MICHAEL JORDAN "FAILURE" NIKE COMMERCIAL *******PERFECT!!!  I couldn't have done this particular blog on a day when I need it more than I do today.  It is 3:25 p.m. and I have been working on this blog since 9 a.m.  I think my computer has a virus because the pages either wouldn't load, or took what seemed like light years to load.  Then, I couldn't find a good video for the song of the day.  I'm only writing this because six and a half hours later, I am victorious!  It was strange--all of a sudden, when I was about to go to the store (ha ha...it's raining now...go figure!), everything started working and it all flowed together within 20 minutes!  See?  "Goonies never say die!" LOL  So many times, I wanted to just throw in the towel and chalk it up as a loss, but I just couldn't quit.  That's what made Michael Jordan a champ.  Watching this video made me want to scream, "YES!!!" at the top of my lungs, but we have thin walls in my building and I don't want to be known as the crazy lady across the hall. ;)  Michael Jordan is a true champ.  He's had bad stretches and true successes, yet he always remained the same--driven and humble.  Take note.*******

Scenario:
If The International Olympic Committee allows using any type of cyborg wears (power suit?) and cyber sports equipments (bikes, ski, ice-skate etc), what is going to happen in the games?

The Size of HAL becomes smaller like a Speedo’s LZR Racer swimsuit. It can be worn as a ultra- lightweight power suit uniform. Even if a person is not a cyborg, technology will creates a super athlete in the future.

I have had three workouts with this program (routine A and B). Today was the third time with routine B. In these three short workouts I've alreay increased my lat pull downs from resistance of 5 to resistance of 8. The resistance is somehow a portion of body weight combined with the weight of the machine. It goes up to 16 and at some point the resistance is 150% body weight or something. The guy wasn't sure because there was no manual because it was used equipment. I figure if I get to the top resistance and I'm doing great, I'll just put plates on the platform to add weight.

Also, great thing about today is with my three sets of twelve on the romanian and regular deadlifts I did not loose my grip on my bar!!! So that means I can go up 5 more lbs, maybe even ten. The last set of twelve was a little shakey, but I didn't have to stop early due to my horrible grip, so thankfully my grip IS getting better.

I worked out in my undies today. I soooo did NOT want to walk all the way down to my basement (imagine if I had to drive to a gym). So I didn't change because if I had to undergo changing as well, I don't think I'd have done it. But now, I'm glad I did because I had two huge (for me) improvements!

Lastly, who drives to the gym? Is this crazyness? I guess if a person doesnt have space for a home gym... but still. I lived in an 800 sq ft apartment and still had a home gym. My husband sliced open his toe on my weight bench because the little plastic thing that goes on the end fell off, but still, I managed. My set up was in our bedroom. We had a full size bed in there plus a power tower and my bench with squat rack. Olympic size at that. And my daughter took up about 100 sq ft for her bedroom so really, no excues for not having a home gym. PLUS it costs less overall than a membership. If you think of all those months and years you pay for, PLUS that lost time of driving back and forth... For me, I guess if I had to drive 15 plus minutes to get to the gym, over thirty minutes round trip, for a 45 min workout, I wouldn't bother.

They won their second Olympic gold in Beijing and plan to take some time out while they decide their futures off the water.

Today former Olympic Champion Carl Lewis participated at the Final Ceremony of the International World Harmony Run in Prague. I take the opportunity to publish this interview in which the athlete not only reveals the secrets of his sport career but also looks into the future and speaks about his relationship to meditation and peace. If you people didn't follow the news lately, Tickets for 2010 Winter Olympic (and paralympic) games in Vancouver go on sale as of today! However there is a certain catch that you people should know. There is 1.6 Million tickets up for grabs, but the requests are taken online through the Vancouver 2010 Olympics website. They will go on sale until November 7th, 2008.

Also there are more "catches" that you should people know. The tickets range from $25 to $1,000CDN not including service charges and taxes. Special packages will be available on hand. Despite the methods that the VANOC organizers are taken drastic action, there are many known fraudsters that can cheat the system. Many fraudsters even sell their tickets on eBay, a practice that VANOC officials that are looking out for. The ticketing information can be founded here.

By the time the site already opens, the traffic and requests was very high, the site almost crashed! There are many tickets up for grabs and the odds are very high. If my friends Bobby, Jenny, Tarin and Laura were to look at this particular blog posting and I made a mention that Paul and Dave (of the now defunct band Wave) were to get their hands of the tickets, they will say, "I don't care" (in homage to the song by Fall Out Boy).

Anyways, get 'em until they weep!

The government began taking 30 percent of its cars in the capital off the roads Wednesday in an attempt to make permanent some of the traffic restrictions imposed during the Olympic Games, officials and media reports said.

Beginning Oct. 11, Chinese motorists will also stop driving one workday a week, based on the final number on their license plates. The new rules should take 800,000 vehicles off the roads each day, according to reports quoting Wang Zhaorong of Beijing's Municipal Traffic Committee. There are 3.5 million cars in Beijing, and more than 1,000 vehicles are added each day, according to government statistics.

The attempt to manage traffic is one of the first concrete signs of possible lasting change as a result of the Olympics. The new restrictions come as the capital's traffic has once again surged and as smoggy skies have returned following the lifting of rules imposed from July 20 to Sept. 20 for the Olympics and the Paralympic Games. In an all-out effort to try to clear the air for millions of athletes and visitors, Beijing ordered more than a million cars off the roads, shut down polluting factories and halted heavy truck traffic.

