One of the collector series of Nova's was the ones put together by Don Yenko. If you can get your hands on a yenko, grab it! These bad boys are worth so much now, it's crazy. Taking a stock car, and customizing it for muscle and adding in the trade mark stipes and interior design, is amazing.

Don Yenko
Don Yenko was in the business of selling Chevrolets from his two dealerships in Pennsylvania, but he was a racer and a true performance guru at heart. Subsequently, when certain customers demanded a performance upgrade, Yenko would accommodate them right from his shop. In order to handle this end of the business, Yenko created Yenko Sports cars, which specialized in swapping powerful engines into lightweight performance cars such as the Corvair Stinger, 427-powered Camaro and Chevelle and the Yenko Nova and Deuce.

The Yenko big-block Nova was Produced in 1969 and the small-block-inspired Deuce debuted in 1970. The first-year Yenko's numbered 37, of which 28 had a 427 installed by Yenko's crew and 9 left the lot with the factory-installed 375-horse 396 powerplant. According to Yenko, the L72 427-powered Novas were the wildest cars he ever built. They were 396 cars with no SS emblems - and with the right tires and suspension setup, the finished machine was capable of reaching 60 mph in less than four seconds.

The 1970 Yenko Deuce was built, as Yenko put it, "as an insurance beater." Since legislation and the insurance industry were clamping down hard on overpowered street cars, Yenko decided to install a Camaro Z28 LT1 with 360 houses, solid-lifter cam, 12-bolt rear with 4.10:1 Positraction, F-41 suspension and a choice of manual or automatic transmission. 175 versions of the Deuce were built under COPO 9010 and offered in one of eight unique colors. Each car came stock with standard-grade black interior and a front bench seat.

Of the Nova series, one of my favorite nova's is the 1966. I used to hate the 1963 model, but I got over that.

Im still more in love with the 1966.

Hot on the heels of the newly restyled Chevelle came the Chevy II Nova. It, too, underwent a complete restyling in 1966 into what many Nova aficionados consider the most desirable example of the marquee. The new Nova Super Sport was available with the economical six cylinder, or myriad mouse-motor derivatives, but clearly the hot ticket was the L79 version of the 327.

Rated at 350 horsepower, this mighty mouse sported factory hardware that rivaled even the best stuff down at the local speed parts emporium. Forged high-compression pistons, a performance-profile camshaft, big-valve heads, and an aluminum intake mounting a four-barrel Holley comprised the basis of this tarmac terror. Chrome engine accents finished off the package, including the valve covers, oil filler and cap, and the unique dual opposing-snorkel air cleaner. When strapped into a lightweight package like the Nova (less than 3000 pounds, ready to run!), well, you don't need much imagination to figure out the rest. Out of the box, the L79 was good for a 15-second quarter at about 95 mph. With a few judicious tuning tricks, headers, and some much needed slicks, even a novice could click off 13's without much difficulty.

Of the 172,485 Chevy IIs sold during 1966, the Nova Super Sport accounted for 20,986 units. It was also one of the most subtle of the super-cars. There was little to differentiate the SS version from its more sedate siblings, save for a few innocuous emblems found on the grille, rear cove and both flanks. And unlike the Chevelle's unmistakable big-block flags, the Nova's engine emblems weren't giving anything away either; they looked just like the small-block emblems found on Caprices. In fact, because they appeared so harmless, a favorite pastime of many Nova owners was to troll for the unsuspecting on their favorite cruise circuit. Once the hook was set, it took some pretty serious horsepower to put away the L79 Nova. With 5,481 Novas built in 1966 utilizing the mighty mouse L79, Chevrolet's street supremacy was matched only by that of their showrooms.

Czułość urządzenia można regulować w zakresie do 400 do 3200 DPI. Aktualne ustawienie jest sygnalizowane poprzez niewielki wyświetlacz OLED. Raven waży 50 g.

