Mi-am adus aminte de vremurile în care stăteam în fiecare zi în faţa televizorului aşteptând să înceapă un nou serial cu ţăcăniţii ăia. Nu mă putea dezlipi din faţa ecranului când erau alea. Ce bine că există internet. Şi mai ales You Tube. M-am delectat puţin cu câteva episoade din seria Muppets. Vă las şi vouă linkul, poate vreţi să mai ascultaţi o dată melodia sau să vă uitaţi la maimuţoii de pluş.

You've heard about the all new Muppet movie script that Forgetting Sarah Marshall star (and Judd Apatow gang member) Jason Segel has been working on? Well, according to The Sun, there's a chance that if the big-screen project is a commercial and critical success, it might spin off into an all new Muppet TV series. Squeeeeeee!

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG please let this be true!

I love The Muppets and they star in one of my favorite attractions at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Muppet Vision 3-D. I even have a Beaker plush that sits on my desk at work, soon I will be adding a Dr. Bunsen Honeydew. OK I think it's time to purchase the DVD set of the original Muppet Show, until then it's off to You Tube for Muppet Clips, I even enjoyed the short lived Muppets Tonight that aired on ABC.

OMG OMG OMG Squeeee!

This newest film will be about the Muppets reuniting to save their studio with one last variety show. Shocking concept I know.  But with Jim Henson no longer being with us, I hope Frank Oz helps keep the Muppet voices true to form, and that the Disney ownership of the characters don't take us away from what was awesome in the 70's.  I remember when they came back for ABC's TGIF for a minute, it didn't have the same feel.  Don't get me wrong.  Any excuse to see Waldorf and Stadler heckle is fine by me...and I'll definitely see Segal's version in the theater....but if it does get picked up as a TV show, make sure the guests are Muppet worthy.

I had the kids in the car last week, and I mentioned Beaker. Do you remember Beaker? I loved Beaker and Dr. Bunson Honeydew. My family watched the Muppet show together when I was growing up and we all loved it. It's just one of those shows that has something for everyone.

My kids, though, had never heard of him. (Boy, don't I feel old!) When we got home, I decided to search YouTube to see if I could show Beaker to the kids. What happened next was a trip down memory lane for me, as one skit led to the next. We followed from here:

Who doesn't love Don Music? I've been singing that version since I was little. My kids have always looked at me like I was nuts. We had to go through all of the Don Music skits after we watched this one. It cracks me up they love all my old favorites as much as I did.

Interesting to note the silence from the Bok-camp this week in the run-up to next match against the Wallabies. Has someone finally shoved a much-needed ball-gag into Pieter de Villiers' mouth? I don't dislike the guy personally (he reminds me of Inspector Clouseau or Fozzy from the Muppets) but he's in dire need of a PR manager. Someone to shut him up before he makes a bigger ass of himself.

Week after week goes by with the Div spouting baloney about the team, the opposition, the refs...and week after week goes by without a win. Pieter needs to learn to shut up, show up and put up.

I won't criticise his theories on rugby.

Well, actually I will.

Playing single-style rugby will get you an ass-whipping everytime.

I appreciate that he wants to change the game to a more expansive, running style of rugby, but you can't throw out everything else while you're doing it. Whether it's kicking, running or set-piece focused play, you're going to see your ass if your game-plan doesn't adapt to the conditions and the opponent. And while I understand that he wants to stamp his mark on the team, you can't just drop everything Jake White did. You gotta build on it. Throw out what doesn't work, for sure but don't change everything just because you want to be the man.

Despite this, the Boks are favourites going into Saturday's game...if only because the Wallabies are suffering injuries.

Of course the Div's tenure as coach has provided us with a collection of absolute pearler quotes.  I hope they don't fire him. His quotes are the only things worth smiling about when it comes to South African rugby. Here's a few for your enjoyment:

He was hairy, he was loud, he was drunk all the time and we never knew it, but he was doing blast beats before Napalm Death.  He was the best musician on the muppets, but he was so far ahead of his time, no one knew.  Animal is metal.

Anyway, here's the clip, of Beaker getting inspired to sing Ode to Joy, from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.  He joins in with himself to sing harmony and play instruments, and then, well, you probably already know what will happen because it's Beaker -- things will go wrong somehow.  :)