Many in China seemed to approve, taking to the Internet to mostly praise the measures, which in the end produced bluer skies and generally smoother traffic flows. A survey of 5,058 people by the New Beijing News last month showed 68.9 percent supported the traffic controls based on odd- and even-numbered license plates, 19 percent objected to them and 12.1 percent had no opinion. Asked what they would do if the restrictions were to continue, 18 percent of interviewees said they would buy another car.

"Recently, it takes me nearly twice as long to commute than it did during the Olympics," said Zhang Fengyan, 30, an appliance salesman. "The difference is too big. I'd love it if they can make this rule permanent."

There were some problems during the Olympics: A special Olympic lane meant that cars had to crowd into two remaining lanes, and the slower traffic produced greater emissions, experts and officials said. The city's air pollution index initially climbed despite the restrictions.

The Beijing Environmental Protection Bureau declined to release details about pollution components, which would have allowed outside experts to monitor progress.

The claim comes amid continued delays over a comprehensive security plan being devised by the Home Office and the Metropolitan Police.

Extra measures to protect athletes and spectators from an attack include drafting in the Army. Military helicopters will patrol overhead and jets will be on stand-by to protect a no-fly zone over the Olympic stadium in Stratford.

The Ministry of Defence would charge the Olympic authorities for such a deployment. The security operation is expected to be the largest in peacetime Britain with the two-week event classed as a major terrorist target. However detailed planning for policing and security is in its early stages.

Games chiefs are juggling security with the desire to stage a more open and accessible Games than in Beijing where large parts of the city were off limits to citizens.

Concern over Games security were raised at an Olympic fringe meeting of the Conservative Party conference in Birmingham yesterday.

Shadow Olympics minister Hugh Robertson said: "One of the Government's pledges to the International Olympic Committee is that we make the Games safe.

"We have seen repeatedly at previous Games that the security budget is always the one that goes way beyond original estimates. That is why it is so concerning that there is still no costed and fully-scoped security plan and why security is the biggest single concern for the project at the moment."

Mr Robertson said he was concerned that the police might try to strong-arm the Home Office - the government department in charge of security - into paying for security improvements beyond the needs of the Games. Police demands for a new command and control centre to be built by 2012 to serve the Games are thought to have added to delays.

The total bill for the Games stands at £9.3 billion but that is based on security costs of £838 million. If the security bill reaches £1.5 billion as insiders suggest, it would send the budget beyond £10 billion despite pledges from Olympics minister Tessa Jowell and London Mayor Boris Johnson that the limit was £9.3 billion.

Olympics chiefs based their security planning and budget on the Sydney Olympics, but these had to be redrawn after the London bombings of 7 July 2005 - the day after the 2012 bid win.

Assistant commissioner Tarique Ghaffur was placed in charge of 2012 planning but he protested when Commissioner Sir Ian Blair wanted to strip him of his remit. Mr Ghaffur is suspended pending his case for racial discrimination.

An Olympic source said: "There have been massive delays and this has the potential to take the whole thing way over budget."

A Home Office spokesman said: "The Government and its partners in security are committed to the safety and security of the London 2012 Olympics, and a funding envelope of £600 million has been agreed.

"An integrated, costed security plan is being produced, for ministerial agreement by the end of the year.

"This will cover strategic options for a range of security measures, including fraud and financial crime prevention and protection, counter-terrorism, identity assurance and personal protection."

"The privatisation of debt-laden Olympic Airlines was approved by parliament in Athens in a narrow vote on October 2 2008, giving the green light to a scheme which has European Union approval but which brought airline employees and unionists out in protest.

In September, the EU approved the sale scheme for the airline, which has debts of about two billion euro, but made approval conditional on the airline paying back state subsidies adding up to about 850 million euro.

Embattled prime minister Kostas Karamanlis has defended the move, while according to Greek media reports, transport minister Costis Hadzidakis gave an assurance that the air carrier's name, emblem, employees, remote routes (mostly to the Greek islands), as well as its growth prospects perspectives had been secured.

Joined by the protesting Olympic Airlines employees were representatives of the Greek Railway Organisation OSE which is also to be subject to restructuring. The General Confederation of Workers of Greece has declared a public utility strike in protest against the airline and railway moves.

Olympic Airlines began operating in its current form on December 12 2003, following the integration of all Olympic Airways and Olympic Aviation flight operations by Macedonian Airlines, which was renamed to Olympic Airlines, and until then only performed charter flights, according to the company’s website. It serves 78 destinations and has a fleet of 41. This year, a shortfall in aircraft has led Olympic to cancel some flights.

On September 16 2008, the Greek government announced a major restructuring, which will see the launch of a new private airline named Pantheon Airways, scheduled to start operations this month.

Pantheon will operate parallel to Olympic Airlines until, in April 2009, Olympic Airlines will be shut down and Pantheon will take over some of its routes. Pantheon will then be renamed with "Olympic" being in the name, while Olympic's rings will also be used. The new Olympic will be freed of the old Olympic's debts. The number of jobs at the airline is supposed to shrink from 8000 to 1000 workers."
