitu juga diri mereka adalah Allah. Maka yang sedang bikin filem dan yang sedang menghinakan Al Quran itu pun Allah juga. Maka apakah yang harus dipusing-pusingkan kalau seorang Allah mahu memansuhkan ayat Allah yang telah berusia ribuan tahun? Itu wajar diterima dengan tenang.

Maka ketika seorang sufi sampai pada peringkat uzlah, maka mereka harus untuk mengosongkan diri dari sebarang hal-hal dunia, kerana itulah para sufi yang menempat di gua-gua tak akan mendengar khabar bahawa Al Quran sedang diminta mansuh, malah kalau dengar pun, mereka tak akan berbuat apa-apa, kerna saat itu mereka harus melarikan diri dari hal-hal dunia.

Kerana itulah ketika perang Salib meletus, yang mana umat Islam memerlukan dokongan wang, senjata, tenaga, dan fatwa, Abu Hamid Al Ghazali terberosok dalam gua dengan meratib merabannya yang panjang. Dia tak hiraukan nyawa manusia Muslim dan dia tak hiraukan kalau Salahuddin Ayub tumpas dan islam tabrak. Baginya, manusia yang menganut Islam tidak lah berharga, kalau semuanya manusai muslim hapus dan tiada seorang pun menganut Islam, itu tidak mengapa.

Maka begitu juga ketika seorang sufi mendengar dan menonton filem ini, mereka harus bersabar dan menahan diri dari nafsu ammarah dan gelojak jahat dalam diri. kerna bagi mereka, ini adalah dugaan yang Tuhan berikan dan mereka harus lolos dengan hati yang tenang.

Justeru, setiap peringkat sang sufi itu, akan menjurus kepada tiada jihad, yang ada bagi mereka hanyalah jihad melawan nafsu sendiri.

Eighteen years ago, Rashin Soodmand’s father was hanged in Iran for converting to Christianity. Now her brother is in a Mashad jail, and expects to be executed under new religious laws brought in this summer. Alasdair Palmer reports.

A month ago, the Iranian parliament voted in favour of a draft bill, entitled “Islamic Penal Code”, which would codify the death penalty for any male Iranian who leaves his Islamic faith. Women would get life imprisonment. The majority in favour of the new law was overwhelming: 196 votes for, with just seven against.

Imposing the death penalty for changing religion blatantly violates one of the most fundamental of all human rights. The right to freedom of religion is enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and in the European Convention of Human Rights. It is even enshrined as Article 23 of Iran’s own constitution, which states that no one may be molested simply for his beliefs.

And yet few politicians or clerics in Iran see any contradiction between a law mandating the death penalty for changing religion and Iran’s constitution. There has been no public protest in Iran against it.

David Miliband, Britain’s Foreign Secretary, stands out as one of the few politicians from any Western country who has put on record his opposition to making apostasy a crime punishable by death. The protest from the EU has been distinctly muted; meanwhile, Germany, Iran’s largest foreign trading partner, has just increased its business deals with Iran by more than half. Characteristically, the United Nations has said nothing.

It is a sign of how little interest there is in Iran’s intention to launch a campaign of religious persecution that its parliamentary vote has still not been reported in the mainstream media…

Ganske i overensstemmelse med den muhamedanske krigsmanual, koranen. Så kan vi jo se, hvordan det kommer til at gå herhjemme, hvis ellers vore velnærede pampere i Folketinget bliver ved at forholde sig underdanigt eller passivt til islamisk indvandring.

Europas befolkninger er udsat for en målrettet salamitaktik, som indtil videre har bevæget sig fra halal-kød i skolerne over terrorangreb i London og Madrid, til lokale sharia-råd og optøjer (LLJ, Low Level Jihad) i Frankrig, Danmark, England, Tyskland...

Bare vent - de ting, som sker i dag, ville man jo været erklæret sindssyg for at forudsige for bare 8 år siden. Og den muhamedanske indvandring fortsætter, tiden går, og der sker ikke andet end flere penge ud af danske skatteborgeres lomme til "integration", og på det mentale plan apologisering og fornægtelse af fakta, hvilket er ganske i vestlig udenrigspolitisk tradition.

