This blog is seven weeks old, I had wanted to predict events, and really I didn't succeed, although I had some close calls.

I might do a tally of close encounters in the future.

But I have often come up with a title or theme - only to see it appear again somewhere else within hours or a day or a few days.

So to some degree I might have my finger on the pulse. To write alternative news could be seen as an opportunistic endeavor - to touch upon the zeitgeist. But I would be much happier promoting a mainstream awakening. It is just not the reality at this time. My posts might contain insights but they are not investigative, so perhaps I need to team up with someone who has their ear to the ground.

Just why or how people visit is still a mystery to me, but with the posts accumulating, that in itself allows for higher amounts of hits.

I guess to have a successful blog, that one could live from, tens of thousands of hits per day would be required. It has been hard so far, and I have enjoyed the challenge...

Time will make me create a style. I am grateful for your visit. I have been encouraged to feature subjects that receive the most visitors, and would you believe the nemesis of life, that I should be featuring issues of Judaism and Zionism. Will it ever end?!

BTW I don't know how many rss feeds (if any) are going on.

It seem like they do this stuff on Friday so they don't have to listen to people bitch when they close support until Monday. It never ceases to amaze me. But alas, this is a free service (for some, not me because I have custom features that Blogger provides free of charge). Both wordpress.com and Blogger seem to output invalid markup when inserting photos into a post. You'd think that things would improve over time in that arena, but it seems to have gotten worse over time on both platforms.

Here is the string that seems to be causing the problem:

What the hell is this? Wordpress.com, can you please remove it or use something else that does not cause my markup to fail validation please? It seems to be a stats script of some sort. IT SUCKS!

I will say that my main reason for staying on wordpress.com, rather than switching back to Blogger is that wordpress.com usually validates to XHTML 1.0 Transitional. But now it doesn't anymore. Why sacrifice all of the other other features available on Blogger then? I've gone through this 1001 times and I'm torn between the two at this point. It seems as if I will never be satisfied here, because although many of the features are great, the ones I truly want are unavailable for "security reasons."

What to do...I just want simplicty, and yet be able to use my blog as best as possible? I want validitiy if I am going to stay on wordpress.com, that is the bottom-line. I hope this gets resolved, then all is good. If not, I will be permanantly moving to Blogger.

Damn it, I was happy for about one month, and now I'm pissed again.

By the way, before anyone says a word about hosted Wordpress, I will tell you off the bat, I'm not interested in paying any money for my blog in the future. Blogger is free in every way, and has improved dramatically, including adding hAtom support. Besides, Google rocks just as much as Microsoft now, so why not take advantage of everything at my fingertips?

Nu ska jag bara sätta mig och kolla igenom alla länkar oxå. Det är ju inte helt omöjligt att en el av dom inte finns/fungerar längre. Hittar ni trasiga länkar så får GÄRNA säga till. Annars är ni välkomna att använda er av dom. Jag gjorde den från början att ha som startsida hemma och lätt åtkomlig från alla datorer. Visst är det väl retfullt när man sitter på jobbet eller på lånedator och man inte kommer åt sina favoriter? Därför gjorde jag den. Jag har ju inte haft internet hemma på så där åtta år så jag har BARA suttit på lånedatorer. Så då förstår ni varför.

Jag hittade ett webbhotell som man får testa i tre månader gratis. Sen kostar det ung. 36 kr i månaden. Det är färdiggjort för wordpress.... surftown heter det. Har ni hört ngt om det? Är det bra? Man kan i ala fall testa. Efter tre månader får man en räkning för nästa kvartal. Betalar man inte den så förfaller kontot automatiskt. Ingen uppsägningstid. Och vill man alltså inte ringa eller skriva till dom bara struntar man i nästa räkning och så är den uppsagd. Det är ju bra. Alltså kan jag testa, gillar jag det inte så bara försvinner det sen. Kanon!
Annars lutar det ju faktiskt åt elvahost som Tia har. Fastjag måste kolla upp det där med den extra kostnaden som kom som en överraskning. Jag gillar inte när de döljer saker...

