Senator Obama's overseas trip is scheduled to have him make visits to the Middle East, Germany, France and England. His trip began covered by a shroud of secrecy, which advisers said was due to security concerns set forth by the Secret Service. A motorcade left Sen. Obama's home in Chicago's Hyde Park/Kenwood neighborhood at 11:11 a.m (local time) on Thursday morning, heading for Chicago's Midway Airport. From Midway, a Gulfstream III executive jet took off for Washington's Reagan National Airport carrying Obama, the senior Obama spokesperson, two reporters and eight Secret Service Agents.

About 85 minutes later, the plane landed at Reagan, and Obama's motorcade traveled from there to Andrews Air Force Base. At Andrews, Obama entered an aircraft that had no markings, with the exception of an American flag on the tail. Mark Lippert, a foreign policy advisor to Obama in his Washington office, Senators Jack Reed and Chuck Hagel were on the plane when it took off from Andrews Air Force Base shortly after 3 p.m. (ET). No reporters accompanied him on the plane to Afghanistan.

Obama Arrives in Afghanistan

Senator Barack Obama made a secret stop in Kuwait, visiting with U.S. servicemen there, and then flew on to Kabul, Afghanistan, where he arrived early Saturday morning. He would open his first overseas trip as the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee by meeting with American military commanders there (and later in Iraq) to receive an on-the-ground assessment of military operations in the two major U.S. war zones.

Mr. Obama touched down in Kabul at 3:15 a.m. Eastern time, according to a pool report released by his aides. In addition to attending briefings with military leaders, he hoped to meet with President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan before flying to Iraq later in the weekend. His advisers said that Mr. Obama had chosen to begin his trip in Afghanistan because he believes that the region is among the most important foreign policy challenges facing the United States.

It is the first trip to Afghanistan for Mr. Obama, a member of the Foreign Relations Committee. Obama has said he wants to send two additional U.S. combat brigades, about 7,000 troops, to Afghanistan. He has advocated reducing the U.S. force in Iraq so that troops can be redeployed to Afghanistan to quell the threat from al-Qaeda operatives and their supporters in the resurgent Taliban movement.

Obama has also accused his Republican opponent, Arizona Sen. John McCain, of waffling aboout whether to send more troops to Afghanistan, criticizing the decorated Vietnam war veteran for voting to go to war in Iraq and saying the loss of focus on the fight against the Taliban and al-Qaeda in Afghanistan has been a "grave mistake."

Security in the Afghan capital was noticeably tighter Saturday, but Obama's visit was little known and little remarked upon in the streets of the city.

Ha pasado nuevamente. Le dimos la bienvenida al siglo XX con la tragedia de Armenia y, luego, la de Rwanda. Verdaderos genocidios.

Actualmente, en el país más grande de África, Sudán, se vive una historia que se antoja el guión de una película de terror. Lo que pasa en Sudán -Darfur para ser más exactos- es la destrucción de un pueblo ante la indiferencia del mundo.

Pensemos en una joven de 16 años. A esa edad se está rebosante de vida, plena de ilusiones y de planes. Para la mayoría, los grandes problemas a los que se enfrenta son la escuela, creer que nadie le comprende y las primeras decepciones amorosas, pero para otras jovencitas la vida es tan diferente...

Se llama Fatmah. En sus ojos apenas se ve un poco de brillo, y en su mirada se mezclan el dolor y un dejo de esperanza por recuperar lo que le fue arrebatado.

Una mañana, mientras recogía leña para llevar a su familia, tres hombres armados, montando a camello, la rodearon y le impidieron el paso. La tiraron de un empellón y la detuvieron de sus manos mientras que, uno detrás del otro, la fueron violando.

Cuando pudo incorporarse, hizo un esfuerzo por llegar con los suyos y contarles lo que había ocurrido. No encontró apoyo ni solidaridad con su pena: la corrieron y tuvo que construir su propia casa lejos de su familia. Como estaba comprometida, el novio no quiso casarse con ella y le dijo que la dejaba porque había sido "desgraciada y manchada".

El tiempo transcurrió. Estaba embarazada, consecuencia de la violación tumultuaria. Uno de esos malditos días, la policía se presentó en su humilde casa y, a punta de pistola, la trasladaron a la estación. Ahí la interrogaron y ella se atrevió a contar lo sucedido. Le dijeron que, como no estaba casada, el tener un hijo en esas condiciones era ilegal y tenía que recibir el castigo correspondiente: la golpearon repetidas veces con un látigo en el pecho y en la espalda y, luego, la encerraron en una celda diminuta donde otras 23 mujeres, con historias muy parecidas, permanecían privadas de su libertad.

Durante el día, eran obligadas por los policías a caminar la pozo, hasta cuatro veces en el día, para traerles agua, además de limpiar y cocinar para ellos. No comía nada más que lo que pudiera conseguirse durante su jornada de trabajo y únicamente bebía agua cuando estaba en el pozo.

