Finding the right search engine optimization company is a difficult task. Within the industry the available products and services vary widely from company to company. With such low barriers to entry there are more self professed "SEO experts" everyday. How do you decide on a company to trust with this important service?

What is SEO?
You built a website to promote your products or services online. However, without the right marketing you are not capturing the traffic volume that you could be. People must be able to find your site to see your unique product offerings. Search engine optimization is the process of promoting your website using the search engines. SEO can provide the missing key to increased traffic and sales.

What to Expect?

Since most search engine users don't view results past page two, search engine ranking is crucial. It is no surprise then that everyone would like to be in the number one spot for their identified search terms. However, no company can guarantee top billing in the major search engines. If they do, keep looking until you find someone that is more trustworthy.

You should also be weary of a company that can't explain their optimization process. There is no magic formula for ranking success. An SEO company should get to know your business, have broad industry knowledge, and realize that consistent effort produces results. Like the tortoise who raced the hare, the successful SEO company understands that slow and steady wins the race.

What's Next?
Try to educate yourself on the SEO process. The internet has many good articles that explain the basic principles. This will help you know to what to expect from the companies you interview. A skilled SEO firm will offer several services:

*	Analytics - Reviewing how people are finding your site.

*	Research -Identifying keywords related to your business that people are searching for.

*Content Creation - Writing content around the research and analytics to ultimately drive traffic to your site.

*	Online Public Relations - Blogging, link building, and looking for opportunities to place banner and tile ads that will generate traffic to your website.

*	Usability Analysis - As more traffic is coming to your site, reviewing how they are behaving once they arrive and how to increase conversions.

Make sure you choose a search engine optimization firm that understands these fundamentals and can use this knowledge to your advantage. Search engines are the most powerful direct marketing tool available today. It is important that you understand and embrace the opportunities that the search engines offer. With the proper execution, search engine optimization can open up a world of possibilities for your business.

As a keen consumer of coffee, I have been to many a cafe and sampled the wares on offer. To be hones

As a keen consumer of coffee, I have been to many a cafe and sampled the wares on offer. To be honest, these have varied from the sickeningly undrinkable to he excellent. With the advent of a lot of chains that deal with coffee, and also McDonalds getting into the act with their so-called McCafe, one could say we are spoilt for choice. This is a good thing.

As part of being a heavy coffee drinker, loyalty cards are a large part of life. Most cafes offer them, even the independent ones who are not part of chains. The basic deal is that you drink coffee, get the card stamped and after five stamps, you get a free one. It is a simple idea, and it works. Your customers keep coming back, or they go to the same chain, but in a different place.

I am not much of one for complaining about things, but I figure that the cathartic benefits of being a blogger must have something going for them. So, I am going to indulge in some very puerile and petty whinging. Before you point out the utter worthlessness of this post, I would like to mention that I know. It has utterly no purpose other than to blow off some steam. That is all.

At one cafe, part of a chain that shall remain nameless, I showed up with said loyalty card and ordered a rare but anticipated two large mochaccinos, (I am a sucker for coffee and chocolate). After the girl's initial surprise that I would order two of them, she seemed a bit perplexed by the fact that I had loyalty card from another branch of the same chain. As she had assumed that I did not have one, and had already rung up the cost, she seemed decidedly sour at the fact that one was free as I had dared to use a card from another branch at her precious store. She fumed and erred, and I could easily tell that she was doing some quick thinking.

This experience got me thinking about the level of service that cafes sometimes offer. In this case, I was surprised at the apparent reluctance to honour a card that was clearly from the same chain as the cafe I was in. And then, to treat a customer very coldly in the process seemed a bit rich. Luckily, there were other people there who were far more pleasant, and did a lot to compensate for this woman's sourness.

