when i read her cover letter, i thought "deja vu!". even worse, i thought i had accidentally misplaced another applicant's cover letter over hers.

i'm going to SG via JB today. will be backpacking for the first time! i just realised that today's SG's National Day :( there's gonna be A LOT of ppl in the city wearing red tops & khaki pants. better make sure to wear something else.

tomorrow, i will attend Denis' wedding reception. i feel like wearing jeans.. i just hope nobody will notice.

i'll be meeting one of my many friends in SG too, and she agreed to go out with one condition - don't stay out so late.

i don't know why it's called hungry ghost month. but it's interesting to know though. i watched "The Maid" last monday on tv. not too scary but story had a few suspense moments. probably because of the background music too. i thought the actress was too pretty for a maid.

I have been constantly shooting subjects for my "In Their World" series, searching for those images that are in line with my feelings on how I choose to see their world, and maybe opening up the thought process for the viewer of those images in terms of thinking for themselves about how those smallest of creatures view their own world.
But I have discovered that it is hard for me to write about how I look at their world, how I see and observe their world, what roots I have established in the past and the hopeful outcome of future growth coming from those roots.
It is hard for me to explain it, ... it truly is!
Maybe I have arrived to a point to where the images I create in this series will "say it all for me".
I have asked myself many times already, "Can this series of images tell a story on its own?"
Am I thinking way to much? : )

I spent 4 days on the coast with total focus on creating images for this particular series.
There were many of those "Zen" moments while shooting.
There was total happiness with what I was doing, and everything seemed to come easy for me.
Even the dragonflies, lizards, crabs, butterflies, ... all seemed to be at ease.
The waters within the marsh seemed to caress everything in the area, and it almost seemed that everywhere I looked, the waters were coming to me.
It was like a family gathering, and I was not overlooking anything.
Everything, even with my way of thinking, seemed so simple.

Then, ... I remembered this Japanese proverb.

"The reverse side also has a reverse side"

With this image, I will not explain anything.
One who has even the most limited of knowledge in photography should easily be able to figure out this basic technique.
It is a straight shot, and on a beautiful morning.
Composition is most important of all, and although not everyone's cup of tea, ... it suited my tastes.
Hopefully, it will say something.

Sometimes all we hear is about how clear an image needs to be.  Photographers can become obsessed with noise reduction and eliminating blur.  Perfect lighting can be all one cares about.  I know.  I have done it plenty.  However, taking a break from posting in this blog made me realize that my photography is mine.  I need to worry about impressions or living up to standards.  So what if it never wins a contest.  I find this picture beautiful. That is all that matters.

Deze foto is genomen in de tuin van Kasteel Middachten. Het was een uitdaging om, met dat felle zonlicht toch in alle partijen een doortekening te kunnen zien.  In dit geval was Adobe Lightroom een perfecte hulp.

Monument Valley is not really a valley, but an upwarp of sedimentary rock that is at least 260 million years old, surrounded by sentinels that have yet to fully erode. The floor itself is more than a mile high, part of the 130,000 square-mile Colorado Plateau. Sandstone is easily eroded, and the wind, rain, cycles of frost and heat have been at work, cracking and chiseling the valley to its present form.

I have always found something special about barns. As a kid my grandmother used to stop at every wide spot in the road (and some not so wide) to take a picture of a falling down barn. This one is in great shape though. It's the Felida Red Barn, one of the spots that make Vancouver and Clark County so great.

And guess what! I've been doing well for quizzes! For the docpro quiz yesterday, I just saw my results... Freaking 9.5/10! :D I'm so satisfied and happy! And for Medlaw (this one a bit outdated) I got like 14/15 for one of the tests! I can't believe it! That's the same as Dorcas, please! Okay. I should study hard for my exams! (Next week luh!)

I wanna party tomorrow, but no one seems to wanna go party. :/ Imma sad!