If Sam Walton, creator or Wal-Mart and Sam's Club, was a an independent recording artists he we would cut out the the major record labels. Why? Walton bought his products directly from the manufacturer/wholesaler. Who is the wholesaler for independent recording artists? THE INDEPENDENT RECORDING ARTIST!! Every independent recording artists is a manufacturer/wholesaler. You're the one making the music, you're the one supplying the goods.

Location, location, location. Walton looked at demographics and numbers to pick the location of his stores. He built his first store around 1950, before the Internet existed. Sam Walton's first customers HAD TO BE within a five to ten mile radius so they could get to the store. A lot of people could not afford cars, there were no cell phones, and there was no Internet.

Today independent recording artists have the Internet. Just open your OWN STORE online and have customers ALL OVER THE WORLD. Sam Walton would have loved to have that technology back in 1950. If Walton was alive he would ask the record labels "Why Do I Need You? What Is It That You Do For Me?"

The better question is why aren't more independent recording artists asking this question? Consumerism is a mindset that thrives off of dependency. Companies try to get you hooked on their product and make you think you cannot live without it (dependency). Record labels do the same. Sam Walton would not take this or believe it and neither should you.

Walton was a visionary as well as realist. As a realist he would acknowledge the weakness of the independent recording artist and FIX IT. Marketing is the weakness. He would fix this problem by using Strategic Marketing as opposed to Mass Marketing used by major recording labels.

Strategic Marketing is as it sounds. You look at demographics, numbers, and other data to predict where, when, how, and IF you should advertise.

Mass Marketing is the opposite. Just throw a whole bunch out there and see who buys the most. Whoever buys the most is your market. If nobody is buying simply make people buy it by getting the idea stuck in their head (play it over and over again on the radio).

Major record labels have used mass marketing for years. However, mass marketing is less effective in the new digital era. For example, more people listen to their CD players and Mp3 players as opposed to the radio. True, many people enjoy the morning talk shows, but now they can download the podcast and avoid the commercials. Creators of online communities like FaceBook are opting not to sell their companies the way Tom sold MySpace to Google. Refusing to sell the companies means less advertisements and mass marketing.

Customers Must Come To You

We're all sick of advertisements. Everywhere we turn something is being pushed on us. Ironically, Wal-Mart does not put much money in advertising. Here is another reason I use Sam Walton as an example. He made his name brand name so big, customers look for his stores. Wal-Mart does not have to go looking for customers. This is what independent artists must do.

Independent artists, you've got to get people looking for you. When you go on vacation what is one of the first things you look for? A Wal-Mart! You want people looking for you. My dad played football at Hamilton College and used to listen to one record before every game. Indie artists when athletes are about to take the field or somebody is just having a bad day you want those people looking for music.

Make Your Music Easy To Find

For independent recording artists, it's not about mass marketing. It's about two things. Strategic marketing and accessibility. We already went over strategic marketing. Accessibility means your music is easy to find. I should not have to go through thousands of MySpace pages to find your music!

Accessibility is one of the biggest problems that plagues Indie artists. They often follow the hottest trend, like MySpace, and get buried under millions of other artists. GET YOUR OWN WEB PAGE. You can have the MySpace, but you need your own web page i.e yourbandname.com.

Search Engine Optimization

This is extremely important to independent recording artists. You can find a Wal-Mart on every corner. I should be able to find your music on most Google and Yahoo searches. Sounds extreme and impossible. It's not. Search Engines like Yahoo and Google are evolving, meaning they are becoming better. If you did a Google search three years back you'd get lot more unnecessary information than if you searched today.

As the search engines become for efficient, so do the search categories. Categories are becoming more specific. People no longer Google 'Buy Car' instead they Google 'Buy Hybrid Car'. People are becoming very specific with their wants and demands and the search engines are as well.