If one does not wish to use loyalty cards from a chain, why would one be involved in a franchise to that very chain? Sour pusses are a relatively common sight in this part of the world and its shops, as if the customers are a burden to them and an interruption to their day of getting paid for doing as little as possible. At the end of the day, as a member of a franchise, unless explicitly stated as a condition, shop staff should honour their loyalty cards with some level of gratitude. Someone who has gained enough stamps to receive a free coffee is obviously a loyal customer who enjoys the service.

For anyone who works in a cafe, a smile for the service is not too much to ask and can make a customer's day. Even without the loyalty cards, I would sooner go to a cafe that has a friendly barista on staff who is generous with the smiles. The sight of a sour puss just makes me think that someone has made a bad career choice.

Oh yeah, and I visited the cafe very early in the day, so the girl concerned would not have had the excuse that it was a bad day. Unless she was hung over or feeling sick, which means she should not have been at work.

Cathartic experience over. Enough said.

In Christ,

Service and a Grateful Heart

Two other aspects of spiritual practice that I find helpful are being of service to others and having a grateful heart.

This morning I was listening to Wayne Dyer’s Inspiration: Your Ultimate Calling. I have this on CD and when I’m in the car I like to listen to it. It’s just another way to absorb some good information in the midst of all the garbage! As I drove this morning Wayne spoke of the ego and how the ego tries to distract us, keeping us agitated and grasping after more and more. It feeds on the illusion that we need more, and need to protect what we have or else someone is going to take it from us. Spirit, on the other hand, is infinite and ever giving. Having no sense of lack, but a firm belief that there is infinite abundance, Spirit has no need to protect or hoard. To be like Spirit, our Source, believe that there is abundance and that we will always be taken are of. When we do so we will naturally become more preoccupied with being of service than protecting and hoarding our time or what we have. When we let go and give, we will find that it comes back to us; and then some! So part of good spiritual practice is to be of some service to others. Conversely, I find when I am in a mode where I am totally self absorbed, I lack energy and vibrance.

Finally, maintaining a grateful heart is a part of my spiritual practice that I find helpful. I do this in a simple way that takes about 60 seconds. At the end of each day, right as I get into bed, I take around 60 seconds to become conscious of at least five things that day that I have to be grateful for. I find this, not only a good review of the day, but something which lifts my spirits. Those who have grateful hearts walk through life with a much more positive, happy attitude. Simply by knowing how blessed we are, we become a blessing for others in the positive energy that we radiate.

All of this being said, I am NO saint. I have my ups and downs; my good days and bad. Ask any of my friends who know me well! Yet in the midst of it all, when I maintain some spiritual practice, there is a pervading sense that life has meaning and that I’m going somewhere and somehow contributing to this world.

Whatever your spiritual practice may be, I pray that it is something which gives meaning and energizes your life and relationships.

A homeowner is rarely ever prepared for a water damage event. Whether it is because of a natural disaster or because of a major plumbing issue, they will just about always be very unexpected and catch you off guard. Many times plumbing breaks or home flooding because of natural disasters can happen in the middle of the night, on the weekend, or on a holiday. When water decides to flood your home for whatever reason, it works on no ones schedule bit its own.

If you have a flooding disaster at one of these inconvenient times, would you know who to call right away or would you be standing in your flooded kitchen trying to look up someone qualified in water damage issues at three in the morning, Christmas day, or Sunday? Would the company you choose have an emergency number to call and if you did would you get a live person or a recording telling you to contact them during regular business hours?

When your home is being flooded or has already been flooded it is always an emergency and you want to be sure that when you make that desperate call in the middle of the night or at any time that there will be someone available to talk to you and reassure that someone will be on there way to help you in as little as an hour. This is what a qualified water damage expert will be able to do.

When dealing with a flood issue in any home, the most important thing is to stop the water from coming in if possible and finding the fastest way possible to get it out and dried up. The time that water is inundating your home is crucial to the damage that can be prevented. The longer the water is down, the more damage there will likely be. Damage to the belongings in the home, the structure of the home, and the possibility for mold growth all multiply with the length of time the water is there.

