Category: News and Politics
The views in the follwowing blog are not necessarily my views, I do respect this person for always offering information and supporting his ideas with his sources of information so that those of us can further our search with more knowledge.

Angry I-=-I

http://www.myspace.com/kavalierish

Headline Reads:

"Global economic crisis no time to bring in [another] minority government."

READ THIS REGARDLESS OF WHAT PART YOU CLAIM TO SUPPORT.
THIS IS A BIG FRIKKIN DEAL AND IS THE TRUTH.

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/LAC.20080929.RAGENDAMORGAN29/TPStory/Business

"America's global fall from grace"

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20080930.wcogray01/BNStory/specialComment/home

AND NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS!

"The financial crisis for dummies: Why Canada is immune from a U.S.-style mortgage meltdown"

http://network.nationalpost.com/np/blogs/fullcomment/archive/2008/10/02/the-financial-crisis-for-dummies-why-canada-is-completely-immune-from-the-u-s-mortgage-meltdown-kind-of.aspx

"Canada is not the U.S."

http://www.reportonbusiness.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20081002.wdrohan1003/BNStory/robColumnsBlogs/home?cid=al_gam_mostview

Even with that all said, theres comments nagging on about it... morons...

I've frikkin predicted ALL of this and people are STILL talking shit about things they don't even know and I"m getting fed-up this doom and gloom leftist propaganda.

When presented with all the facts they still spew out their BS.

THE SKY IS NOT FALLING.

The article's above concluded the same thoughts as I have been suspecting.

I was not SPOON-FED this information, or had someone tell me it.
These issues aren't that complicated to figure out let alone predict.
So enough with the mindless panicking, these things are fixable and people are already on top of it.

Sorry I'm so damn angry but its frustrating.

I get pissed when people try to bullshit over things they know nothing about. or tote the whole party line while ignoring all the facts.

I can't help but get worked up over such a serious issue. Then people try to turn the tables on me and bitch about cuts to art programs--its like: FUCK THE HELL OFF!

Bah... I don't like cussing through typing as it loses its charismatic effects...
I better not get anyone complaining about my "offensive" language or tone.... anyone who bitches to me about petty little things like that on this forum after all the information I just provided is best off throwing themselves of a bridge because no one wants to hear it.

And these are big enough issues to excuse my current temperament.

www.myspace.com/impactcanada

Also from I-=-I in another forum

http://www.myspace.com/kavalierish

Press ctrl+f (or select 'find' from your browsers edit menu) and type in the question number to find the answer.

(I'm counting on this forum to have an edit button so I can continually add more links and references without having to place them in a separate post)

Think long and hard before posting a reply, as I won't waste time responding to loud crazy people. If you have nothing to constructively add to the conversation you will be ignored.
I have no time for BS.

Questions:

Q01. Q: Didn't harper break his own election law by back tracking on the rule of a fixed election date?

Q02. Q: What about "NAFTA GATE"?

Q03. Q: What about the $5 billion or so deficit that the Progressive Conservatives left behind for the Mcguinty Liberals in Ontario?

Q04. Q: What about the Conservatives and their "hidden agenda"?

Q05. Q: What about the environment?

Q06. Q: What is the purpose of this FAQ?

Q07. Q: More to come?

Q08. Q: Can I add you to my 'friends list'?

Q09. Q: What about the cuts to "arts" funding?

---
Q01. Q: Didn't harper break his own election law by back tracking on the rule of a fixed election date?

A01. A: NO. Read Paul Wells interview with the PM.

here

http://www.macleans.ca/canada/national/article.jsp?content=20080910_26101_26101

and

http://www.democraticreform.gc.ca/eng/media.asp?media_category_id=1&id=1392

"«The government's bill provides that the date for the next general election is Monday, October 19, 2009.
Of course, this will be the date only if the government is able to retain the confidence of the House until that time. ....

Mr. Speaker, some Opposition members had concerns that this bill is illusory in that the Prime Minister can call an election at any point up until the fixed date for the election.
However, Mr. Speaker, the Prime Minister has to retain his prerogative to advise dissolution to allow for situations ***when the government loses the confidence of the House.***»

If the government holds a majority, can it be said that the government has lost the confidence of the House? Highly unlikely.
When is the government in peril of losing the confidence of the House? When it's in a minority situation.
If the PM thinks he and his party no longer enjoy the confidence of the House, he can then advise the GG to dissolve Parliament."

