Husky Stadium 12PM PT TV: Radio: KSL sports Radio

The question this week for BYU is not the BCS or by how much they may win by, but it is can BYU win a road non conference game. These games have given BYU trouble the past few years by losing to inferior teams and Tulsa comes to mind last year and Arizona in 2006. If BYU wins it will be their first non conference road win since beating Utah State by one in 2003 and their first road win outside of Utah since beating Cal in 2002. Current players are aware, but may not really care its been five years they will just know they have never won a road non conference game.

Last week Washington got hammered 44-10 at Oregon and looks to be a mediocre team at best. The player BYU needs to watch out for is quarterback Jake Locker aka 'Tim Tebow lite,' Locker had limited success last week by gaining 151 total yards passing and rushing. He is athletic and may be able to make plays against a green BYU secondary, but his running ability will be limited with the defensive line and line backers being the Cougars strength.

For BYU to win they need to get ahead early and remove the crowd from the game, because in Husky Stadium the 75,000 fans are very loud and can disrupt opponents and force offsides and false start penalties. Plus, with a coach on the hot seat and the home opener Washington will be primed and ready to go for this game against another ranked opponent.

Getting Austin Collie and Dennis Pitta the ball early to establish the passing game for big plays should be able to deflate the Huskies, and then BYU can just run it up the middle with Harvey Unga. BYU is the better team and should win, but in years past they have disappointed on these road games, but the offense is very mature and should be able to get everyone in line for this game and BYU will win by at least two touchdowns.

(1-0) (0-1)

Exciting matchup with I-AA Sacramento State coming into Fort Collins. This game should give new Rams head coach Steve Fairchild his first win, and be able to work on some things against Sac State. The Hornets are coming off of an impressive 45-10 win in their opener, and were lead by two 100 yard rushers in Bryan Hilliard and Evander Wilkins who lead the way.

Colorado State will need to watch those two players and the entire rushing attack from Sacramento State, because the passing attack was non existent with just over 150 yards passing.

Colorado State should be able to win by 10 points or more, and getting quarterback Billy Farris more experience.

Notre Dame Stadium 2:30 PM CT TV: Radio: XTRA Sports 1360

This game will be interesting, at least in my opinion, because last year Notre Dame was terrible going 3-9, but have a majority of returning players back with experience. This is the Irish season opener and they had the privilege of seeing San Diego State get embarrassed against Cal Poly, and the only excuse that can be mustered up is that the Aztecs were looking past Cal Poly to Notre Dame.

The positives for San Diego State is quarterback Ryan Lindley who threw for 354 yards last week. If San Diego State wants to be in this game he needs to have another strong weak, which is possible since last year Notre Dame's defense was not very good.

The running game has to show up for the Aztecs to keep the Irish off guard, and last weak against the FCS team they only managed 27 yards. Brandon Sullivan will need to step up against Notre Dame and have about 75 yards on the ground to have Notre Dame respect the run.

This is a game that Notre Dame needs to show that it can dominate an opponent, Jimmy Clausen who had elbow surgery to help an injury that bothered him last year. The main concern for Notre Dame is their offensive line that was terrible last year, so if the Irish offense is to have any success the offensive line must produce.

Look for Notre Dame to win this game, because San Diego State is not very good and they lost to I-AA Cal Poly at home last week.

This is an interesting early season conference match up, because Air Force is breaking in many new offensive players and Wyoming has a new quarterback Dax Crum. Last week Air Force eased in the new players by destroying Southern Utah, and the running game looks to be their strength again by running the ball 76 times. Expect Air Force to keep using the running game with new quarterback Shea Smith, but the Falcons will mix in some more play action passing to keep Wyoming offense. Smith is the key to the Air Force offense as last week he had 91 rushing yards and 75 passing, and then also wide receiver Kyle Halderman who ran for 87 yards.

Wyoming is ready for this game, after having to come from to defeat Ohio in game one. Wyoming has a very good rush defense, so the matchup between the Falcons option against the Pokes deffense will be one to watch. Air Force most likely will get its yards, so Wyoming will need to limit the big running plays.

Wyoming on offense will be lead by running back Devin Moore 82 rushing yards with a score. Moore is small in size but is a speed back who can break for a big play if he can make it outside. The Cowboys also have new quarterback Dax Crum who played fairly well in week one by completing 64% of his passes, but also had two scores and two picks and lead the final drive for victory over Ohio.