When you have to call in a water damage team, you will want to know in advance that they will show up ready to access the damage and begin work immediately if at all possible. You will want to know that they have the latest and best equipment available for water removal, know how to help save your belongings, be willing to help get your belongings out if necessary, and help you put your things back in when the job is finished. What you want is a real professional team. So why not find a water damage specialist such as this before that midnight emergency happens?

Good morning, Los Angeles!

Jack Morrison here on this beautiful L.A. day to talk to you about some more cool stuff! But first, may I address to those anonymous emails that I've received that I am NOT Jim's cousin. Sorry, but he's from a different Morrison! Anyway, I notice that whenever I flush a toilet or have the shower running for a long time in my house that the pipes in the walls start screaming like banshees! Can anyone relate to that? It's no fun. Sometimes I'd be washing my clothes and that godawful sound will resonate through every room, giving me the chills! This leads to our topic for today...duh duh duhhhhhhhh...plumbing!

Okay, I don't know how many of you out there in the city of angels know just how complicated ALL of our residential and commercial plumbing systems are. I can't imagine how we came up with such a system; it's like the freeway system tenfold! Anyway, plumbing systems act up in a myriad of ways like clogging, giving out dirty water, screaming pipes, overflowing our toilets (I guess that relates to clogging), etc. Plumbers have their work cut out for them. Not only do they have to navigate through all of these pipes that serve so many different purposes that are all in the same pipe network, but they have to pin point where the problem is and fix it!

These plumbing services in Los Angeles that are listed on the site I'm with are some seriously top of the line professionals! It's pretty amazing that services like plumbing and automotive repair offer free quotes because just to find the problem and to quote it can take a lot of work when you have to map through pipe or hose networks!

So if you are looking for a real deal plumbing service, make sure that it's not their first year for one, and two, come to Repairfinders.com! We list only the best for one of the United States' best cities to live in! These people not only work their hardest at fixing your problems, but they're also offering free quotes to each and every one of us L.A. residents. Now that's a deal!

If you're reading this, look over to the side bar on the right. (yes, the right, I made sure to double check). It's not an ad, I promise. Ok, maybe it is sort of an ad but I don't get paid for it. It's an "ad" for Kiva, a site that helps connect lenders of microloans to the entrepreneurs who need the funds. I've been fascinated by the idea of microcredit for awhile (ok, embarrassing admission, I learned about it from NPR. Yes, I'm one of those people). And now, you have a chance to make micro loans yourself. I learned about this wonderful program from my oft mentioned favorite food blog, 101 Cookbooks. She even started a 101 Cookbooks Kiva Team.

I went ahead and registered, although I haven't been able to make a loan yet (still haven't rec'd my new cards yet and no way I'm linking paypal to my bank account) but I plan to, soon. It's amazing what $25 can mean to people in other countries without access to capital. Not to be preachy or anything, but it's pretty awesome. Plus, there is very little risk involved, a very high percentage of loans are repaid. A ridiculous amount, especially considering the amount of mortgages currently being repaid (what's the foreclosure rate now? Like a million?) Anyway, that concludes my do-gooding for the week. I promise to return to my usual self centered and misanthropic posts soon :)

Hello Everyone,

I have been really moved by Ramadan. As hard as it has been, it has brought pause

Hello Everyone,

I have been really moved by Ramadan. As hard as it has been, it has brought pause to my life and made me look at things very introspectively. Which is great, and just what I needed. Of course I hope and pray that after Ramadan is over I can still keep the momentum.

Yesterday I was fortunate enough to hear some words on surrender. They stirred my thoughts and I probed the topic even more than I did in my previous post on surrender. In my previous post I asserted that surrender meant to completely give the reins of one’s life over to God. Though easier said than done what does that mean?

It means to that we really should truly regard God as the source of all goodness. That seems redundant, but our actions seem not to show that. How many of us when things are going really, really well remember to thank God first. I know for me that is the case. I get caught up in everything and then as an afterthought thank god. This means to mean I am more attached to the gifts of his mercy, than him himself frankly. Things go well, we get a promotion, we get a raise we immediately call everyone up to go have some drinks and celebrate, I am speaking from experience and not pontificating in the slightest.

