Zur Zeit tauchen - wahrscheinlich vor allem in Personenkreisen mittleren Alters - immer wieder irgend welche "Remember Events" auf. Remember dies und remember das - und alles mit einem recht guten Zulauf - beim ersten Mal. Das Remember Thema trifft die Menschen bei ihrem Bedürfnis, alte Freunde und Bekannte mal wieder zu sehen, sich mit ihnen zu unterhalten und etwas über ihr aktuelles Leben zu erfahren.

Für den Erfolg eines solchen Anlasses ist es kritisch, die Entwicklung der Zielgruppe in Betracht zu ziehen. Einfach den alten Anlass zu kopieren, z.B. den damaligen DJ im Original-Lokal auf die Kanzel holen, reicht vielleicht als Anziehungspunkt für einen ersten Event. Und bei der zweiten Durchführung bleiben die Leute dann zu Hause. Hier wird oft vergessen, dass die jeweiligen Menschen älter geworden sind. Sie haben Familie und wollen eher zusammen reden, als sich in wummernden Beats zu der Musik von damals räkeln. Das alles ist stellvertretend gemeint für ein Event-Konzept, das an der Zielgruppe vorbei geplant worden war.

Gleichzeitig können Remember Events auch nur in relativ grossen Abständen abgehalten werden. Man hat's 10 oder 15 Jahre ohne die anderen Menschen von damals ausgehalten, dann will man sie jetzt wohl nicht jeden Monat treffen. Ein mal im Jahr, höchstens zwei Mal dürfte dem Rahmen einigermassen gerecht werden. Sprengt man dieses Mass, dann verliert sich das Interesse und die Menschen bleiben aus. Bescheidenheit zahlt sich hier auf jeden Fall aus.

My favorite pick for a quiet personal rendezvous. Housed in Leela Palace, with British style interiors done very tastefully, the library bar makes an excellant setting to drink and lounge. While I was taken back in time with the ambience alone, the music is fantastic. A lazy evening with Don McLean's 'starry starry night' in the background, just sipping on your favorite drink is quite an experience. You wouldn't find a very happening or a young crowd here. You'll have to step into Athena next door for that! This place is sophisticated, classy and refreshing. Be aware that all good things in life come with a price, and I promise you this one is a treat! Just go for the experience.

Saturday morning: Try Crossfit Women's Workout

Crossfit is all the rage these days, and no one can really explain to me what it is. I think it's glorified personal training, but whatev--I'll try it! I mean, I ran 11.5 miles at 7:30 am last Saturday, surely I can get up for a 9 am class, right?

Saturday noon: Play flag football!