Wyoming should be able to win this game, because they are at home and have a good rush defense which will limit what the Falcons can do.

Both teams showed nothing last week, by rolling over to their respective opponents. Texas A&M's loss was worse by losing at home to Arkansas State. New Mexico lost in week one to TCU 26-3 in a game that most thought could have been the best game last week in Mountain West play.

Quarterback Donovan Porterie did suffer a neck injury early in last weeks game and is going to start game two against the Aggies, but sometimes there is the after effect of such injury for players to play ancy. Protection will be a key for the Lobos, also running back Rodney Ferguson will need to help control the ball in the running game. Last week Ferguson was not as effective since New Mexico was down 16-0 in first nine minutes.

The Aggies have talent at quarterback with Stephen McGee who is a very capable dual threat quarterback, but in the new offense under MIke Sherman has McGee throwing first and running second in a more traditional offense. Then at running back Texas A&M has Mike Goodson who ran for for 124 yards and two scores. The Aggies look to be more of a run first offense with Goodson in the backfield who has the big play capabilities as he averaged 5.2 per carry last week.

This game should be an even matchup, but the edge has to be given to New Mexico because they are at home and will be up again to face a Big XII opponent in Texas A&M.

(1-0) (1-0)

Amon Carter Stadium 6PM CT TV: NONE Radio: 103.3 ESPN Radio

This in state matchup features a pretty solid FCS team in Stephen F. Austin who defeated Langston 56-19. SFA is capable of scoring, but TCU is a much, much better defensive team then Langston. The SFA Lumberjacks did nothing special in their opener they were just given good field position because of their special teams.

TCU will roll past SFA with Andy Dalton at quarterback and then star running back Aaron Brown both who should have a dominant game. The one thing TCU needs to do is find a go to receiver to make this team more complete then it all ready is.

(1-0) #22 (1-0)

This game has the chance to get ugly. Last year Utah was in disaray with quarterback Brian Johnson not at full health and tried to save the day in an ugly 27-0 loss to a UNLV team that won only 2 games last year. Some 'experts' are saying Utah could still be living off the high for defeating Michigan last week on the road, but coaches have the team preparing just as they did against Michigan plus the fact that the Utes were embarassed last year.

UNLV has players, but they snuck by lowly Utah State last week and only played a vanilla offense against the Aggies. UNLV has possibly the best receiving corp in the league with Ryan Wolfe and Casey Flair and the matcup between Ute defensive back Sean Smith and either of these receivers will be something to watch out for. Then there is Frank Summers who bulldozed his way to over 100 yards last year, and toss in the fact that UNLV head coach came out saying that Utah was affraid to tackle Summers and only dived at his ankles adds fuel to this game.

UNLV has players on offense, but has yet to have a game where everything runs smoothly. If Utah plays defense this week like last week then UNLV has very little chance to score or gain any yards.

Utah will be ready, because of last years embarassing loss and this is the first week Utah has been ranked in the top 25 since they finished the 2004 season ranked fifth in the coaches poll so the crowd will be rocking with a projected sell out at Rice-Eccless Stadium. This game could resemble last years Wyoming game, when coach Whittingham heard that coach Joe Glenn guaranteed a win ove Utah.

Utes should win comfortably by two touchdowns or more.

Though Gretchen Espina, 20, of Biliran, Leyte was proclaimed the very first Pinoy Idol last August 1

Though Gretchen Espina, 20, of Biliran, Leyte was proclaimed the very first Pinoy Idol last August 17, criticisms and feedbacks are pointing out that somebody deserved to be named the very first Pinoy Idol.

Head- to- Head battle, Jayann Vs. Gretchen

"Early into the development of Pinoy Idol, there was a growing petition in online forums requesting for Ignacio's exclusion as its program director primarily because of his frequent use of butterflies (whether live butterflies or having people wear butterfly wings) on every project he has directed. He commented that he would still stick to his "lucky trademark" and even taunted petitioners to direct the show and put beetles or mosquitoes on the set if that is what they want.

In an article published before Pinoy Idol's premiere, noted film and television critic Nestor U. Torre hoped that the lapses that occurred in Philippine Idol would be remedied in Pinoy Idol. However, once the show went underway, those hopes seem to dampen as Torre noted on the first episode alone some mediocre talent and Gutierrez not yet becoming his own as host. Torre did laud the judging styles of Alcasid and Magdangal and Tracy's emerging Simon Cowell-like demeanor. One viewer, who wrote to the Philippine Daily Inquirer about the show, was not as impressed when comparing it to Philippine Idol, complaining about Gutierrez's nasal and unnatural hosting style, Magdangal's immaturity as judge and Tracy seemingly imitating Cowell more as compared to Cayabyab.