May I give an example of what I mean? Sa’di in hi Bostan give the example of Sultan Mahmud and Ayaz, the Sultan’s servant. The poem begins with someone criticizing Mamud saying, “What wonder this is! Ayaz his favorite has no beauty. A flower without color, without any smell, how strange then is the nightingale’s attraction!” When told of these words Mahmud replies, “truly my love is for his virtue, not for his form or face.”

Sa’di proceeds to recounts the story of how in royal procession a camel laden with jewels and pearl once stumbled and fell, spilling its precious stones. Sultan Mahmud being generous gave permission for his followers to plunder the jewels and hastily rode away. All of the followers broke rank and rushed to gather the jewels, neglecting the king for this wealth. Only Ayaz ignored the jewels and followed after the king.

When Mahmud saw him following, he called out, “O Ayaz, what has thou gained of the plunder?” In reply Ayaz declared, “I sought no jewels but followed my King, for how can I occupy myself with your gifts when all I seek is to serve

That story really touched me. It made me realized that in good time or bad times, whether dealing with God manifesting in my life in a wrathful form forcibly shaking me out of my slumber in the realm of self worship, or whether he is loving and enthusiastically calling me to ward towards him as parents do when their child is becoming more and more confident in his capacity to walk what should matter is neither the gifts I receive or what I have stripped of me but my duty to service. I really feel like true service is real surrender.

Buts as always how can we serve God when we cannot serve each other our spouses our fellow man. We need an intermediate to develop in use true capacity for service. This intermediate will make us manifest the right state of being at a right time for it under the right conditions.

To be inwardly calm and detached is the goal. This doesn’t mean we are cold and callous to the world it mean that if we became rich it was through the grace of God we should make the most of this gift to live a better life and help people and enjoy ourselves. However if we were to lose it we should take that also as a gift from God , knowing that as the source of all goodness he would never put us in harm’s way and give us something we couldn’t handle.

O friend, if you come near to the throne,

neglect not the King for his jewels

For on this path, the saint never asks

anything of God but Him

So know if you seek but the grace of the Friend

you’re entangled in your prison, not his.

My latest crush and new author Meghan McCain has released her first book, "McCain, My Dad", a children's book. You probably won't be hearing about this on the news because the outlets are all too busy trying to smear Gov. Sarah Palin. Based on the cover of the book, it seems to have some Rockwell-like illustrations (which I'm sure are beautiful) and a fresh perspective on a great man who could possibly be the next President of the United States. At a time where it seems that our youth has lost appreciation and an understanding of what makes this country so great, I'm sure this book helps to put out a message of service, honor, and respect for our country.

McCainBlogette.com - Day Two

More on the book:

Born the son and grandson of military men, Senator John McCain from Arizona was destined for a life serving his country in the armed forces. Like many great men, he occasionally struggled with authority, but once he found his true calling -- flying naval aircraft -- his ideals and commitment to his country took him far.

From the low point of five years as a prisoner of war to the high points of raising a large, happy family and being chosen as the Republican nominee in the 2008 presidential election, Senator McCain has lived an incredible life driven by a love of his country and a desire to serve it to the best of his ability.

This picture book biography, written with great love and insight by his oldest daughter, writer Meghan McCain, shows us the public John McCain and the personal John McCain in a way we've never seen before -- making this American hero come to life before young eyes.

You know that feeling when something small looks like it’s going to turn into a financial nigh

You know that feeling when something small looks like it's going to turn into a financial nightmare. I had one of those episodes this week (Excuse the glass-half-empty attitude- don't worry, this story has a very happy ending).

So, after 18 months of living in my jeans pocket, the little electronic thingy which operates my car alarm finally collapsed. I could still push the buttons (just), but the casing had finally given up.