Even with all the hundreds of cable channels pushed upon us...not to mention Netflix and YouTube, some of the best programs are still on your local public broadcasting service (PBS). Here I list my top five favorite ongoing shows on PBS. What makes it great is that PBS also makes them accessible online if you missed them.

Marking its 25th anniversary season, FRONTLINE has built a reputation for powerful reporting that tackles the tough, controversial, and complex stories that shape our times. From Martin Smith's probe into the decisions leading to the tragic aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, to Michael Kirk's investigation of prisoner abuse at Abu Ghraib; from Ofra Bikel's examination of America's racial divide over the O.J. Simpson verdict, to special reports like The Age of AIDS and provocative journeys like Hedrick Smith's search for the answer to the question, Is Wal-Mart Good for America? FRONTLINE gives its award-winning journalists and filmmakers the time needed to thoroughly research a story and the time on-air to tell the story in a compelling way.

Students at Neshaminy's Oliver Heckman Elementary School were advised of the dangers of cyber bullying by our former Pa Governor, Mark Schweiker.

"It's got to be an every-moment-thought for you. If something comes across the screen that you feel is not right, you go tell your teacher, principal or parent about what you saw," said Schweiker. Schwieker is board member of NOVA (Network of Victim Assistance), and actively campaigns against cyber bullying.

Schweiker was accompanied by David Zellis, Bucks County's First Assistant DA, and Verizon representatives. They too helped the students understand what they need to know to avoid cyber-bullies.

Verizon has given NOVA a $24,500 grant to be used to support of Internet safety programs.

NOVA is promoting their new program the slogan, "Think Before You Click." This slogan along with a poster was developed by Isaiah Riveria, at seventh grader at Franklin Delano Roosevelt School. NOVA has printed the poster on mouse pads and will distributing 3,500 school students throughout Bucks County.

One day i hope to pick up a 1966 Chevy Nova SS. I don't know when or how, but when I was a kid, I fell in love with this thing, and I really wanted one.

I had a 1967 model, and a 1978 too.

But I really want the 1966 ss with the 327 block. I ideally want the aquamarine blue with black interior.

It's pretty popular, but not quite as popular as the Camaro.

Anyway, one can dream right?

A few weeks ago, our friends organized an Asian-themed potluck dinner in honor of our friend Devin

A few weeks ago, our friends organized an Asian-themed potluck dinner in honor of our friend Devin’s birthday. If I do say so myself, the spread on the table was fairly impressive for a cluster of financially strapped 20somethings—particularly with the majority of us being an unmistakable shade of lily-white. (As usual, Noah and I provided our crowd-favorite sweet potato sushi, pictured.)

But what really struck me was after dinner, when our Korean friend Linda presented the Korean cake she had picked up for the occasion. I won’t lie: My first thought was, since when does Korean fare consist of more than weird varieties of kimchi? I kid, of course, but I was definitely surprised to hear that a Korean bakery existed in the Washington area. So needless to say, my mind was pretty much blown when Linda went on to describe how after the first Korean bakery she went to was unacceptable, she merely trotted down the street to another nearby Korean bakery.

Where is this hub of Korean baked goods, you ask? Annandale, Virginia. Considering the District is home to exactly ZERO Asian markets, I found it fascinating that one of its suburbs in NoVa apparently has Korean bakeries to spare.

But when you think about it, I guess that makes a lot of sense, like an interview on DCist today reminded me. Author of Ethnic Dining Guide, local economics professor and unlikely foodie Tyler Cowen reminds us every-so-gently that immigrants go where the cheap rent is—namely, anywhere but D.C.

That’s why the “real Chinatown” is in Rockville, Maryland. Or why the only Japanese market we’ve been to since moving to D.C. is in Bethesda. In fact, of Cowen’s favorite ethnic restaurants in the Washington area, only one is actually in D.C. (Thai X-ing). The rest are hidden in places like Herndon, Silver Spring, Fairfax, Falls Church, and Wheaton (who knew they had more than the Western Hemisphere’s longest escalator?).