Meanwhile, entertainment writer Jean Oli wrote that Pinoy Idol does not have that "Idol feel" despite high expectations towards GMA Network, calling it "an ordinary singing contest." She even stated that the network's previous singing contests such as Pinoy Pop Superstar and Celebrity Duets: Philippine Edition were more interesting to watch than Pinoy Idol.

In a post-mortem article written six days after the finale, Torre wrote that the entire Finals phase of the competition came out less exciting than Philippine Idol's because of several factors, namely some of the finalists were not even star-material, the entire audition process that put them in the competition in the process, and the early elimination of the better singers from the competition. He even doubts if the winners and others in the competition were really talented and versatile enough to take advantage of the strong support that have during the competition." [canned verbatim from http://en.wikipedia.org/Pinoy Idol]

At the very early stage of the competition, a lot of criticisms had been released, and that criticisms still lives even the PI already ended its season. More talented singers were ousted early in the competition however, those who are just the so-so ones are still competing and kept on moving to the next round. However, people must understand that this is the format of the competition, i don't mean that the format is to keep those not so good singers on track, what i mean is, this competition decides the winner based on the text votes alone. Nothing more, just the text votes but comparing to Pinoy Dream Academy, the people are the ones to decide and rate the idol contestant not through the judges score. Somehow, it has an advantage, and somehow it has a disadvantage.

what is Pinoy Idol?

Pinoy Idol originated from Pop Idol created by a British entertainment executive Simon Fuller, which seeks to discover the best singer or IDOL in the country through series of nationwide auditions and live performances , which is determined by public voting through SMS.

Yes. Public voting through SMS.

Philippines has been considered as the text capital of the world. Millions if not Billions text messages are being sent everyday, thus it is really a great investment. However what is the disadvantage of this is that, the contestants who have great connections and can afford to lose their thousands of phone loads can really make a difference on this competition.

Now, as the Pinoy Idol ended its season, controversially 20 year old Gretchen Espina, ultimately claimed the name as the very FIRST PINOY IDOL over rival, Jayann Bautista, who had released a record album under the VIVA records label previously.

This result started a number of people to question and bewildered. Many believed that, since Gretchen Espina's father is a governor, the connections were there and made her won. Plus, rumors spread that Ogie Alcasid will be making albums for Penelope, Sue Ellen, and Robby, the issue gets deeper and horrible for Gretchen's part. But, Gretchen allegedly denied about the spreading issue, telling that the she was, loved by the people that was why she won the competition.

the competition already ended, however the real competition just started.

being the first Pinoy Idol, there is a great challenge for Gretchen to prove that she is definitely the Pinoy Idol to be honored and hailed. Versus is challenging Gretchen to do not just good but excel in everything she does! People will keep an eye to this promising woman.

we may not be the best among the rest but if you keep on dreaming to be the best and do great, nothing is impossible.

the best thing in life is that you know, even others do not, that you have something...

something real, something to be proud of.

It’s been a month and I haven’t written anything of late. My fault, as I had many tasks

It's been a month and I haven't written anything of late. My fault, as I had many tasks lined up, and I'm also quite prone to a lot of distractions which I feel inclined to devote some of my time to. But I can never leave this blog hanging. I'll always come back to make some comparisons. And here we go again...

First off as a post for my birth month will be among two gangster-criminal-like actors who are screen legends, both of them. I wanted to make a post on them earlier, but i only got around to thinking about them recently. I especially heard that they were going to make another movie together, entitled Righteous Kill.

Al Pacino and Robert de Niro already acted on two movies together: Heat and The Godfather II. In both movies, they showed just how convincing they could be as men of guns. Whether the role calls for a hitman, a gangster, a cold-blooded criminal, or a hardcore cop, these two never fail to deliver their best.

The Godfather Gangster: Al Pacino

He has taken on roles that involve a lot of hitting, a lot shooting, and a hell lot of killing. With award-winning performances in many of his movies, Al Pacino knows his character and embraces it. He was terrifying in his gangster roles like in Scarface, feared in The Godfather trilogy, and realistic in his dramatic performances like in Scent of a Woman.