I, of course, was thinking... hmm... £150 for a new one...

I rang my (excellent) garage, but they told me that they no longer used or supported the model of car alarm they had fitted.

Now I'm thinking... more like £200 from an independent supplier...

But the garage did recommend an independent chap who, they said, was reliable and helpful. My mood suitably brightened, I gave him a call. Enter Kevin Terry of Northend Car Audio, Maidstone.

Kevin, it turns out, knows everything about car alarms. He is without doubt my new best friend. Over the phone, he successfully identified my alarm, the key, and what I needed. He could, of course, have fooled me into buying a new one, but instead took great joy in informing me that what I needed was just a new casing, available for the princely sum of... £4.

Thank you, Kevin. There's no way he's made any money on the deal, so let me repay him for his time and effort with a bit of publicity. Go to Kevin for honest and helpful advice on alarms, parking sensors, audio, air con regassing, phone kits and anything else which bolts onto your automotive pride and joy. Pop me an email and I'll gladly give you his mobile number.

Wow, but how can a four-day week feel like it is dragging on forever? Oh well. I'll be on my way home in under 3 hours. I'm tired and cranky and need a nap. I always hate teaching the morning after a night class because I usually don't get enough sleep.

Of course, it could just be the weather. It's pretty ugly out there.

Actually, even though the week has felt horribly long, it's been a good one. My grad class is freakin' awesome. It looks to have a good mix of old and new students, some with a lot of life experience. Content wise, it's my second favorite grad class to teach (out of 6), so I am pretty content. My undergrad class is too full, but I did manage to chase away one student when I started talking about our serving learning project. I've even been able to extract myself from a potential service obligation (by saying no to the provost, to boot!) because the timing was wrong. My paper was accepted to a conference in January (which means I have to decide if I really want to go). All in all, not shabby.

I even managed to get two people to promise to do the second draft of the self-study. So there!

In this process power stations emmits lots of carbon dioxide and sulphur dioxide comes out as the by-products of energy production and contribute to the global warming and acid rains. All who are involved in the design, construction and maintenance must take the issue under consideration. some improvements may cause damage to the buildings and places which may results in loss of original windows which can ruine the appearance of the building. However, alterations which effects the character of the building can be controlled by the local authorities.

For those of you that surf the ‘net often, you might be noticing audio clips that are popping

For those of you that surf the 'net often, you might be noticing audio clips that are popping up. Some will start playing as soon as you enter a site, and others you are beckoned to click "play" to hear their message.

Adding an audio clip to your website gives a personal touch where reading text is hard to portray. It puts a voice to you representing your product or service and can make a big effect on how you are perceived. It assists your website visitors so they can gain a better understanding of what you offer - just as a face-to-face meeting would - having an audio clip helps your web audience build that important relationship with you.

Audio also enhances your professional presentation - in most circumstances. In my opinion, having an audio clip (whether it is music or a voice-over) automatically play when a web page is opened is not a good idea. It is forcing the visitor to listen to something they may not have cared to hear and more importantly, it interferes with the music or radio program they are playing while surfing. It is best to provide an invitation to listen to the audio clip when it is appropriate to introduce it in your website content. This way, you are making your visitors feel comfortable and you appear professional and trustworthy at the same time.

From a marketing perspective, audio can act as an "attention grabber". You have the ability to guide your website visitor through your site and talk about the product or service you have to offer. The audio clip can also be a powerful motivator to explore and discover your site.

There are several ways to utilize audio on your website:

*Personal Messages: Add a personal greeting by means of introducing yourself, your products or your services. This is a quick way to capture their attention as opposed to counting on them to read all of the text you have provided. In fact, simply do that - read what you already have written on your site! This will give your visitors a lasting impression once they hear your voice.

*Promotional Message: Promote a sale, special give-away, or announce a brand new product you want to let everyone know about. Your passionate message speaking about how much you truly believe in your product or service will be sure to catch people's interest.