~Gabby from QC (taken from a comment posted on this blog: http://www.stephentaylor.ca/2008/08/how-might-this-government-fall/)
Q02. Q: What about "NAFTA GATE"?

A02. A: http://andrewcoyne.com/2008/05/careless-whispers.php

Q03. Q: What about the $5 billion or so deficit that the Progressive Conservatives left behind for the Mcguinty Liberals in Ontario?

A03. A: OVERVIEW of Ontario's 2003 Budget:

http://www.fin.gov.on.ca/english/budget/ontariobudgets/2003/statement.html

2003 Ontario budget papers In depth:

http://www.fin.gov.on.ca/english/budget/ontariobudgets/2003/pdf/papers_all.pdf

Comparison from when the Harris government took office.

http://www.fin.gov.on.ca/english/budget/ontariobudgets/1996/

Now the liberals go on and on about a supposed "structural deficit" and say the word "deficit" 83 times in their budget papers found here:

http://www.fin.gov.on.ca/english/budget/ontariobudgets/2004/pdf/papers_all.pdf

and then use the same word 100 times in their 2005 budget papers.
found here:

http://www.fin.gov.on.ca/english/budget/ontariobudgets/2005/pdf/papers_all.pdf

and another 100 times here:

http://www.fin.gov.on.ca/english/budget/ontariobudgets/2006/pdf/papers_all.pdf

.... now compare that to the 29 times the Progressive Conservatives had said it here:

http://www.fin.gov.on.ca/english/budget/ontariobudgets/1996/c-fisc-e.pdf

After inheriting and a far worse situation than what the liberals were supposedly left with.

http://www.fin.gov.on.ca/english/budget/ontariobudgets/1996/c-tbls.html

So.... doesn't this remind you of that whole phrase that if you say something enough times that people will eventually begin to accept it as "truth"?...... yeah.... the Liberals have successfully propagandized their ideological/pathological thinking/lies into common belief amongst the voting populace... and people try to call the conservatives up here "republicans"? What total BS...

I've made back up copies of ALL the various Ontario budgets(1996-2008) onto a flash drive.

"Deficit" Another 66 time... How many years later? Talk about a grudge...

"The government has restored the Province's fiscal health, eliminating the $5.5 billion deficit it inherited."

taken from here:

http://www.fin.gov.on.ca/english/budget/ontariobudgets/2008/pdf/papers_all.pdf

Q04. Q: What about the Conservatives and their "hidden agenda"?

A04. A: First off, I have seen the Zeitgeist movie several times and in no way does that relate to the Conservative party up here. That movie is NOT the be all and end all to everything and even they would acknowledge my points after a hefty review of all the facts.

That being said...

There is no Conservative "hidden agenda". It's the so called "Liberals" who have been infiltrated by the corporate self interests that similarly plague america, only using slightly different tactics and approach in the well established "Liberal" guise to make themselves the "answer against the Right" up here, when in reality they are nearly one in the same in their tactics to mislead the masses to serve their own plans for a one world corporately run government.

I may sound like a "conspiracy" blubberer but there are far more on the far left in this county who have been tricked by the "Liberals" into thinking it is the Conservatives and Harper in particular who has a "hidden agenda" but its all a facade which should of been obvious to everyone giving their approach to everything.

If Dion was elected he'd be so easily coaxed into handing up big chunks of our sovereignty to the wrong kinds of people and not be able to negotiate his way out of those situations as well as Harper or Obama clearly can.

You have to be a uniter and know when and how to compromise in ways that benefit all parties and people.

The Federal Liberals have clearly shown time and time again that they are incapable of that, and have lost any concept of being able to come to a balanced agreement on virtually anything.

You have to be able to work toward a goal of raising everyones quality of life, not just that of the special interest or even the voters who got you in.

In both Harper and Obama you have a more moderate perspective of how to go about things of this sort.

People should realize that anything can be accomplished and get done faster if we all learn to work together for a common good. This isn't a day dream. People do this all the time, only the MSM outlets (up here and down there) like to overly focus on all the things that have shock or entertainment value without reflecting enough on substance or context.

"hidden agendas" aren't limited to only one party but all. They like to work both sides to create division so they can later sweep in and conquer through the chaos. The key is, to remember that these corporate and special interest 'plants' or supporters are still human and can be convinced to work for all interests and not just their own or that of their "shadowy" backers.