Man rørte heller ikke en finger, hverken diplomatisk eller militært, selv om alle vidste hvad der foregik, da osmannerne slagtede de kristne armenere. Og nu får vi måske samme tur som armenerne efter en årrække. Karma?

Husk, at islam ca. 300 år efter, at muhammed stillede de violette snabeltyrkersko, havde underlagt sig landområderne fra Morocco til Indien, og var godt på vej op i Europa. Det kan - og vil - også ske her i Europa, hvis ikke magthaverne vågner op - denne gang dog nok næppe med sværd. Der er langt effektivere våben tilgængelige for jihadister, og de har penge nok.

Men de ædle herrer og damer i Folketinget vil sandsynligvis blot snorke videre og hænge fast ved deres egen politiske karriere, og så senere i lyset af tilbuddet "Konvertér eller dø!" , lave "puha" i deres bukser og så konvertere til islam, beordre alle danskere til at skifte religion og få nogle gode ben at gnave på, ligesom nu.

Kan I se det for jer - Folketinget starter med at alle medlemmer i kor skriger Allahu Akbar, og derefter nedlægger sig selv og flytter hovedkvarteret til stormasjid'en ved Københavns Universitet på Amager.

Ja undskyld, hvis ovenstående paragraffer kan virke off-topic, men islam er et internationalt anliggende, islams love er gyldige for islam-troende uanset hvor og hvornår, og de kommer her til med klankultur og mentalitet intakte. Hvis ikke demokratiske stater siger utvetydigt nej til særbehandling af islam, går det grumme galt inden for de næste tyve år.

I dag har islam her i Vesten ændret strategien til det demografiske: masseindflytning og fødemaskiner i burqa og heejab, klankultur samt overtagelse af EU og UN , godt hjulpet på vej af de "anstændige humanister" og venstrefløjen, som i islam ser en afløser for Chamberlain, Emma Goldman, Che Guevara og Stalin at dåne over.

I Østen er menneskeliv stadig - i 2008 - intet værd, hvor islam er i overtal, som nedenstående historie fra Iraq tydeligt fortæller.

Det var nogle velkomne meldinger, der udgik fra Bagdad i går. Regeringen i den irakiske hovedstad lovede at sende regeringsmedlemmer og embedsmænd de næsten 400 kilometer mod nord for at undersøge den ”pinefulde situation”, der er opstået i byen Mosul. Mellem 900 og 1500 familier har – afhængigt af, hvem man spørger – taget flugten ud af byen efter en række drab på kristne i byen. De fordrevne og flere advokater siger, at der er tale om en systematisk kampagne for at få kristne til at forlade byen og rykke i mindre, kristne enklaver i nærheden.

Regeringen bebudede i går også en større militær indsats, der skal supplere udsendelsen af 1000 politifolk. Målet er at genskabe roen og sikkerheden i Mosul, og fra både kristne lovgiveres og militærets side blev der udtrykt håb om, at det ville føre til, at de fordrevne kristne ville vende tilbage til byen.

Man må håbe, de får ret. Og at de får ret i en fart. For listen med historiske eksempler på, hvor let det er at skabe en exodus fra et område og få uønskede etniske grupper – eller mennesker med en anden religiøsitet – til at søge sammen i enklaver for at opnå sikkerhed, er ufattelig lang. Det starter som regel i det små med målrettede angreb - såsom kidnapningen og drabet på den katolske ærkebiskop i Mosul i februar – og så bliver intensiteten lige så stille øget. Selv en langsom udvikling får mange til at fortrække. Flugten er ofte allerede i gang, inden volden for alvor bryder ud.

Det er derfor åbenlyst, at myndighederne – centralt, såvel som lokalt – reagerer alt for sent, og at deres opgave med at forsikre de fordrevne om, at de kan vende hjem, derfor er tilsvarende sværere.

Hvis der overhovedet er et håb, så knytter det sig i øjeblikket kun til de nyligt flygtede kristne. Mange andre, der allerede er forduftet, enten til enklaverne i ”bibelbæltet” eller – for de flestes vedkommende – til udlandet, vil være endnu sværere at overbevise. Og mildt sagt ikke uden grund.