Al Pacino has a long list of nominations and awards for his roles. His easy yet convincing portrayal of his characters undoubtedly made him a star. His dedication to his craft was very evident to the entertainment industry and his fans.

While he branched out to dramatic roles, and even won awards for them, Pacino is best remembered as a gangster or a criminal lord. To this day, while I favor Scent of a Woman a lot, his image still comes across me as a man with a mission.. and a gun.

Enigmatic: Robert de Niro

Robert de Niro also shines as a gangster. He's at par with Al Pacino in this one. The only difference I can think of between the two of them as gangsters is, while Al Pacino would be holding the gun, Robert de Niro would just be sitting back in his armchair smoking a cigar, with a devilish smile and a deceitful glint in his eyes. Pacino would go out shooting people; de Niro would stay in giving orders to kill.

This is another star who just has that natural charm of bringing to life strong and aggressive portrayals like Al Capone and Vito Corleone. He also an impressive list of awards, as well as branching out to producing and directing films (like Pacino).

The one area where de Niro seems to outshine Pacino is his sense of humor, probably. In recent years, de Niro has starred in comedy films like Analyze This and Meet the Parents. He also shared his voice to the animated film Shark Tale.

[caption id="attachment_54" align="aligncenter" width="450" caption="Al Pacino and Robert de Niro"][/caption]

Who do YOU go for?

I honestly like them both. They've shown great talent and that're both geniuses in their craft. Despite their gangster-like faces, they are awesome and entertaining legends who have given us films that are most likely part of our top 20 favorite films list.

But I choose Robert de Niro over Al Pacino. This is mainly because Robert de Niro showed us his sense of humor and actively acted in comedy films. Al Pacino is all drama, which is not a bad thing. But I tend to like dramatic actors who can also be convincing in a funny role.

I never thought of Seoul as ’safe city’ until I experienced New York. I was stunned when

I never thought of Seoul as 'safe city' until I experienced New York. I was stunned when I noticed how loosely the bikes were chained on the street in Seoul. People simply chained one of the wheels not even to any post, and no one seemed to worry if they would get stolen. I am also surprised with the noticeable increase on the number of bike riders in the city. You see everywhere high school girls and boys riding bikes after school in their uniforms. Very Asian scenery like you would see in old Asian movies or comics.

If you may know, people are paranoid with their bikes in New York as no matter how heavily you chain them, thieves find their way around to steal them. People make sure to chain every single parts like wheels, seats, or any attachments when they park, and ridiculously enough, they would even carry the seats or wheels with them when they have to run to a deli. (Funny, definition of 'Theft' on wikipedia shows exactly how people steal chained bikes.)

Here are some numbers on crime rates in New York versus Seoul I looked up out of curiosity. Predictably, New York shows higher numbers on every crimes BUT rape.. hah?!

Additional news on the new artsy bike racks in New York that came across to me. Nice gesture for those New Yorkers who still love to ride bikes despite the danger of stealing and roadkill!

Another interesting article on Bike Ride festival that just happened in New York. Cute how these fierce New York people can get excited with quite simple courtesy like this.

I spent my very early childhood in America, and ever since I've been always curious and comfortable with American culture while growing up in Korea. After spending recent few years in New York, my curiosity on American life has become real experiences, and as I returned to my hometown Korea, I've been noticing my perspective has been changed as an observer on the culture once I was accustomed to. I would like to write about my new discoveries between two similar yet different cultures until my eyes get dull with this new sensation.

I LOVE BETTY LA FEA

On September 8, ABS_CBN will again give you the most successful Colombian telenovela and would make your primetime bida full of laughs, cries, and inspiration as Bea Alonzo will again reign your every night with here unparalleled craft in acting. Replacing My Girl which starred Kim Chui and Gerald Anderson, I love Betty La Fea with its star studded cast will again make another history in our primetime.

Let's take a look how the story starts...

Beatriz Aurora Pinzón Solano (Betty), is an unattractive, but very intelligent woman working for the Eco Moda fashion design company. Betty constantly faces the scorn of her prettier workmates, but eventually is promoted to a senior job, becomes romantically involved with her boss, and receives a grooming makeover.

Although graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in economics and master’s degree in finance, and fluent in English and French, Betty has been unable to secure a job interview, because, she claims, her ugly photograph ruins her otherwise impressive résumé. Tired of unsuccessfully searching for a job matching her education and experience, she applies to be the secretary to the president of the fashion company Eco Moda, but sends her résumé without a photograph, in hopes of securing an interview; however, that job was given to an inexperienced, university drop-out, but very attractive Patricia Fernández, who happens to be best girlfriend of the president’s fiancée, Marcela Valencia.