Of course, none of the above accounts for Ethiopian food, perhaps one of the least-widespread ethnic dining experiences you can have in the U.S. And that, my friends, is D.C.’s domain. Even Cowen agrees.

Some time ago, PBS aired an episode of Nova entitled 'Judgement Day'. It was, in my estimation, an excellent discussion of what went on in the town of Dover when creationists attempted to inject their inanity about how life came to be into a Science class. I highly recommend watching it, as it was an accurate depiction of what went on in the subsequent lawsuit. And, yes, I have read both the trial transcripts and the judge's decision, so I am in a position to make such a judgement call.

The program re-enacted a number of highlights from the trial. Michael Behe, the only member of the Discovery Institute of those originally scheduled to appear, was supposed to be the defence's star witness. It turned out he was an unwitting wringer for the prosecution. Behe is an example of one of the most interesting properties of creationists (or intelligent design) proponents: their inability to change their ideas in the face of overwhelming evidence. Behe has been repeatedly told why his concept of 'irreducible complexity' and the examples he gives for it are completely bogus, yet he has never changed his tune. And this was why he was totally demolished on the witness stand. Of course, Behe produced his pet example of irreducible complexity, the bacterial flagellum.

Bad move. According to his definition of IC, if you remove one of the parts of the motor it ceases to function. But it is this definition which clearly demonstrates Behe's utter lack of understanding of evolutionary processes. Like his mousetrap example, he ignores that the various parts may (and do) have other functions. For some reason, Behe presumes that the flagellum motor is what nature strives for. But nature is blind and strives for nothing. The co-option of structures which have their own function prior to forming a new structure having a new function which is advantageous to survival is a theme common in evolution. Perhaps Behe knows this, but this says even worse about him. He's either ignorant or a liar - take your pick. For the flagellum, much of the motor is comprised of the type III secretory system found in other related bacteria. For the mousetrap, the base, spring and clapper makes a perfectly good (if less than fashionable) tie clasp.

But Behe's problems were about to get worse, and he had only himself to blame. He put his own head on the chopping block and released the guillotine himself. First, he quotes a paper written by an expert on the bacteria flagellum which makes it sound as if the author believed that the flagellum was designed. But as soon as you talk to the author about it (and Nova did), he will (and did) quickly set the record straight: he meant no such thing. This is commonly known as 'quote mining', where a quote with one meaning is taken out of context and when viewed in a vacuum seems to mean something else. This is a favorite tactic of creationists (as many of us well know), and it is totally deceitful. But when Behe did it using the scientific literature as a source, he screwed up. The prosecution witnesses (who, as we shall see) are far more familiar with the relevant literature and knew the intended meaning of what was said and emasculated Behe for it.

It gets worse. Behe made a statement to the effect that there is nothing in the scientific literature which shows how the flagellum could come about through evolutionary processes. Ooopsie. At this point, the prosecution lawyer piles papers and books in front of Behe on that very topic selected by their experts. The defense tried to pass it off as just a cheap lawyer's trick. Indeed, and a great one. This 'cheap lawyer's trick' clearly demonstrated Behe's lack of preparation and the complete laziness in never bothering to find out whether there had been any work on the evolution of the flagellum before making such a statement. Had Behe actually read the material he could have avoided being embarrassed (I'm not sure he was, but he should have been) and scored a point for the defense. Instead, this 'cheap lawyer's trick' elegantly underscored an important point - that Behe is full of crap. Had he tried to publish a paper with such a statement in the discussion, I doubt he would still be teaching at Lehigh. The point is, to say something like that, you have to be up on all of the relevant literature, not just some of it. And Behe hadn't bothered to read any of it. One can only presume that Behe has no interest in the truth and serves as a dishonest broker. His mission in life is to lie to you for Jesus.