Allerede op gennem 1990’erne blev det sværere at være kristen i Irak, da Saddam Hussein gradvist forlod den strengt sekulære kurs, og religion fik en stærkere rolle. I 2001 røg eksempelvis alle præster og kirkebyggerier ind under ministeriet for islamitiske ejendomme, og efter Saddam blev væltet i 2003 gik det helt galt med sekterisk vold, og halvdelen af Iraks dengang 700.000 kristne har forladt landet siden.

Den udvikling må og skal standses, og den irakiske regering må derfor tage den nuværende situation dybt alvorligt og løse den, før det er for sent.

Being slain is but one way of meeting death, and the martyr is the one who gives himself, expectant of reward from Allah."

Why would people want to name a Christian organization "Campus Crusade for Christ"? I mean, those two names are almost interchangeable, depending on your particular religious affiliation. As a friend of mine just remarked after I told him about this blog, "I never thought about that before, but even I'm offended by [campus crusade]." He is white, male, soon to be a college graduate, and therefore probably the ideal target for the "Crusade".

I don't know much about Campus Crusade, certainly not enough to rail against their ideas about evangelism (though I have heard a few things... let's just say I'm not a huge advocate of leaflets and formulaic prayers for salvation — but what do I know?) I can however offer a critique of their name, and the message that this sends to people unfamiliar with what they do.

Even if they were the most selfless Christians that ever existed, exemplifying Christ in every word and deed and engaging in ceaseless prayer and worship and community. Even if they were, to put it simpler, perfect, that still would be tainted by their name. For many Christians (I should be able to say all, but sadly cannot considering the state of things), the Crusades are a period of history that we would rather leave in the past. In fact, if spend any time reflecting on those times, it should be out of a desire to understand how we got the point we are at in Muslim-Christian relations today and a desire to begin the process of reconciliation for acts that have never been forgotten.

I am overreacting, I think, but at the same time we should seriously consider the effect title and names can have on the way people see Christianity. If, say, the Pope decided to change his title to Fuhrer, I think that would cause some alarm. If Christians decided to start an organization called the "Junior High Inquisition for Christ Jesus" (Jesus is more alliterative), we would probably react negatively. Why hasn't there been a discussion about this name?

At this point I am going to finish this blog, because anything from here on would likely be speculation about the intentions or nature of Campus Crusade, about which I know very little. However, I would encourage you to think about this and the general point of how names and terms we use within Christianity can have an adverse effect to the gospel. I am by no means saying that the use of terms is inherently detrimental to Christianity, as some critics of the study of Theology assert, but that we must think about these things from the perspective of "outsiders".

Anyway, let me know what you think. I know I am being a bit unnecessarily provocative, but I don't care. I just worked all day and this has been bugging me the past few days.

Gayle Quinnell: I went to the library in Shakopee and I got lots of ... three pages of information about Obama

Adam Aigner of NBC News: And what kind of information did you get?

Quinnell: I got to tell you, you call me. It's a long story. I'm afraid of what's going to happen to this country.

Aigner: What would you think would happen? Do you think it would become Muslim country and what would that mean?

Quinnell: It would be bad

Aigner: So even though Senator McCain told you that he didn't feel that was true and you ought to be more respectful, you still fear that?

Quinnell: I still do. Yeah. I'm not alone. I go to Burnsville, the main Republican headquarters and I do a lot of work over there. A lot of sending out mail and talking to people. And all the people agree with what I'm saying to you about Obama.

Aigner :Then do you feel there are a lot of volunteers for McCain who feel that way?

Quinnell: Yes. A lot of them. In fact I got a letter from another woman that goes over there to Burnsville and she sent me more things about Obama.

Aigner: What was on the letter?

Quinnell: Oh all kinds of bad things about him and how, I mean I have to tell you to call me. It's all bad.

Reporter: Are a lot of people getting this letter and are a lot of people believeing it and is that turning a lot of votes or support for McCain?