*Audio Testimonials: Ask your clients to record a quick sound byte for you and post this audio message, along with their name and website address (or contact information) and it becomes a powerful way to tell others of your credibility. Your visitors will be more apt to believe the testimonial if it's attached with a live voice of your client. Your client also wins by giving them some extra exposure of their business.

*Audio Instructions: If you offer a product that needs some instruction, provide an audio clip that explains the steps involved. You can accompany it with a picture of what you're talking about. Seeing and hearing how something works is very powerful and will give people the confidence they need to purchase what you have to offer.

* Audio Invitation: If you have a free e-newsletter, it's important to try and get as many people to sign up for it as possible - they are your target market just waiting to hear more from you! By using an audio message inviting people to sign and explain what they will get for their efforts (answering the "what's in it for me" question), can be very effective. Be sure to mention that you are giving away a free item to anyone signing up - such as a free article, e-book, or piece of artwork etc - people love receiving something free!

How to Put Audio on Your Site

Digital audio can come in many different formats, but the most common and safe format to use is MP3. There are several ways to going about creating these MP3 files - some more expensive than others. I'll detail a few here:

*Recording the audio on your home PC: There are lots of audio recording software available for you to install and start recording your message. All you need is a good quality computer microphone, a quiet room and you're good to go. Here are a couple of software suggestions:

- Audacity is a free, open source audio software program you download and install yourself.

- Web Audio Plus 1.0 is another free software program. I found instructions to use it here: How to put audio on your website

- Sony Sound Forge is a software package that you purchase. Sony Sound Forge enables you to create CD tracks and web audio files. You can even capture audio from an analog source and digitize it onto CD's and MP3's.

- Internet Audio-Video. These guys offer several different pieces of software in one bundle - which includes creating your own video as well. But be careful making your own video clips, if not done professionally, they could work against you. I'll be talking more about video next month.

* Using an on-line service:

- BYOAudio is an audio recording service where you can use your computer microphone or call in via the telephone. The MP3 sound clip is produced for you. They have a sale on right now for a 30-day trial for $1 and after that, it costs $19.95 a month.

- Audio Generator is also a monthly fee-based audio generating service. Beware - you have to sign up to get any information on them and then it is a very intense marketing campaign you need to endure. I was turned off right away - but that's just me.

* Hiring a Professional: With this option, you hire a local audio recording company and go into their studio where they record your voice-over, do edits to make it sound professional and perfect, add some background music and then your audio file is ready to be burned to CD or uploaded to your website.

As you can see, there are many options to consider on how to go about adding audio to your website; in my opinion, give the free open source software a try first and see how that works. If you find it's too difficult to manage and you want an easier way, try the services offered. Once you have your audio clip created, simply contact me or your web developer to have it added to your site.

PS. The resources mentioned above are sites I have found in my Internet searches - I do not make any guarantees; I'm just sharing my research results and do not endorse any of them personally.

Kind regards,

I applied for my UOB debit card today! (: I was very pleasantly taken aback by the service at UOB (Tampines). The people were amazing! The queues were short, the place was comfortable.

Although I was misled by one lady and ended up queuing for half an hour for nothing, I really wasn't upset by it at all. The manager came out of the counter booth, led me to the seat, got a queue ticket for me and spoke to another lady at the counter about me. She then smiled at me, told me to have a seat and apologised umpteen times for having to wait. She was extremely patient and helped me with everything step by step!

The manager also waited with me while the lady served the other people before me. When he was walking around, another guy came over, helped check my queue number in case I missed it and when it was my turn, he informed me so.

All that for a debit card that has no annual/monthly fees. Seriously. Wow.

I mean, well if it's some premium card thing, I'll be expecting DAMN GOOD hollywood treatment. But for a students account? WOW.

I'm so impressed that I'm already biased towards them. I think I'm gonna stick with them!

Popular travel community website Tripadvisor has just released the results of its annual hotel visit

Popular travel community website Tripadvisor has just released the results of its annual hotel visitor survey, and for us at the Duxton the results make heartening reading!