Pretty soon we will see Google searches designed specifically for independent music. Currently Google has the following types of searches: Web, Images, Maps, News, Shopping, Video, YouTube, Groups, Books, Blogs and a few others.

So if You're looking for a specific video, do a Google video search. If you know that video is a Youtube video. Don't do a video search, do a YouTube video search. See how the search engines are getting more specific. Pretty soon people will not just search music, they will search music from independent artists in North Carolina or music from independent Neo Soul artists in Raleigh, North Carolina. Search engines get more specific everyday.

Get your own domain name and web page. Make it easy for people to find you. Take me for example. My name is Jamille Luney and my webpage is jamilleluney.com. I have a MySpace page the address is myspace.com/jamilleluney and I linked it to my web page jamilleluney.com. This makes it easier for people to find me and it helps the search engines fined me as well. I also have a blog. Jamilleluney.wordpress.com and I combined the blog address with the website. Again this makes it easier for search engines to find me. Search Engine optimization baby.

Search Engine Optimization is the best Strategic Marketing for independent recording artists.

Finally decided to get back on track with blogging again after meeting up with some of the ping.sg community.  Really cheerful and rowdy bunch, should get along with them pretty well.

Rappresenta l orgoglio nazionale in questione Blog.Molto semplice ed abbastanza intuibile. Inoltre ha molti template anche se alcuni non proprio carini. Pero ci sono blog che vi offrono la possibilita di aver nuovi template da aggiungere ai soliti predefiniti. Inoltre con il blog appena installato si ha la pagina con gia installati feeds. Mah oltre questo... non vedo nessuna nota veramente positiva e degna di nota.

Han finns bland de inlägg som toppar besöksstatistiken.

Faktum är att jag var lite tveksam till att blogga om Manuel inledningsvis. Jag tyckte att det hela tangerade gränsen för freak-show en aning, om du förstår vad jag menar? Men faktum kvarstår; han är (efter ett inlägg om sonen Maxis FinalFantasy-spelande och som f n har en knapp ledning över Manuel Uribe) den som dragit flest besökare till bloggen, enligt den statistik som WordPress tillhandahåller.

Britt Eklandcitatet "Jag går inte till sängs med lyckligt gifta män" belägger en hedrande tredjeplats i min bloggstatistik. (Kanske för att sökordet "sex" återfinns bland kategorierna)? Summer is just taking to long to come around. It teased me for about a week with perfect weather for sunny beach days. It let me get my tan started up, fall asleep while basking in the sun light and listening to music. And then summer went back to sleep. It made me bring out my rainy weather clothing again, didn't let me wear my new tank tops and mini skirts, and worst of all it has let me suffer the consequences of a fading tan ( a weird shade of yellow tinted skin ). I love you summer, if you can hear me please wake up! The beggining of summer makes school seem like it's about to end, but when it's rainy and cold outside I feel as if there's months left to endure. And listening to A Long December (song of the day) hasn't helped the situation.

Como casi no tenemos galerías donde acudir en búsqueda de themes para wordpress, aquí va otra más. Dejando las ironías a un lado en mi lectura diaria de fuentes me topo con SkinPress, una galería donde recopilan templates para varios sistemas, siendo la sección con más número de ellos, con mucho, la de wordpress.

En especial destacaría de esta galería su simpleza, es el recurso idóneo para de un vistazo y rápidamente encontrar un diseño decente para nuestro blog montando con wordpress. Recalcar lo de diseño decente, porque entre los 61 hay de todo, encontrando bastantes con interfaces bonitas y resultonas visualmente. He dicho!

文章也沒多少，就要花了我快一個晚上…，所以，我的心得是有些東西最好不要綁在特定的機子上如 feed，若不是透過 feed burner 訂 feed 的人就全掉了…。就像 email 也是，能不用公司的就不用公司的。還有就是這些免費的服務是愈開放愈好，還有這些有的沒的限制就真是小鼻子小眼睛。

唯有如此才是獨立之道啊！