Quinnell: Yeah, but he's still got Muslim in him. So that's still part of him. I got all the stuff from the library and I could send you all kinds of stuff on him. In fact....

Bash: What did you think about McCain said. He said he's a decent person.

Quinnell: Well he did have didn't have (unintelligible)... I think McCain wanted to (unintelligible) I don't think he wanted to say anything against him. You know he didn't want to cut him down. That was my way of thinking. I don't think he wanted to cut him down. So he just kind of brushed me off.

Reporter: Plus he criticizes Barack Obama plenty himself, so why wouldn't he do it now?

Quinnell: Well I probably brought up something that he didn't want to talk about.

Reporter: Do you think John McCain thinks that he's Arab? Do you think he knows this stuff that you're saying you know is fact?

Quinnell: I don't know. I don't know. Maybe he doesn't want to bring it up then. I don't know why. Is there some way I can get to you more information.

Bash: Can you wait for me for like five more minutes?

Quinnell: Yeah.

Bash: I want to an interview on camera. Our camera team is occupied right now. What's your name?

I think Campbell Brown put it best:

First, though, cutting through the bull. Now, you may find it hard to believe that this remains an issue in this campaign, but it does. The candidates, both candidates, are still getting questions about Barack Obama's ethnicity and religion. If you are even semi-informed, then, by now, you already know that, of course, that Barack Obama is an American, of course, Barack Obama is a Christian. Yet, just a few days ago, here was a woman at a rally for John McCain incorrectly calling Obama an Arab.

Now, I commend Senator McCain for correcting that woman, for setting the record straight.

But I do have one question. So what if he was? So what if Obama was Arab or Muslim? So what if John McCain was Arab or Muslim? Would it matter? When did that become a disqualifier for higher office in our country? When did Arab and Muslim being dirty words, the equivalent of dishonorable or radical?

Whenever this gets raised, the implication is that there's something wrong with being an Arab-American or a Muslim. And the media is complicit here, too. We have been all way too quick to accept the idea that calling someone Muslim is a slur.

I feel like I'm stating the obvious here, but, apparently, it needs to be said. There is a difference between radical Muslims who support jihad against America and Muslims who want to practice their religion freely and have normal lives, like everybody else.

There are more than 1.2 million Arab-Americans and about 7 million Muslim Americans, former Cabinet secretaries, members of Congress, successful business people, normal, average Americans from all walks of life. These are the people that are being maligned here every time this happens. And we can only imagine how this conversation plays out in the Muslim world.

We can't tolerate this ignorance, not in the media, not on the campaign trail. Of course he's not an Arab. Of course he's not a Muslim, but, honestly, it shouldn't matter.

Things are complicated out there. You may or may not be aware that your nervous system filters out the massive amount of data that your senses are exposed to. As a matter of conservation of energy (real and metaphorical) you are attending to very little of your environment based on your history and the current value you have for some segment of it.

Let me frame this for your consideration…

Due to our complexity as humans, when things are not there, we sometimes see things. (No, it is not the 60’s.) What’s more, when things are there in front of us and available for our experience, we don’t see them.

Two Experiments to consider…

1. In a recent paper in Science, Whitson and Galinsky (2008) found when individuals are unable to gain a sense of control objectively they will gain it perceptually through illusory pattern perception meaning they will identify “stuff” among a stimuli in their environment that don’t really exist. They are not hallucinating in the usual sense of the word. They are generating information to provide continuity linking what they can just as is sensory data is generated in sensory deprivation experiments.

Whitson, et.al, empirically found that people generate pattern perceptions to make sense of the events in their environment when they experience lack of control of the environmental events they are experiencing.

Now, consider what that means…

• It means we don’t see the flaws in people we are connected to or that we see the flaws where none exist
• it means that we see a conspiracy from a new boss when we don’t yet exist to the new boss
• it means we identify objects in random noise images where there are none
• it means we see mechanistic cause and effect relationships where no links exist
• it means we see correlations in economic markets in companies we like
• it means we don’t see how our behavior is like the behavior of someone we don’t like
• it means we can’t tell why people like us or dislike us when they do
• it means that we can’t see the flaws in our children as they lie dead with a needle in their arm
• it means that we can be more than one kind of person every day of our lives
• it means that people not like us are suspicious and people like us are allies

Staggering, isn’t it!