Armando Mendoza, Eco Moda’s new president, is the smart, handsome, and well educated son of one of the company's two, owner-founders. He is engaged to Marcela Valencia, daughter of the other company founder, who also holds a high position in Eco Moda. Armando refuses Patricia as his secretary, assuming Marcela wants her to spy on him, given his womanizer's reputation, so, he urges the hiring of another candidate with the most desired requirements; he hires Betty and Patricia as his secretaries, after Marcela pressured him, arguing that the company president could not have an ugly secretary representing him.

Since there is no available office for Betty, she occupies a store room in back of Armando’s office, while Patricia receives the prime public spot; nevertheless, Betty is in charge of the most important task, proving to Armando how intelligent, versatile, and well educated she is, and daily gaining more responsibilities, becoming essential to Armando’s risky, new business plan for Eco Moda."

FINALLY college football is here, and here is the week one preview. Just a quick note all game times are local times of the opponent and new this year is a link to the MWC's teams home radio station if you want to listen to the games.

(0-0) (0-0)

Joe Glenn is firmly on the hot seat while entering his 6th season as head coach, and a win here will help get this season off to the right start. This is a return game that Wyoming won in a turnover riddled game that featured 11 total turnovers, a side note for Wyoming is that they have won their last five home openers.

This is a new year with some changes on the Wyoming side of the ball which starts at quarterback where juco transfer Dax Crum who beat out Karsteen Sweed who was previously the two year starter for Wyoming. Ohio will definetly need to key on Wyoming runnig back Devin Moore who is a small and speedy back who is a dynamic playmaker for the Pokes. Moore did average an astounding 4.9 yards per carry last season, and he will be the key offensively for Wyoming to be able to defeat Ohio. Especially with a new quarterback and breaking in new receivers the running game and turnover free ball will be the key to a Wyoming win.

Ohio University on offense loses their starting quarterback from a year ago, and star running back Kalvin McRae who ran for over 1,400 yards last season. The offensive line does return three starters up front, so the running game should be solid. The starting quarterback for Ohio will be Junior Theo Scott who had 109 attempts last year and threw five touchdown passes, so he does have some experience. The cupboard is not dry on the receiving end with one returning receiver in Taylor Price who averaged 14.5 yards per reception and then the best target could be tight end Andrew Mooney nine touchdowns and just under 1,000 yards. Those are the key players that Wyoming needs to stop.

Defensively Wyoming should be able to stop or slow down the Ohio running game, because last year Wyoming only allowed three opponents to have 100 yards or more rushing yards. They did lose some defensive line players but the linebackers will be strong to help out up front.

Ohio's defense returns only four starters back, and none of those were star play makers last year. They did give up 30 points per game last year, and this year might be worst with the inexperience of returning talent.

Prediction for the game has Wyoming winning a game where they control ball and just pound away against this Ohio defense. This will be fairly close but Wyoming will win.

This game really has no interest because last year Southern Utah went 0-11 last year in the I-AA division. This is the perfect game for Air Force to break in their new quarterback, receivers, and running backs. The new quarterback will be wither Shea Smith or Eric Horbert, both will see time at quarterback which will give Coach Troy Calhoun a good chance to see who plays better in real game situations. Air Force should have no problem scorng against this SUU defense who gave up more then 30 points per game last year. This game is not on television so there will not be a way to see how Air Force will do with the new talent.

Air Force should be fine in this game and win easily.

This may not be the most important game of the week, but it is the most high profile game of the week. This game will be available either on ABC OR ESPN2 depending on where you live. This game has national attention because of new Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez and his spread offense he ran at West Virgina. Most of the 'experts' are split on this game on who will win.

Utah has the edge on offense with quarterback Brian Johnson leading the way who will be healthy after separating his shoulder last year in the opener and never was really healthy until their Poinsettia bowl win. If Johnson is healthy then the Ute offense will be all right. The running back position will be interesting to see how the split between last years surprise star Darrell Mack and Matt Asiata who was to be the starter before he broke his leg. Look for both backs to get an equal share, and look for them to be on the field at the same time. Both players are power runners, but Mack has a little more lateral speed then Asiata but this one-two punch should be able to attack the Michigan front line. Ute fans know about play maker Brent Casteel at wide receiver who is the other returning player who injured his knee and missed nearly all of last season.