Other highlights include the so-called 'Wedge Document' fathered by Phillip Johnson. This outlines the incidious plan (he claims it is not nefarious, but that claim falls on deaf ears here) to inject creationism first into schools, then into Science in general under the guise of so-called 'intelligent design'. But, as Kevin Padian said, intelligent design makes people stupid. As I will talk about in the next blog on this subject, Phillip Johnson is on record for his desire to bring Christ into all scientific theories. So, who is Phillip Johnson? Is he some emminent biochemist like (insert sarcasm here) Behe? A Nobel Laureate in physics? Hardly. He's a LAWYER! I'm all for free speech and all, but c'mon. Everyone has a right to say what they think on a subject, but in the absence of any training in Science, Johnson should have absolutely no expectation that anyone will listen to him, at least not without laughing at him. Yet he curiously does seem to have this expectation. I've got to admire his tenacity, but I have no intention of allowing him or his ilk (like relative newcomer Ben Stein) to accomplish what would be the death of Science.

Behe was also forced to admit on the stand that for ID to be viewed as Science, the very definition of Science would need to be changed in a way that would include astrology and other nonsense. Once the supernatural is included as valid science, why do science at all? Chalk it up to a deity and let's go for a beer! Hey, if it wasn't so contemptably lazy and idiotic, I'd be up for that. In a similar vein, another defence witness had to admit on the stand that no experimental research is being done in ID. In other words, these people don't want to verify their 'theory' (which of course doesn't even exist). What are they afraid of? That they will be wrong? Speaking as a scientist, we have no problem with the overturning of what can be shown by experiment and observation to be falsified hypotheses! What this says to me is that these people know that ID is a bad idea and are just trying to snow their listeners with a lot of technically sounding jargon devoid of any substance.

But the best gaff was contained in the textbook over which this whole bruhaha came from, 'Of Pandas and People'. This book was being written at around the time a similar trial was happening in 1987. When the creationists lost that case, this creationist textbook changed the term 'creationists' to 'design proponents' and simply made a one-for-one substitution in order to circumvent the court's ruling. This lead to the 'transitional fossil' found in one of the drafts, 'cdesign proponentsists'. The judge said it best- the breathtaking inanity.

After the program was aired, PBS opened up a discussion board on their website. You should have seen the wailing and gnashing of teeth! 'Unfair!' 'Unbalanced!' Was it? This program was about the trial and what transpired. Both evolution and intelligent design were explained, even though this wasn't really about either (except insofar as the trial was concerned). Was Behe an idiot on the stand? You bet. The trial transcripts actually made him out to be worse than he was portrayed in the program! That Behe refused to be interviewed for the program was Behe's call. This alone was an interesting topic of discussion. What would you have done if you were Behe? Aside from such a switch drastically dropping your IQ, of course.

'Judgement Day' was indeed an accurate portrayal of the events surrounding the actions of the school board, the truly brave stance taken by the Science class teachers, trial testimony, the terrible treatment of those opposing the introduction of thinly-veiled creationism into a Science class by so-called Christians (including death threats), the perjury by defence witnesses and the subsequent removal of those on the school board which tried to introduce this crap into the classroom. Did all of this happen? Yes, indeed it did. Were the trial re-enactments accurate? Not having been in the courtroom I can't state that the mannerisms of the actors was accurate, but having read the transcript I can tell you that what was said by the actors was indeed accurate. That the defence made themselves look stupid was not the fault of Nova. Did Judge Jones, also interviewed in the program, find that ID is not Science, and that the school board acted illegally? Read the judge's decision. He slammed these people, and rightly so. Nova's job in this was simply to give an accurate depiction of what occurred. Not easy in a two-hour program, but extremely well done. So, this hue and cry I've been talking about really amounts to sour grapes. Intelligent design was deemed to not be Science. To make these people happy would require that the producers of the program lie and say it was. Now THAT would be unfair and unbalanced