You can also de-brainwash people out of their stubborn ideologies no matter WHAT it is they have come to believe. Nothing is impossible, the fact that civilizations have come so far should be a testament to that.
We will also progress a lot further and faster so long as those so called "shadowy interests" learn to stay the hell out of the way and not try to assert their control over the world.

There is no reason for their to be a singular world power since that would just begin to quell both the worlds diversity and its greatest ideas. It wouldn't be impossible to suggest an eventual balance from a 'utopia consisting of multiple utopias' style of rule that supports multiple/sustainable/sensible perspectives, that differ enough from one another that they offer the right balance of freedom of choice and the ability to continually expand both ideas and styles of living into more.

I don't suspect such a thing to ever take place in the near future but its a prospect that we could all eventually consider as Civilization progresses. This makes more sense then taking the anti-globalization approach... since globalization doesn't have to be a bad thing so long as the right people are 'behind the wheel' so to speak.

If people would just learn to relax and reflect more on issues while continually taking all the available facts they can achieve a more moderate stance on such things and improve their out look in life and eventually that of those around them. No one source has all the answers to everything so broaden your knowledge and try to remain as moderate and as balanced as possible so as to not too strongly favor one side or another, or get stuck on the fence with no clear understanding of what to do.

Don't let overly simplified categorizations or cliches or the like determine who you are or your stance.

Follow a more moderate and holistic view of everything and your potential to make the right choices will naturally begin to expand. We're all humans and designed to adapt... it would be a good idea if people would start making use of that line of thought rather then remain stuck in their own way and potentially risk succumbing to an entrenched dooms-day/bunker mentality. Plenty of groups are waiting to take advantage of that.

so in other words... smarten up, please.

PART II

Compare that to comments like these

"I am sorry, I would never look for a Conservative majority. Mr. Harper would change Canada to some sort of dicatorship. He is a nasty, vulger, controlling person who we cannot trust."

http://nikonthenumbers.com/topics/show/85/11264comment_11318

"if you knew what principle was then maybe you would understand why Harper has none at all. He is simply dedicated to being in charge and being the Hitler clone he feels he needs to be."

http://nikonthenumbers.com/topics/show/85/11225comment_11391

Though there are always gonna be some who are ignorant and immature coming from all sides, I suspect some of these guys are being paid or put up to doing this.

Check out those conversations at that site and you'll have a clear understanding of what I mean.

Radical to the death style of "Liberal" support hounds. Void of any rational or sensibility even long after they've been thoroughly proven wrong. From that point they start resorting to personal insults.

Similar of what you can also see coming from the extreme Right and extreme Left down south.

It's all just to create more division. Some of which is simply by the misguided but there is a growing consensus that some of it is also on purpose or being sponsored. so... yeah... Conservative "hidden agenda"? I think not.

The "shadowy" vested and special interests people go on about are gonna play all sides.
The key is to not let them influence how or what you think and people to begin to rely more on the solid facts rather then opinions from even their friends or family.

But regardless I still know for a FACT that the conservatives are still the most resistant party to such "shadowy" groups even when it comes to the copyright legislation. The Conservatives are genuinely interested in contributing to the betterment of both the country and the world. And the more they know the truth and become even more informed on how to go about dealing with tough situations the stronger the protection they will have against the corrupt lobbyist and other misguided individuals.

(for my original rough/non-proofread/edited/cleaned up post(s) click here: http://www.stephentaylor.ca/2008/09/abandon-shift/ )

Q05. Q: What about the environment?

A05. A: Check the non-partisan government link below for plenty of information in regards to what concrete action Canada is making to deal with climate change, pollution, renewable energy etc.

http://www.cleanenergy.gc.ca/canada/index_e.asp

After a good browse through, you'll eventually discover that there is already more being done on the issue without the need of imposing an unneeded tax regardless of whether its "revenue neutral".

There is always more to be done on the matter but to go to extremes without thinking of the consequences it would have on our industries and economy would only add to the worlds problems and our own.

Governments aren't supposed to be the sole answer to every issue we might have on our minds and theres no singular silver bullet policy that can sweep in and save the day as the current Liberal opposition would lead the ignorant to believe. Governments do play a role but have so many more issues to have to deal with that it is also up to us both the individual and entrepreneur to help ease some of the burden.