Michigan's defense was not effective when they played teams with spread, such as Appalachian State and Illinois. If Utah can stretch the field with their plethora of receivers and backs then Utah will be successful. The running game will struggle if Utah runs up the gut without any misdirection plays.

The offense lost the majority of the talent from last year. The list is long starting by losing a pair of four year starters in quarterback Chad Henne and running back Mike Hart. Then there is the lost of four of the five starting offensive lineman which includes the top offensive lineman chosen in the 2008 draft Jake Long, oh and their best receiver Mario Manningham. It is safe to say the offense might struggle in game one.

Michigan still has not announced publicly who the starting quarterback will be, but Coach Rodriguez has told the player who will start. Both players Steven Threet and Nick Sheridan will get time which is what Rodriguez has said, and by rotating players this could be trouble for Michigan with the swapping in and out. Neither quarterback is highly touted to run the spread and will struggle. Offensively look for MIchigan to run a lot of dive plays and just run up the middle against a Utah defensive line that is young and probaby the weakest point on the Ute defense.

The difference in the game could come down to special teams, Utah has the edge their with All-American kicker Louis Sakoda who also punts for Utah. This will be a close game and lower scoring, but look for Utah to win 21-17.

(0-0) (0-0)

This is a huge game for both teams and could be the best game of the weekend. Both teams have a legitimate shot to win the league crown, and the winner here has the inside track. TCU will finally have just one quarterback, Andy Dalton and with a year of experience and not looking over his shoulder the Horned Frog offense should be better. Runnig back Aaron Brown is the key for a TCU victory, last year Brown missed a lot of time with injury and was a shell of himself. Now that Brown is healthy look for TCU to run the ball a lot which should be their strength on offense.

The same can be said with New Mexico with star running back Rodney Ferguson who is on pace to become the schools all time leading rusher by years end. New Mexico will run and run Ferguson and then look for a play action from the experienced quarterback Donovan Porterie who was on the All-American team as a freshman. New Mexico did lose its top two receivers from a year ago, but the poise will allow Porterie to direct the offense.

Defense will favor TCU and even with the loss of Tommy Blake and Chase Ortiz this defense has the chance to be better then last year, and during the 2007 season TCU was top 15 nationally in all defensive major categories. Defense has been what TCU has been known for during the past few years and they could have the best defesne in the Mountai West.

As for New Mexico the defense was their weaker point last year by allowing 21points per game, not bad but the defense was unable to create turnovers last year. They will have their hands full in stopping the run, and stopping the run will be Lobos main focus.

Predicting this is tough, New Mexico is good at home and they have the more seasoned quarterback, but the defensive edge goes to TCU. My gut says New Mexico because they are at home, but it will be close.

(0-0) (0-0)

Northern Iowas is ranked in the top 5 of the FCS polls, and Sports Illustrated had labeled Northern Iowa the next team to take out a top FBS team. That posting was more along the hype machine working rather then fact. While Northern Iowas is a very, very good FCS team and can score they do not have the defense to stop BYU. With BYU going with its 'Quest for Perfection' BYU will need to crush Northern Iowa to keep up in the polls.

Things to look for in this game could be BYU offensive line, becasue they did lose one starter to injury, the defense is a huge issue and it will be interesting to see if Northern Iowa's offense can make a dent in the Cougar defense, then the most interesting thing could be wide receiver Austin Collie playing quarterback. Collie has been practicing the position and while Coach Mendenhall says that he is grooming Collie to be the primary back up to Max Hall, and not just used for a change of pace. Do not believe that, look for Collie to take direct snaps and run the option if or when he gets in at quarterback.

BYU should take care of business in the first half and win by three touchdowns.

(0-0) (0-0)

Cal Poly has a legitimate chance to defeat San Diego State. again. The Mustangas defeated San Diego State in 2006 16-14. San Diego State will be reminded by head coach Chuck Long about the disappointment in losing to this team a few years back. The reasoning is that the Aztecs can lose is that they are breaking in a new quarterback who was drafted in the NFL. The Aztecs have Redshirt freshman Ryan Lindley for quarterback who was ranked 34th by Rivals.com, but the offense only returns four starters which last year struggled to move the ball and score points. Cal Poly did not have a great defense and gave up 25 per game, which gives the Aztecs young offense hope against the Mustangs.