When asked what makes a hotel great, the most important factor (chosen by 30% of respondents) was location. Our guests often comment that they stay with us because we have the best location in Saigon, and it's also good for our banqueting business. There are other international standard 4* hotels in Saigon, but none of them are in district 1!

24% of respondents cited hotel staff/great service as the most important factor in a great hotel. This is an area we take very seriously. We know we may not be able to compete with our 5* neighbours in terms of number of rooms, extensive facilities or brand awareness, but we CAN and DO match them for service, as our guest feedback will confirm.

The Duxton also scores well in terms of rate, with 54% of respondents saying they prefer to pay between $100 and $200 per night for their hotel stays. Our internet rate of $150 sits right in the middle of this band.

All in all, the survey bears out what we at the Duxton see as our strengths - the best location in the city, fantastic service, and competitive, realistic pricing. Thanks Tripadvisor!

Watching The Daily Show (which has been awesome this week) today in their coverage of Sarah Palin

Watching The Daily Show (which has been awesome this week) today in their coverage of Sarah Palin's speech last night, I was reminded that I feel compelled to point out the following comments (transcript from NPR):

My fellow citizens, the American presidency is not supposed to be a journey of "personal discovery." This world of threats and dangers is not just a community, and it doesn't just need an organizer.

...

I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a "community organizer," except that you have actual responsibilities.

Can't we all agree that community organizers are generally good people, working for the good of their community? So why attack them, just because your opponent was one? Oh, and hey, perhaps you didn't get the memo, but Tuesday's theme at the convention was service.

Lest you think Sarah Palin is the only one with this problem, be assured that Guiliani piled on as well (quote from Political Punch):

"He worked as a community organizer," Giuliani said, laughing, as the crowd mocked the very notion. "What? He worked -- I said -- I said, OK, OK, maybe this is the first problem on the resume."

It was a night like any other night, the four of us were starving from a long day at the amusement park; across the street from our hotel was a TGI Fridays sitting on the lake. This restaurant in particular was larger from the outside than in. Three of my friends and I walked inside where the hostess was talking to a waitress, once she was done talking with her, she sat down and asked us how many covers we had. Since there were no open seats inside the restaurant we decided to lounge on the patio outside which sat on the lake. When we asked the young woman if there were any seats available outside she said, “I don’t know I haven’t been out there since an hour ago.” So we went ahead and checked it out ourselves. There were lots of empty seats outside which was weird because it was a warm night. We took our seats and waited for our server to come greet us. It wasn’t until 10 minutes later she came by and asked us what we would like to drink. We told her and she left; about ten minutes later once again she comes back with our drinks but she carried them without a tray and her fingers were touching the rims of the plastic cups. She set them down in front of my friend LUIS and let us pass them out to ourselves. We took our sips and to which we thought was gonna be a cold glass of refreshingly carbonated soda was the opposite. The pop was very warm and only had a few ice cubes floating on top; not only was the pop warm but it was also flat, that really made us mad. She came back and took our food order and left right away. She came back 5 min later and placed down the silver ware hard on the table and said, “Here.” We still were able to not complain after all that because we were waiting for our food patiently and didn’t want to put too much on the waitress. We ordered an appetizer, an appetizer is supposed to come before a meal and usually quick so it can stimulate your hunger. Well, we waited and waited for twenty minutes and still nothing, we finally saw our waitress walking around and asked where our appetizer was and she said it is busy and it will be a few minutes. We waited once again for 15 more minutes and decided to leave. Our decision to walk out may not have been the best choice, but the service wasn’t the best at all either. While being in the service class we were all taught to be kind to the customers, always serve the customers from the right with your right hand, make drinks properly and use a tray to bring and take back drinks, and check up on your table whenever there are questions. The waitress did none of these things probably cause she hasn’t taken a class on how to serve, that’s not my fault. It was a bad experience but I would still go to TGI Fridays, just not that one.