For example,

Cleaner fuels: Garbage into ethanol from a quebec company

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/montreal/story/2008/05/22/mtl-ethanol.html

video:

More Information and contact info here:

http://www.cleanenergy.gc.ca/canada/company_e.asp?item=1912&sc=179

Initiatives like this one could quell two major problems without the exclusive need for a federal Liberal plan to over spend tax payer dollars on ineffective projects just to sway a few votes come an election.

Already there has been some brilliant strides in innovation without too much need for any government intervention beyond what is needed.

To see some more of what the federal government is doing to aid industry and the environment, check the following link below.

http://ecoaction.gc.ca/index-eng.cfm

So enough finger pointing at our federal government, its time people take a look and investigate what's going on for themselves.

So enough rhetoric on the environment, there are bigger problems at stake for us to put all of our eggs into one overflowing basket and assume the rest of our issues will go away. A one-trick-pony of a "Liberal" plan would do just that while at the same time impair parts of our industry and add no real improvement to our environment or Co2 reduction.

Look into things for yourselves on other issues too and you'll come to see that things generally are heading in the right direction. If we all choose to remain ignorant of everything things like this may not begin to progress at the speed that they need to and with some issues may not get dealt with at all.

Stay informed and be sure your politicians are aware of things too without barking down their necks since that'll just get you ignored and put them on the defensive needlessly.

Q06. Q: What is the purpose of this FAQ?

A06. A: To help create of clearer picture of how things really are and encourage people to work towards dealing with actual issues rather then continually resorting to more partisan rhetoric that only divides us all further.

No matter what "side" you think you are on, we should all be working towards the betterment of each others well being and progress. Rather then pointing figures, work to come up with better ideas and solutions to the worlds problems. I'm no happy go lucky peace-nik. I just want everyone to smarten up and realize that people are working very hard to keep shit together.
Stop trying to cloud up what is going on with your needless partisan BS and leave it up to the experts who know what they're talking about. LEARN TO RESPECTFULLY/CONSTRUCTIVELY AGREE TO DISAGREE.

and... WATCH MORE CPAC! (Canadian/Cable Public Affairs Channel) cpac.ca

Q07. Q: More to come?

A07. A: Maybe, but hopefully you'll have enough sense (by now) to realize the Conservatives are not the big evil party thats out to get everyone as suggested by many on the extreme Left. Otherwise, Lay off the LSD... I'm not here to answer YOUR questions. Do your own research.

Q08. Q: Can I add you to my 'friends list'?

A08. A: NO. I don't know who you are and I don't have the time or will to care. I'm very OCD over the optics of my "friends list" and thats reason enough for me to say no.

Q08. Q: What about the cuts to "arts" funding?

A09. A: Ohhhh yes, how "cruel" of them indeed....

Avoiding the Autoclose and Autoshrink Options

Q
In the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Resource Kit, I read about a procedure that checks all databases

Q
In the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Resource Kit, I read about a procedure that checks all databases for options that you should avoid using. I understand why I should avoid using options such as offline, DBO-use only, statistics off, truncate log on checkpoint, and so on. However, the inclusion of two of the options—autoclose and autoshrink—puzzles me.

Autoclose. Closing a file when it is not in use sounds like a prudent thing to do. Yet I see files opening and closing all the time in the error log in SQL Server, even though I know that I never use the database except for viewing in Enterprise Manager. Does viewing a list of databases in Enterprise Manager make the files open? It makes sense to me to use autoclose on databases that I use only occasionally as import staging areas, and which I access for only a fraction of the time my online transaction processing (OLTP) database is in use. SQL Server Books Online says that the autoclose option is automatically set to YES for the SQL Server Personal Edition and to NO for all other editions. Has this option been included only for the Personal Edition?

Autoshrink. The autoshrink option also sounds helpful. However, would using autoshrink on my import staging areas, where I bring in quantities of data for short periods of time, keep these areas small for backups?

A
Autoclose is available in all editions of SQL Server 2000. The amount of memory you save by using this option is relatively small but might be important on memory-constrained systems running the Personal Edition. However, enabling autoclose for the other editions isn't a good idea, because every time you try to access the database, the query will be slowed by the amount of load time it takes to mount the database. As for the question about your files opening and closing, yes, when you enumerate a database in Enterprise Manager, you access the database, which opens the files.

Leaving autoshrink on for production systems also isn't a good practice (unless you really need to), because autoshrink might start when your system is otherwise busy with production work, and slow down the system. However, enabling this option is a good idea for desktop or remote systems that don't get a lot of DBA attention and whose databases could grow out of control before you detect the problem.