Cal Poly is ranked 14th in the FCS polls, and has a very good offense who last year scored 35 points last year and should be just as explosive this year. San Diego State does retutn eight starters back, but it was from a defense that was poor last year. Cal Poly will score points against this defense, but San Diego State will pull this game out but will be a close one.

The pillow fight of the week will be taken place in Las Vegas. UNLV actually has a chance to be competitive aganist other teams in the league. UNLV will finally have their man starting at quarterback who is Omar Clayton, and after a rocky first year in MIke Sanford's system he should be better. Clayton is the clear number one and is the first quarterback Sanford has had who is capable of running and throwing which is a necessaity in the spread.

The Rebels have other players who are very good and one of those is Frank Summers who is a star running back that runs hard up the middle. Summers is a Doak Walker Award watch list, and last year he came on strong with only 928 yards but averaged 4.6 yards per carry. His yards would have been higher, but last year UNLV was not in many games.

Then the Rebels also have two very good receivers in Casey Flair and Ryan Wolfe, both who are all conference candidates. This is possible the best receiving duo in the league, and if the quarterback is stable like it should be then look for the Rebels to be able to score points.

Utah State is in the same tier as UNLV in division one football. The Aggies may finally have a quarterback in Senior Sean Setzer who has been with the team for all four years, and he is comfortable in the system thus making him a smart choice. Setzer has had limited playing time for Utah State which is a concern for coach Brent Guy. The rest of the offense is unsure as well, at running back it will be a committee affair and they hope to find someone who wille emerge as the leader.

Then there is the receiver where the Aggies lost Koren Robinson who was their main play maker at wideout and at returning as well. That position will have to be made up by multiple players, and no one player has the ability of Robinson.

This is a pillow fight game, but UNLV should win this game becasue of being at home and that UNLV has more experience coming back.

This game will be interesting, becasue this is a rivalry game and the last few years have been decided by seven poins or less. This being Colorado's Dan Hawkins third year one would expect large improvements from last year.

Colorado State has the running attack to play ball control game with Kyle Bell and Gattrell Johnson III. The running game is the key to beat the Buffalos, for one the running game is very good and the other is to keep the ball away from Colorado quarterback Cody Hawkins.

The other stars player on the Rams is tight end Korry Sperry who is recovering from a knee injury he suffered last year in game two. If healthy Sporry should be the best receiver for the Rams, but the concern is at the quarterback position where the Rams are replacing Caleb Hanie. The new quarterback is Senior Billy Farris and last year he only had 20 attempts, so inexperience is the key year. Having the new quarterback means that the running game must be effective to help break in Farris, just so he can ease into the game.

Colorado has the chance to surprise the Big XII North this season, but this game is different being a rivalry game. The quarterback positionis held by Cody Hawkins who is starting his second year as the starting quarterback, and last year he passed for 3,000 yards as a redshirt freshman. Hawkins is the key for Colorado, but he does have help in 1,000 yard rusher Hugh Charles returning for his senior year.

Colorado should have a balanced attack to keep the Rams off balanance on defense. Speaking of defense neither team was impressive with both giving up more then 25 per game last year, the competition was at different levels but neith was very good.

The edge has to go to Colorado because of their quarterback play which is solid, but do not count out the Rams who have the ability to run the ball and control the clock. Plus this is a rivalry game and they are always close.

The war in Cotabato province ended already but the peace that people enjoyed before is still in the verge of uncertainty. The forcible occupation of the MILF bandits in some areas of Cotabato province had created uproar in all aspects of the country's peace and economic stability, as well as to the people of the entire nation. With this chaotic event, what should be done to resolve this old-aged problem not only in cotabato but in the entire island of Mindanao??

the N routers in the Draft World.

the world is changing rapidly. we just started our short sleep having B routers serving our networking needs and presto! we are now living and starting to plunge into the new era of N series.

theoretically, N is somehow the most successful and so far the most intriguing result about man's knowledge. Can you imagine that, the farther you will go from your access point, the better the signal that your wi-fi device can achieve? Great, isn't it?

with the advantage of science and technology, most of us right are enjoying the excellent performance that we could ever achieve using networking products. We have N routers capable of giving us great speed and wi-fi broadcast that we never imagined before, we have N adapters that could maximize the performance of the N routers. All these are only few among the new technologies that are being presented into the public right from our very eyes....

one of the leading networking producing companies in the world called linksys had just recently released their newest N router WRT160N that has an ultra range plus capability and it is using the MIMO technology called multiple in multiple out techbology wherein it utilizes the overylaying multiple radios and multiplies the effective data rate and uses these reflections to increase the range and reduce dead spots in a wireless area. This unit is capable of broadcasting 2 wireless signals using 2 different frequencies: the 2.4 Ghz and the 5 Ghz frequencies. The more you get farther from the area where the wireless server is located, the better the signal that you will be getting if you are using the 5 Ghz frequencies.