Why did Judge Jones, a conservative Christian judge, come to the conclusion that ID is not Science? It's pretty simple, really. Science is involved in explaining the way nature works. Evolution is Science because it explains the fossil record, how features common to different organisms, like why we have hands and why they are so similar to reptile feet, which are similar to amphibian feet, which are similar to lobe-finned fish fins, etc., etc. It explains anomolies, lilke why Antarctic ice fish have no red blood cells yet still have the gene encoding hemoglobin, or why our laryngeal nerve loops around the aorta before coming back up to our throats, why primates have a gene encoding the enzyme catalyzing the synthesis of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) which doesn't work, why the inactivated NANOGP8 pseudogene exists only in chimpanzees and humans with identically placed Alu retroelements in exactly the same spots, and so many other oddities that no sane 'intelligent agent' (okay, c'mon- you mean 'Jehovah' and everybody knows it, so who do you creationists think you're fooling?) would ever include in the designs.

Having answered that, why is intelligent design NOT Science? It has no evidential support. None. Aside from disingenuously knocking a straw man version of evolution, it has nothing in support of itself. Every time I ask for evidence in favor of design, the response usually begins with 'well, evolution can't explain...' At this point, it's 'talk to the hand'. Even if I grant that what follows is a valid problem unexplainable by evolutionary processes (and I have yet to see such), it is not evidence for design. Get it straight, folks. The false dichotomy is old, very boring and only demonstrates ignorance.

And what is the mechanism by which organisms were 'designed', anyway? Every time I asked that question on the PBS discussion boards I was met with the chirping of crickets. ID has no explanatory power whatsoever. If you can't explain the 'how' of design, you can't make testable predictions. If you can't make testable predictions, you have no theory. If you have no theory, only hand waving words like 'design', it ain't Science. And I've already given a number of examples of obviously bad design which is well explained by evolution and give 'cdesign proponentsists' headaches, or would if they bothered to look.

Evolution only has to be as good as to allow organisms to reproduce. The frogfish's lure looks more like a piece of used toilet paper, yet is still good enough to catch its next meal. (I love frogfish, by the way. They are as cool as they are ugly.) This makes sense, since evolution can only act on what's available- a kind of stopgap measure, if you will.

Is Science being unfair? Should ID be given equal time? Let's get one thing perfectly clear: To place ID on an equal footing with Natural Selection would grossly overstate the evidence for the former and ludicrously understate that for the latter. If we scientists spend all of our time listening to every crackpot idea that comes along that has no evidence in its support, makes no testable predictions, isn't falsifiable, etc., we'd never get anything done. Those ideas that don't make the grade are unceremoniously turfed, made to do the lawn limbo, relegated to pushing up daisies. We gave 'intelligent design' a good deal of consideration long ago and discarded it on its merits (actually, its lack thereof). It's like a Christmas present, all wrapped in shiny paper and ribbon. Open it up, however, and you find the box is empty. ID was an idea that was never alive - It was stillborn.

Secret Invasion: Inhumans (****1/2)

I must say that Pokaski has a very good feel for these characters. Crystal making a gigantic stone Black Bolt golem to fight the Skrulls? Fantastic. All the Inhumans are written well in a believable fashion, and you still get the different sense of how this royal family acts in comparison to a standard superhero team. Loyalty above all else is the name of the game. So it's not even a question that Gorgon would protect Maximus despite his hatred for the man. I should also mention that the Inhumans' methods for torturing a captive Skrull in attempts to discern the location of Black Bolt was a perfectly ingenius way to go about their business. We're continuing to learn of the overall plans of the Skrulls as relates to Mr. Boltagon, and it's not going to be pretty. This is a great series so far, and Joe Pokaski eally does seem to have a future in print media.

Nova #17 (****1/2)

Nova has returned home. Most of the events of this issue take place at the home base of Project PEGASUS, wherein Richard Rider, his brother Robbie and Darkhawk try to beat back the Skrulls from intercepting some seriously dangerous tech. The three characters engage in quite a lot of wisecracking (including a nice shot at the cliche of heroes attacking each other before realizing they're on the same side) and we've got the return (in a way) of the Xandarian Worldmind. But the best moment of the entire issues comes on the last page, where we have a big (from my perspective) return that makes perfect sense, considering that character originally met his end early on in the Nova book (hint, hint...It's Quasar!). Great reveal that was truly well executed and logical, and it sets up a lot of interest for the rest of the arc and potentially beyond, provided that he's going to stick around. I love this book. But you already knew that.