So, I am posting the link as is. You can browse through them for lyrics that I don't have yet in the Songlist. Also, at the bottom of Lyrics and Songs' Mr Children page there is a link for songs with Japanese titles, so you should click that too.

Google have just released a new service - Google Insights to help small businesses conduct there market research based on the trends on keywords so you can see what is hot and what is not - more details in this New York Times article.

Wiki have also entered the market research area with ResearchWikis.com . Since this is developed by users it's going to take time to be definitive but it could become a tremendous resource. While competitors may wish to keep details quiet, industry watchers will want to share information widely.

I have potential beyond my demonstrated ability…this is no secret. For many years, my top-no

I have potential beyond my demonstrated ability...this is no secret. For many years, my top-notch report cards (often straight A's) were accompanied by the following statement:

"Student does not perform to her full potential."

That I was getting this comment written about me in junior high and high school is not surprising...that I got it as early as 1st grade is. And while I have long considered this comment a testament to my "genius", I failed to note it as a statement of failure or underperformance. My behavior did not reflect who I am and I know it!

I can trace my underperformance habit to my upbringing -- raised within a hillbilly family who's favorite phrase was "don't you get above your raising!" In a family such as this, one learns that it's not only bad, but dangerous to perform to a fraction of your potential much less the full level! It was this philosophy, in conjunction with emotional abuse that directed my diminished performance in the classroom. An easily predicted outcome I think given the environment.

I must be noted however that it has been more than 27 years since I graduated high school, and yet I still catch myself engaging in this same manner...I admit I staggered through the college experience; failing of course, to garner the academic degree. For years I've chided myself that 'I just couldn't settle down to a major, that I was more interested in learning than achieving, and that the degree is over rated'. While technically true on all accounts (I continue to be bored if not actively engaged in a new subject) I have to acknowledge the role of my underperformance as well.

I know intellectually that where I am (in terms of life, career, and relationships) is quite simply the sum of my choices, and yet I am living a life (or more correctly 'existing a life') that I don't care for. I am not regularly engaging in activities that I love, don't take risks in my relationships, and have FAR too many unrealized dreams (excluding those that could more accurately be labeled 'fantasies'!) It's not comfortable being in this place, and yet I've done little to move out of it...So why am I not living with integrity? Why do I settle for less? To some degree, a heavy dose of fear, but largely, simply a habit of underperformance and diminished expectations (think about it, if you don't expect much, it's harder to be disappointed.) I've settled for less than my dream...how sad.

The logical response to this info is of course "how do I alter this?" Undoubtedly it will take awareness, hard work (including that #$%@ dirty word: discipline), and clearly, a dose of courage to change. As I often do, I consulted the book stacks and came across Find Your Courage! by Margie Warrell. The subtitle of this book "Unleash Your Full Potential & Live the Life You Really Want" addresses my ultimate goal. Like many self-help books about Change, it addresses the various issues of change-resistance, lack of self-confidence/trust, as well as the role of dreams in our life. As someone who has leapt into a "dream" many times, I found the most engaging idea in this volume to be that "your dream is not about a destination you are supposed to arrive at but rather a direction you will begin to travel" giving credence to my belief that life is the journey...

Will I integrate this perspective into my daily living? I certainly hope so, because what I've been doing for years isn't "working" in terms of living with integrity, as myself, comfortable in my skin. And while it's easier said than done, it's time to take a cue from Kate Winslett's character in the film Holiday and accept that "surely you should be the leading lady in your own life!"

A few weeks ago I ran across I site that focuses on being a good dad and husband, as such it's Husbands & Dads.com. Now, let's be clear I'm not a dad or a husband, but I do hope to be both one day and the site has some very interesting posts even for me!

I've read posts on kids, on health and on marriage, but they've even got movie reviews and technology posts. They've really brought together some great content!

Some of the most popular posts right now are: 8 Unique Ways to Help Your Wife Relax, Tips for Dads - How to Soothe a Crying Baby, and Top 10 Most Underrated TV Dads. They've also got a newly launched forum where you can dialog on all types of topics appropriate to being a dad.

So go check them out, and let me know what you think.

I found the coding from below link.
here is the link:

This trick is not secure as users will still be able to copy and paste in the word document and still be able to print it.
However, it might be useful for some users who don’t think about to copy and paste.