However, a lot of underlying problems are arising concerning the performance that you can possibly attain using this unit. There are cases that you won't get even a minimum amount of signal and worst you can only get 2-3 mbps network speed instead of 200 plus or more [concerning that you are using an N compatible products]. The key about this issue is that, for us to understand that this technology and most of the networking product manufacturers are in the stage of standardizing the technology. In short this is still prone for some revalidas about the stability of this technology. As of the moment, leading manufacturers like linksys, belkin, netgear, cisco are doing their very best to give us, the consumers the best service that we could possibly have maybe not now, but that would be very soon...

so guys, what keeps you sitting there? are you ready to come up with a great network speed? as of the moment who is leading in giving a great performance? the supremacy is still in the air...

what do you prefer, the G series versus N series?

"A dream is your creative vision for your life in the future. You must break out of your current comfort zone and become comfortable with the unfamiliar and the unknown.- Denis Waitley

"The great danger for family life, in the midst of any society whose idols are pleasure, comfort and independence, lies in the fact that people close their hearts and become selfish." -Pope John Paul II

How often do I misuse or replace comfort for comfortable? Which am I chasing?

Comfort is something we can give or receive. It is something we can accept or reject. We can comfort the oppressed, hurting, mourning, suffering. Comfort can be found in the wasteland and the desert. There is kindness, understanding and nourishment where there is comfort. Comfort can be found in the late hours of the night when we are all alone, it is transcendent. We can use the comfort that we receive from others and from God to move forward. We can leverage our comfort for the sake of others.

Comfortable con notates a state of abundance, ease and perhaps luxury. Being comfortable can lead to stagnancy, a false sense of security and complacency. Being comfortable keeps us inward focused.

Are there degrees of comfortability that are okay? When did the privilege of being comfortable move to becoming a right? Is it possible to live comfortably and be fully sold out to Christ at the same time? What does that even mean? Is it appropriate to compare your life to mine? At this point, I am filled with more questions, than answers.

Lord, forgive us when we give in to the desires that move us towards the comfortable. May the fires of compassion, mercy, justice and truth burn brightly in our hearts, without reservation or hesitation. Pour forth Your wisdom and discernment as to how we are to live our lives daily.

Considered to be the emotional scholar however the one of the bests in vocals...

Filipinos are said to be sympathetic, as they always find their very selves sharing their own feelings within the world of underrated, mocked underdogs. It may sound so superfluous, but i think it is best to be this way.

We, always find ourselves giving support to people underprivileged and we always share our greatest sentiments to people being in the center of insults, and huge mockery.

In the music world, you don't have to stop being just good. The moment you stop doing good will be the moment that you will find yourself left behind. However, on the way up, you cannot get away with people that would stop you from being there, but what is best is, for you to be nice to them, to all who you will be meeting up because you will always meet and share your happiness, sighs, and failures to that same people on your way down...

TODAY, I WILL BE INTRODUCING TO YOU....THE PINOY DREAM ACADEMY DARK HORSE...

LET'S MEET...LAARNI LOSALA.

Laarni was dubbed as the emotional-ever scholar of the PDA season 2. At the start, she encountered severals disputes and created gaps among with the other scholars. However, as the PDA 2 is coming to its season finale, this 23 year old new-born diva of Sultan Kudarat is undeniably one of the hot contenders being the new grand star dreamer.

In question why?..let's take a look at her exceptional performances...

Boxers and Briefs. Which one do you prefer? Who cares about your opinion? Well lets compare them.

(Please note this is about boxers that you wear, not the boxers who fight in a ring, because it obvious that a boxer (the fighting kind) could easily beat up a pair of briefs).

When your buying boxers they come in packets which are easy to carry, when people are buying briefs they have to buy them in briefcases, which are difficult to carry and make you look like you have a good paying job.

Briefs are usually white while boxers usually have designs on them. So now a days boxers are for people who want there under garments to say something and briefs are for people who don't want there under garments to say anything and who are trying to avoid drawing attention to their STDs.

So the choice is yours. And always remember that commando is always an option.