Guardians of the Galaxy #5 (***1/2)

Drax gets his Wolverine in the sewers of the Hellfire Club moment here, as he skulks around eviscerating Luminals for a good portion of the book. This issue has a bit of middle chapter syndrome going on; things happen and the story continues to move, but not a lot of it grabbed me. The Drax stuff was fun, but as I mentioned, we've seen it before. A lot. There is a big reveal involving Cosmo that was a nice moment, and I did enjoy the way Adam Warlock discovered the traitorous dog with a nice continuation of the work being done in the Marvel Universe with the Eternals and the Celestials. I am also looking forward to the litany of "I told you sos" and overall smugness of Rocket Raccoon over the next couple issues once he finds out about Cosmo. This was a good issue, but nothing special.

Black Panther #41 (*****)

Well, there was certainly an unholy amount of badass in this three issue run. There are so many great moments in this issue, from the reveal of what was actually going on with Black Panther and Storm to the final fate of the Skrulls. But like the rest of the issues, the real star of the book is Commander K'vv, the man that is running the Wakandan portion of the invasion. There is a running theme in the book of K'vvr struggling to figure out how to write a letter to his wife, and the final portion of the book is set to the narrative of the letter itself (this is, of course, going on after his bloody and violent end at the hands of the protagonists) with these stark pages of dead Skrulls and blood alongside the cheering Wakandans. The way Aaron wrote these issues is very sympathetic to the Skrulls, despite the fact that they are the invading force and should really be the villains of the piece. It's that little extra oomph that pushes this book over the top. The characterization of K'vvr is excellent, and the final letter is a very sobering series of panels. These are overall probably the best issues to come out of the Secret Invasion event. I probably liked the Hercules issues more, but they were not as accessible as what we have her. I recommend that everyone out there read these books. You will not be disappointed.

Thunderbolts #124 (*****)

I love what Christos Gage is doing with these characters. I should have started reading this book earlier. How long has it been this good? Every single person in this book and on this team is certifiably insane. And all of it is tempered by the strange sense of twisted honor that many of these characters feel. Many of them are legitimately trying to do good works, but have to deal with what simply boils down to mental illness, and at the same time, you've got characters like Bullseye and Venom right next to them that only care about killing and survival. The interactions between Norman Osborne and Moonstone are awesome. Songbird, Radioactive Man, the Swordsman duo, Penance, it's all great. I don't know if I have more fun reading any Marvel book other than Thunderbolts right now. Awesome stuff.

Honda Odyssey

This is a Honda Odyssey. These little guys were sold from 1977 until sometime in the 1980's It was a very popular product, but who today thinks about anything, except minivans when they hear the name "Honda Odyssey"? I really envied the people that drove these when I was a teenager. I lived in the Adirondack area, and folks would ride these on the frozen ice.

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="The Original Honda Odyssey"][/caption]

Honda Pilot

The original Honda Pilot was not an SUV. It was a miniature dune buggy, just like the Honda Odyssey. Bad Honda. No bisquit.

Microsoft Access

Microsoft Access isn't a very good name for a DBMS. When I mention that folks usually say, "But it helps you to 'access' data", but all programs help you to access data. Being able to use a computer, when you cannot even get to a physical console? Now, that would be a good product for the name Access to belong to, and it did. Microsoft Access was originally the name of a Terminal Emulator.