Permaneció diez días presa. Fue liberada, pero le advirtieron que tendría que seguir pagando por su "delito". Los policías quieren 65 dólares que es una fortuna y, a la vez, es nada si tomamos en cuenta que por la libertad de un niño en Darfur se ha pagado 50 dólares.

Son aproximadamente cuatro millones de personas que necesitan urgentemente de que el mundo los mire para ayudarlos. La mitad de ellos viven en refugios, lejos de sus hogares destruidos por los temibles "caballeros diabólicos", significado de Janjawid, milicias árabes entrenadas para matar.

Los niños mueren a consecuencia de una grave desnutrición, amén de neumonías, fiebres, diarreas, picaduras de animales... En 2006, la Organización Mundial de la Salud se ha esforzado por brindarles servicios de salud a los habitantes de Darfur.

Se ha culpado al gobierno sudanés por las matanzas. Nicolás Sarkozy, presidente de Francia, ha enfatizado la importancia de "movilizar a la comunidad internacional para decir: ¡ya basta! No estamos en el siglo XXI para ver estas imágenes. Seres humanos mueren por decenas en este lugar del mundo. No podemos dejar la situación en este estado. Hay que reaccionar rápido".

Desde el 2004, la tragedia de Darfur ha sido considerada como un genocidio. Los primeros mandatarios de Estados Unidos e Inglaterra han tomado algunas acciones -no las suficientes- como pronunciarse en contra de la intervención militar en la zona de conflicto (como fue el caso de Inglaterra) y Bush decretó un embargo de armas, aunque China se las está vendiendo a Sudán porque tiene interés en el petróleo de la región.

Como dijo Albert Einstein: "El mundo no está amenazado por las malas personas sino por aquellos que permiten la maldad". Volver los ojos hacia donde hay sufrimiento y angustia, es tener un poco de humanidad.

Les droits de parole de l'opposition
Le site du premier ministre a réuni les propositions qu'a fait Nicolas SARKOZY lors de son entretien à Le Monde concernant les droits de l'opposition. Vous pouvez voir l'article ici.
Le sujet de l'article est donc sur l'organisation médiatique du temps de parole entre la majorité et l'opposition. Le mot « débat » ( dans l'article du site du premier ministre) est donc à une échelle parlementaire.

Dans 4 jours, le Parlement se réunira en Congrès à Versailles pour décider l'adoption de la réforme des institutions. La réforme des institutions compte plusieurs débats dont celui du temps de parole.

Depuis l'arrivée au pouvoir de Nicolas SARKOZY en Mai 2007, la principale opposition qui est le Parti Socialiste demande un décompte du temps de parole du président aux médias, car il utilisait trop les médias à son aise.
Hier, après que le Sénat avait adopté la réforme des institutions, Nicolas SARKOZY avait fait un entretien aà Le Monde où il lui proposait le choix de « répondre chaque fois que le président de la République tiendra un propos qui concerne la politique française ».
Les socialistes ne changeaient pas d'avis: réforme « trop tardives pour être sincères, trop aléatoires pour être appliquées et trop limitées pour être efficaces » selon Manuel VALLS ( PS ), invité du Talk - Orange / Le Figaro.fr ; « le débat est clos » pour François HOLLANDE ( PS ) sur TF1.

Le temps de parole n'apparait plus comme un amendement, car il a été « débattu » à la dernière minute et après que le Parlement, la majorité et l'opposition se soit mis d'accord sur les perspectives de vote de la réforme.
La proposition de Nicolas SARKOZY était insuffisante pour qu'elle soit acceptée par les socialistes. Nicolas SARKOZY voulait dans ce qu'il voulait faire réorganiser l'organisation médiatique de ses interventions, mais ne voulait pas décompter son temps de parole comme le demandait l'opposition.

Le temps de parole faisait partie des cinq conditions des socialistes pour qu'ils votent l'adoption de la réforme des institutions. Cette condition avait but pour Nicolas SARKOZY d'avoir le « oui » des socialistes. Les parlementaires socialistes se sont prononcés sur l'étude de la condition par Nicolas SARKOZY et on redit « non » comme l'avait fixé le Parti Socialiste quelques heures avant.

J’ai rencontré mercredi Nicolas Sarkozy à l’Élysée. L’objet de l’entretien était d’entendre ses nouvelles propositions sur la réforme des institutions. Il feignait de croire qu’elles étaient nouvelles, il s’agissait en définitive que de la reprise des déclarations d’intentions antérieures sans aucune traduction concrète….

