For everyone wondering when Pro Tools will finally come out, it will be in the fall. Here's GZA's direct quote: "This album is long over due, but it will be well worth the wait.”

Also the GZA/Killah Priest project is still expected to happen but won't be out til late '08/early '09. There is also a rumor going around that like Raekwon, GZA will be making sequel to Liquid Swords and it will be produced entirely by RZA. Here's what he said:

"Yeah, I'm doing a project with Babygrande. I saw an ad out there where it’s promoted as a GZA album. I'll probably be on most of the tracks but its supposed to be a compilation album, there’s various artists on the album. That’s almost finished and then I’ll start working on another GZA album with RZA."

Props to Rap Basement for the look.

Only Built For Cuban Links was CLASSIC! In my opinion, that album had the doppest beats of any Wu album to this day. This new track is more of a preview of what the album will sound like, not necessarily the first single. Either way, this is the kind of "punch you in your face" music that I think Rae had in mind when he was complaining about the 8 Diagram album. It's good Wu music! This is what I want to hear from the Wu personally.

Rae says he has more heat to come, including tracks from Dr. Dre, Pete Rock, Rza, and J-Dilla. Wowwwwwww!

I've been a fan of SOB ever since I got my hands on the re-release of 2000 Fold almost 10 years ago so I'm excited to see a new project from them coming. Reppin the San Fernando Valley, the team of 2 incredibly talented emcees (Ryu & Tak), a producer (Vin Skully) and DJ Cheapshot have been doing their thing for a long time. From their collaborations with the Demigodz crew (Apathy, Celph Titled, etc) to their shine on Mike Shinoda's Fort Minor project. Their new album, Reseda Beach, will feature production from RZA, Mike Shinoda, Dilla Rick Rock and more. With guest spots from Apathy, Celph Titled, Shinoda, RZA, etc. This right here is the RZA assisted joint. See ya'll next post!

Ghostface’s catalogue is always at war with itself, mostly because half of his fans think

Ghostface's catalogue is always at war with itself, mostly because half of his fans think "Ironman" was his best CD and some think it was "Supreme Clientele." But is "Clientele" really the best? Is "Bulletproof Wallets" really the worst? Let's look at this.

Here's my list of the Ghostface CD's I own (own, not just heard) in order from worst to best with explanations of the placing (note that I will be including Raekwon's "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx..." since Ghost was on almost all of the songs anyway).

10. The Big Doe Rehab (2007)

Explanation: I don't care what the critics (mostly) said about this CD - the only songs really worth listening to are "Yolanda's House" and "Supa GFK." More than just not having good songs on it, this is chock full of bullshit songs, like "The Prayer," "Yapp City," and "Paisley Darts."

9. Ironman (1996)

Explanation: This is generally considered Ghost's best or second best CD, but there are just way too many guests and Ghost barely holds his own. One of his few solo tracks, "Wildflower" just straight sucks. The beats mostly bang, but the rapping leaves a lot to be desired.

8. Live In New York (2006)

Explanation: This is a mediocre live CD, but it's not awful. I place it low on this list mostly because there isn't really any original material on it and the Clan yells too much in the background.

7. Hidden Darts: Special Edition (2007)

Explanation: This is a so-so compilation of the best songs released by Ghost in the mixtape circuit. It has some interesting songs, as well as some classics like "The Sun," but a lot of the bootleg tracks are just qualified to be bootleg tracks.

6. Bulletproof Wallets (2001)

Explanation: This really is a good album, it just has a little too much filler in it. It's definitely worth picking up, even if just for "Strawberry."

5. The Pretty Toney Album (2004)

Explanation: It may be deep, moody, and harder than a motherfucker, but this album would be greatly improved if about 6 songs had been left out. A lot of the vocal samples Ghost flips on here are too pitchy and squeaky. They hurt the ears. You definetely need to download "Kunta Fly Shit" and "Run."

4. More Fish (2006)

Explanation: If you overlook about 3 weed carrier tracks, you'll see that this "Fishscale" sequel is bursting at the seams with great music. Highlights include "Block Rock," "Outta Town Shit," and "Greedy Bitches."

3. Supreme Clientele (2000)

Explanation: Even without all of the annoying, lengthy skits, this album still comes up a little short. It's good the first time through, but a few songs get grating the second or third time you hear them

2. Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... (1995)

Explanation: Again with the skits! This album is incredibly dense and cinematic, perfectly complementing Ghost and Rae's mafia raps. There aren't any bad songs on this, and this is also easily the second best Wu album, solo or group.

1. Fishscale (2006)

Explanation: This is one of those rare albums that you can play beginning to end over and over again without ever getting bored. The skits are tight and meaningful and the songs bang like glocks. Ghost is in rare form here. He's gone downhill on his 2 albums since, so we may never get another classic outing like this from him. Enjoy it while you can.

"This world wasn't in a digital format in 1998. Now digital is the most compelling force of commerce and entertainment," RZA explains. "So this is like a re-launch of the character." And some of the 'real life' characters that Bobby Digital tapped for Digi Snacks definitely lend to the mission: John Frusciante, Dhani Harrison, The Black Knights, Dexter Wiggles, Shavo Odadjian (System of a Down), Reverend William Burke, Stone Mecca and Scandinavian newcomer Thea. There's even a track produced by David Banner. He continues, "I think Digi Snacks is an album with a lot of fun. This album is more of a performance album too. When you see it live, you'll get a difference experience. I'm not trying to get into the world...I'm trying to bring the world to come to us.”