Mitsubishi Lancer, Mitsubishi Mirage

At one point Mitsubishi had a couple of cars. One was the Lancer, and the other was the Mirage. When they decided to import the Mirage to the United States they named it the Lancer, so when they decided to import the Lancer to the United States they named it the Mirage. Folks see these cool off-road Rally Lancers racing in Europe, so they want one like that! Mitsubishi gives the US car some body styling to look like the Rally cars, that's cool right? ...but the racing Lancers were called Mirages in the US, so the Lancer that you bought way-back-when with the cool wing wasn't really what those race cars were based off of at all. Those cars were actually based off of the Mirage that was sitting in your Mom's driveway. Why do companies reuse product names?

The New Avengers # 45 (****): The art plus explanations (can’t really say answers as I do not bel

The New Avengers # 45 (****): The art plus explanations (can’t really say answers as I do not believe anyone was even asking these questions) makes this a solid read. Yes, “wasting” a page on the Queen vomiting in the toilet may have turned off some people, but I loved it. Vulnerability is always cool. I mean, this panel did wonders for Tony Stark.

The Mighty Avengers #18 (***): More Secret Warriors!!! I feel like I’ve read this story already, yeah? And the whole V for Vendetta/Alias/Every spy fiction fake torture sequence EV-VAR! thing was more than a lot a bit unnecessary in my not so humble opinion. Unlike the clone Reed Richards torture scene, I don’t think the scene in this book fooled anybody. Truth.

Avengers: The Initiative #17 (**): WOO! Wait, what am I so excited about? This was awful. The Queen doing her best “twirling moustache” routine at the end had me gagging on my own tongue, and then there’s that tossed in Star Wars reference… to one of the BAD ones? BLAH.

Black Panther #41 (*****): EPIC. And final. I’m glad we ended our relationship on a high note, T’challa. I would’ve been truly sad if your last arc had been balls. Although, I do wish the payoff for this arc had been that Storm was a Skrull the whole time. That may have saved the book for me.

Deadpool #2 (****1/2): Even better than the first issue, even with the predictable ending. BOOYA! Good Deadpool writing is back, baby!

Guardians of the Galaxy #5 (****1/2): GARSH! When did this comic get so good? Out of all the anti-Skrull plans, I think I like Drax’s the best: ‘Kill ‘em all.’ Perfection. OH, NOES! Cosmo… a Skrull agent? Say it ain’t so, dawg!

Iron Man: Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. #33 (***): ‘War Machine: Weapon of S.H.I.E.L.D.’? ALL IN, DUDERS! I even like the Transformers ending. DING. This first story was mediocre, but I'm looking forward to this new direction.

Ms. Marvel #31 (****1/2): Technically no longer tying in with Secret Invasion, instead dealing with the post-SI aftermath, the “Dark Reign”, whatever that is. Man, where has Reed been hiding this story? It was so good! Character building moments! Good times! No fight scenes! So, questions: Why does Carol want to kill Norman Osborn? Could he be responsible for this “Dark Reign”? Is it related to what’s happening over in Thunderbolts right now?

Nova # 17 (*): UGH, this was the opposite of awesome. DnA are really letting me down on this title. To be frank, it sucks. It’s boring. I’m bored. Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S. is boring. Quasar is boring. Dick Ryder’s family life is boring. Darkhawk is boring. BORED FOREVER!!! The most interesting stuff in this issue deals with the Super Skrull fake betrayal, but that’s over by the first couple of pages and then the book quickly reverts back to its natural state: boringtowne.

She-Hulk #33 (****): What a difference the art makes. Same writer. Same shitty story. But somehow the fabulous art makes everything more interesting.

Secret Invasion: Inhumans #2 (****1/2): finally got my hands on this and I was not disappointed. Tom Raney rules.

Secret Invasion: The Amazing Spider-Man #2 (***): Better than the first issue? I don’t know. It was still UGH-inducing.

Secret Invasion: Thor #2 (**): UGH. This book is FAIL. Why even make this a mini? There were absolutely ZERO interesting plot turns before Thor shows up at the end. Just skip the two filler issues and make this a one-shot where Thor beats the shit out of a legion of Skrulls. DING.

Skrulls vs. Power Pack #3 (-): This books makes me cry.