Examples of superstitious behavior in the modern world are countless – sports super heroes involved in astrology, learned rituals so complex that someone once referred to a baseball player as “his own seventh inning stretch” due to the time he took to address each pitch. Religion, prayer, sacrificial rituals, appeasements, holidays, traditions, incantations, etc. all come from making relationships where none exist.   Gasuntheit!

When you are uncertain about your environment and don’t perceive you have control, know what is going on, etc., it is disconcerting. In terms of how we learn, not perceiving you have control is an aversive stimulus equal to shock, rejection, pain, or other punishers. Faced with uncertainty, lack of control, people look for patterns [ah, the value of search] in their environments to re-establish control. When it is not there empirically, we try to establish it perceptually with vision playing the lead role.

With the dearth of information and conflicting data sets it is a constant challenge to understand what is related and what isn’t. In an election year the conspiracies exist for those that most not understanding why their candidate is losing since they see the relationships between them and the agenda as a citizen. The media, the polls, the moderators, the economy, the Jews, the youth, the women…etc. are all plotting to undo the trailing candidate.

2. The following video  is based on research by Simons and Chabris from Indiana University. It is very interesting for several reasons, all of which you’ll see if you FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS OF THE PRESENTER EXACTLY.

After you see it spend some time thinking how that affects what your life is like, how research is done and how the world works. After all that, come back write or respond with what you think the implications are of the research.

The lesson here isn’t simple. If we were to want a society free from magical thoughts, then we need expand the tolerance for people to live in ambiguity in some areas, educate people on how feelings and emotions are the exhaust of perceived contingencies and how the environment comes to control behavior via consequences.

Well, sorry to burst your Xenophobic bubble my friend - tis' not the reality of Jihad. It's actually isn't even close to the reality.

When making statements like "I hate you damn Jihadies" or "you Jihadists are gunna' ruin Amerika" you need to ask yourself if you even know what the word JIHAD means.I suspect most of you are just regurgitating what another pathetic Islamophobe has taught you. 99.9% of people who misunderstand Jihad have not read the Qur'an, gone to a Muslim for understanding or even sought out a proper definition.

So lets sit around the table kids. It's time for JIHAD 101:

1. Jihad is a religious duty of Muslims. It's English translation (from Arabic) means "strive" or "struggle"

2. Jihad appears frequently in the Qur'an as "striving in the way of Allah (al-jihad fi sabil Allah)"

3. According to Christian scholar John Esposito, Jihad requires Muslims to "struggle in the way of God" or "to struggle to improve one's self and/or society."

4. During the period of Qur'anic revelation while Muhammad (peace be upon him) was in Mecca (610-622), jihad meant essentially a nonviolent struggle to spread Islam.

5. Like Christianity, Islam permits fighting in self-defense, in defense of religion, or on the part of those who have been expelled forcibly from their homes.

The Qur'an lays down strict rules of combat that include prohibitions against harming civilians and against destroying crops, trees and livestock- apparently the crazy Ayrab Jihadists are STRICTLY prohibited from hurting even trees or crops...I bet you didn't know that :)

According to Islam, injustice would be triumphant in the world if good people were not prepared to risk their lives in a righteous cause.

One reads in the Qur'an:

"Fight in the cause of God against those who fight you, but do not transgress limits. God does not love transgressors." (Qur'an 2:190)

"And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for God. But if they desist, then let there be no hostility except against wrongdoers." (Qur'an 2:193)

"If they seek peace, then you seek peace. And trust in God for He is the One that hears and knows all things." (Qur'an 8:61)

As Muslims we have a right to fight against those who fight us and to STRUGGLE in our right to worship Allah (God). This does not always entail KILLING someone and even when it does we must be attacked first. War is therefore the last resort, and is subject to the rigorous conditions laid down by the sacred law in the Qur'an.

So to end this matter of factly I would like to say that I love Jihad - with a passion.

I struggle each and everyday to worship Allah (God) and so do my Muslim brothers and sisters.