Ensuite il évoquait la constitution d’une commission indépendante pour le redécoupage des circonscriptions. Franchement c’est bien le moins ! On voit mal une réorganisation de l’ensemble du paysage électoral pour les élections législatives  sans l’intervention de l’opposition.
Enfin il nous faisait la promesse qu’il ne toucherait pas au mode de scrutin des élections régionales, mais qu’en même temps il avait pour objectif un remodelage du paysage territorial français qui pourrait faire disparaître départements et régions pour créer je ne sais quelle nouvelle entité, avec son propre régime électoral. Pure stratagème !

…Bref, c’est la présidentialisation du régime, y compris même dans la façon de convaincre les derniers récalcitrants de voter sa réforme. Eh bien nous ne la voterons pas. Car cette révision de la Constitution est uniquement faite pour lui permettre de venir s’adresser à tout moment devant les parlementaires réunis en Congrès, et donc devant tous les français, comme si son intrusion quotidienne dans les media ne suffisait pas....

Du même coup, la France s'en trouve habiller pour l'hiver. Une bien belle réputation.

Notre parodie de chef d'Etat est donc attendu le 21 juillet à Dublin, officiellement pour écouter. En regardant en arrière les conditions dans lesquelles se sont faites les mesures telles que la Carte Judiciaire, le financement du Service Public basé soi-disant sur le rapport Copé, il est évident que le Roy a déjà choisi, mais qu'il a encore parlé trop vite. Impossible pour lui de réfléchir avant de parler. C'est tout Nicolas.

Ayez confiance.
Si vous en doutiez, il n'y a pas que les irlandais qui soient pris pour des buses. De notre côté aussi, nous avons notre lot de "foutage de gueule", désolé d'être aussi vulgaire, mais trop c'est trop.
Concernant la réforme des institutions, on apprend aujourd'hui que tous les partis de l'opposition sont contre sauf...le parti Radical de Gauche.
On se demande bien pourquoi il voterait oui à cette réforme qui concentre encore un peu plus le pouvoir autour du président.
Sans vouloir faire les mauvaises langues, il suffit de se rappeler que Bernard Tapie:

• a vu cette semaine son indemnisation exploser pour atteindre un fabuleux 285 millions d'euros dans l'affaire Adidas / Crédit Lyonnais
• a soutenu ouvertement Nicolas Sarkozy pendant sa campagne présidentielle
• a fait partie du mouvement Parti Radical de Gauche dans les années 80-90

It is time the people of these nations started demanding a referendum as opposed to quietly capitulating to a bunch of slimey liberal scum who lied their way into power and are much more interested in lining their own pockets and serving their elitist masters than doing what the taxpayer pays them for.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has said that Ireland will have to vote once more on the EU treaty, in a move bound to ruffle feathers in Dublin, which has yet to say publicly how it plans to react to last month's treaty rejection.

According to a report in the Irish Times, Mr Sarkozy told a meeting of deputies from his UMP party in Paris on Tuesday (15 July): "The Irish will have to vote again."

Reacting to the comments - which were downplayed but not denied by the French government - Irish foreign minister Micheal Martin said that Mr Sarkozy will listen but not "impose a solution" during the planned five-hour talks next week.

He stressed that Ireland would take its own decision on the matter but it was too early to speculate on what this would be, reports state broadcaster RTE.

Now now, own decision? Like the decision the People of Ireland have already made? I think we know what the Fascists in Brussels think of dissenting decisions.

Adding to his discomfort, European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso told the Italian parliament on Tuesday:"There has only been one No to the ratification of the treaty, and I do not expect any more."

Bloomberg reports him as saying that Polish President Lech Kaczynski had told him his country would not block treaty ratification. Mr Barroso also said the Czech Republic would not pose a problem.

Meanwhile, an article in French daily Le Monde on Tuesday suggests that as a sop to Ireland, all member states in the future will continue to have a permanent EU commissioner - instead of the reduced commission planned under the Lisbon Treaty.

This, as well as reassurances that abortion, taxation and neutrality issues will not be affected could be debated as part of an Ireland package at the October summit and adopted by EU leaders in December paving the way for a possible second Irish vote next year.

According to the EU, you have freedom of choice so long as you make the choice the Brussels Politburo tells you to. The only reason all of our so-called leaders have been refusing us a referendum on this despicable Constitution Treaty is because we would say NO. Europe-wide polls show rejection rates of 88%. The people do not want the damned thing. The scum in Brussels care not for what you want, they only care that you do what you are told. Don't forget, it is the People who have the power, not the corrupto-crats.

Following Ireland's rejection of the Lisbon treaty last month, some EU leaders – including French President Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel – have said that no further EU enlargement will take place until the document is ratified. However signs look that Ireland is again forcing a referendum.

Accession talks were launched with Croatia in 2005, and the country is hoping to become full EU member by 2011 at the latest. It has so far opened 20 out of its 35-chapter EU negotiations package, while two have been provisionally closed.