To celebrate the release of Digi Snacks, RZA will embark on a National U.S. tour with the future-soul group, Stone Mecca, as his backing band.

RZA has produced a number of albums for the Wu Tang Clan, its affiliates, and other A-list artists that have led to sales in the millions. He has a successful movie career and as appeared in films with Bill Murray (Coffee & Cigarettes), Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe (American Gangster), Angela Bassett (Gospel Hill), Jude Law & Forest Whitaker (Repossession Mambo), and Clive Owens (Derailed). RZA’s also created soundtracks for Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2, Afro Samurai and the cult-classic Ghostdog: The Way Of The Samurai. He’s revolutionized the hip-hop world while simultaneously creating an empire upon it. And yet RZA says, "I've only just begun to enter my prime."

Described by his colleagues, admirers, and even haters alike as a "mad scientist," Robert Diggs, aka RZA, comes across more like a relentless warrior. And like any good warrior, he's on a mission...an honorable quest to infect all he comes across with a positive polarity. "You taste everything every day. You go through these different shifts of positives and negatives throughout your whole day," he explains. "I just make more of a fiction thing around it, metaphors in all different ways. That's all I'm doing. You get the Manga, you get the Martial Arts, you get the Sci-Fi, you get the Blaxploitation, but you still get your real life because I'm a real person.”

Engulfed in a full-on story of revenge, betrayal, seduction, hustlin' and pimpin' slaves as souls, completed with a cast of characters that includes the return of The Raven, The Hawk, The Eagle, The Vulture, The four fouls of prey and, of course, Barbara Peppers, Bobby Digital explains, "If you follow the character, he's always talking with himself between good and evil, trying to balance himself. Sometimes when you think you're all the way at the end, you're actually at the beginning."

The Bobby Digital tour dates featuring Stone Mecca are:

My boss had a hotdog with Bill Murray a few weeks ago. He didn't get into specifics; all he said was "He's a really funny man." No shit? One might think of Groundhog Day or Ghostbusters, but the first thing that came to my mind was this clip and its all-star lineup. Oh, and I have an old man crush on Murray. I'm a total creep.

I used to really love chess. As a matter of fact I used to be great at it. I've only lost to my father as he taught me to play, and even he couldn't keep up with me when I really got good at it.

Then it became one of those many things that I just got bored with. It's not fun when you always win. After that it's just me feeding my gluttonous ego. And, I never really cared enough to seek out better opponents. In NC we didn't have parks full of old men and hooded-out Bobby Fischers thinkin they can whoop my ass. So I just stopped playing. Went YEARS without playing and now... I can't seem to beat the damned computer on my MacBook (and I refuse to set it to easy). It's like that time I forgot how to **** * *****.

WT5?

But now... Something has peaked my interest. Something like Wu Chess. I finally have a reason and a way to brush up on my black & whites.

The RZA started a new website for online chess. Live matches, lessons, tournaments, and exhibitions. I'm cool enough to admit how geeky that shit is. Oh and as a bonus they even say they plan on donating a large part of revenue to the Hip-Hop Chess Federation to fund scholarships. I pre-registered and everything.

The question is, if you become my competition, how will you fare?

Latest News on Mary J Blige, Omarion, Panic At The Disco, Ne-yo

Before we start of a new week we look back on news, and what's hot from the past weekend in the music industry.

Singer OMARION is no longer on Columbia Records. A source at the label confirmed that the Sony imprint decided to drop the former B2K lead singer. Omarion (real name: Omari Ishmael Grandberry) signed as a solo artist to Columbia Records after B2K broke up in December 2003. His boy band was actually signed to Sony's Epic division. The 23-year-old singer released two solo CDs for the record company, including 2005's 'O' and 2006's '21.' Both albums were certified gold. In December of 2007, Omarion partnered with rapper Bow Wow on the CD, 'Face Off.' To date, the set has sold 341,137 units according to SoundScan. Rumors are he could either join Motown Records or Epic in the future.

New album plans for PANIC AT THE DISCO. There sophomore album, "Pretty. Odd.," hasn't even been out a month, but guitarist and chief songwriter Ryan Ross is already giving details about the group's next effort. "We've written a bunch of songs since" recording "Pretty. Odd.," stating that the group is working on 9 or 10 new songs now and there new album is almost at his final stage. Futher info will be released soon.

Meanwhile R&B singer NE-YO reports to being "bored" with R&B and the sound thats he's doing in his last 2 albums, and wants 'Year Of The Gentleman' to be different . Judging by the handful of tracks we previewed from his new album, indeed offers a different style than just the traditional R&B. Also His tour compain with Alicia Keys and Jordin Sparks shows us a few for trays about movies and TV. Ne-yo preping up for a movie role?

MARY J. BLIGE then again, premiered her video for the hit single "Stay Down" featured from her last album "Growing Pains". First impressions about the video tells us its coming out way to short and monotone for a hit record like "Stay Down". But judge for yourself and watch it here. (link below)

Wu-Tang Clan founder RZA, System of a Down bassist Shavo Odadjian, Kinetic 9 (aka Beretta 9) and up-and-coming Chicago rapper Reverend William Burke have formed the new group Achozen. The hip-hop/rock hybrid has just finished recording a self-titled debut album that is set to be released this summer on digital label, urSESSION.
